  2. You may want to try Applegate Farms products. They are gluten free, and nitrate free. Open Original Shared Link
  3. if your label doesn't say it, it doesn't have it. soy is required to be listed by law and wouldn't be hidden under 'flavorings' etc.
  4. Yes, Patti, we are waiting and hoping you had a good appointment.
  5. I agree with MG's assessment.
  6. Tell Jen that Laura says hi and give her a hug from me.
  7. You'll get various opinions on this. I don't think it has to do with Enterolab, per se, (as they are not the only lab that does this type of testing) but the validity of the method of testing. There is some research that supports it, but mostly, the 'experts' disagree with stool testing for this. However, there is a lot that we don't know about Celiac...
  8. You may want to talk to your parents about taking you to the doctor and having you evaluated to see if your Celiac antibodies (bloodwork) have dropped to normal limits. If they haven't, your body hasn't healed or is still getting gluten, and that may be the explanation for your symptoms.
  9. According to Dr. Green: "Q: What triggers DH? The simple answer is ingested gluten. But iodine (potassium iodide, iodized salt, kelp), some anti-inflammatories and stress can exacerbate the disease. An area of controversy is whether or not gluten can be absorbed through the skin. Most medical experts say no, only dietary gluten is of concern. DH...

  14. Hi Sarah, From: Open Original Shared Link Of the commercially available serologic tests that aid in the diagnosis of celiac disease, no one test is ideal. Using multiple serologies increases the diagnostic yield. Therefore, in the United States, screening in patients with possible celiac disease should consist of a panel of the following serologic tests...
  15. Welcome to the board! If a first degree relative has Celiac, the risk is 1 in 22. Keep in mind in some families, there are a lot of people with Celiac. In others, there is only one. They may have it now even with no symptoms. Silent Celiac is much more common than 'classic' Celiac, researchers are learning. They may not have it now, but could...

  17. Food labeling laws doesn't require it to list the source unless it is a main 8 allergen. I've never seen or heard barley as the source of 'modified food starch'
  18. They are wonderful - I love the cheddar ones!
  19. If wheat is not listed, it is not 'hidden' in there. FDA food labeling laws REQUIRE wheat to be listed. I've never seen a garlic or onion powder that has wheat in it - and if it did, it would be listed.
  20. Happysilliversary, happy to see you T, and hugs to Bev. Now check out my post count.
