I got my labs back yesterday. The tumor is active. I am very low on Cortisol, very high on Prolactin, and my Thyroid is boarderline. I start a hormone treatment soon to start shrinking the tumor and getting my hormones back on track. They are hoping that with this it will reduce if not stop my migraines. Also seeing a neurosurgeon soon to see what he thinks...

ARCHIVED gluten-free Batter For Jalapeno Poppers?
kristenloeh posted a topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Does anyone have a gluten-free batter recipe for jalapeno poppers? Trying so hard to find one for my dad because he misses making them. All I can find are bread crumbs or bacon. Grrr. -
ARCHIVED Tattoo To Symbolise Being Diagnosed?
kristenloeh replied to CourtneyLee's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I'm going to get an "XXX" but the X's are going to be little wheat stalks.(Because I call my gluten free diet my "gluten edge") You shouldn't react to the ink because of your Celiac. I have seven tattoos so far, both color and black and grey, all of them medium-large sized. Everyone reacts to tattoos differently, everyone has different skin, but you should... -

They can make just about any of their burgers gluten-free. They use the Jensen's buns, which I like a lot better than Udi's. They can even do their sandwiches gluten-free, (BLT SOOOOO GOOD!). They even have gluten-free onion rings! They have separate fryers for the tater tots, fries and onion rings. They are so great with preventing cross contamination. They...

ARCHIVED Kudos To Red Robin - Redmond, Wa
kristenloeh replied to TGK112's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
The one in Renton at the Landing was horrible. The menu was a print out, claiming they had no buns, and said on the bottom that they couldn't promise there wouldn't be any cross contamination, so we didn't want to risk it.... I will make sure to tell my family that the Redmond one is a lot better then, but honestly, if I have to travel to get a burger, I... -
ARCHIVED Smirnoff
kristenloeh replied to a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I've read from people that it's corn, but on the bottles of vodka, it says grain..... So I don't chance it. I drink Vikingsford, Luksovosa, or any other potato based ones. Ciroc is grape based and Titos is corn based. -

The only salmon I've had from Costco is the big package of the smoked salmon. It's in a black, big package. SO yummy. -

ARCHIVED Gluten Reactions Getting Worse, Not Sure What To Eat After Exposure.
kristenloeh replied to General Ludd's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
What has helped me from not getting AS sick is taking the vitamin Celiact, which also has probiotics and enzymes to help you heal. Also, some Zantac with some Pepto is a great combo with a probiotic. If you can get a script for desolvable Zofran, that stuff is a miracle working for nausea. As for foods to eat during feeling that crappy, I eat a lot of... -

This is a huge fear of mine... When/if I have to have my brain surgery, if the hospital doesn't provide gluten free options, how will I eat while staying there? I saw in the prison post that a lot of people said that the hospitals where they are at didn't provide a gluten free option. Any suggestions as to what to do if they don't? Anyone else been in this...

ARCHIVED No Celiac
kristenloeh replied to razzle51's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Yeah, I was actually happy to be diagnosed with Celiac because I at least knew what the problem was FINALLY after 10+ years of suffering and could get on the track of feeling better. Sorry you don't have the answer yet. -

Since the tumor seems to be in the back of my pituitary, the neurologist can't do much since "technically" it's not IN my brain. So I talk to an endocrinologist about what other tests she wants me to do, to see if it's "active" or not, (messing with my hormones and/or secreting them), and then from there, we will hopefully start having a treatment plan in...

ARCHIVED Gluten Free Diet Or Gluten Free Lifestyle?

Maybe I'm just a tard or something, but I prefer saying "lifestyle" just because that IS how I live my life and it IS for life... Oh well, guess I'm just a "hipster", eh? -
That type of glutening happened to me a few weeks ago. We were cleaning out the fridge and I touched the flour tortilla bag and forgot to wash my hands, and then ate.... Sick for days. Feel better soon!

We have a bit more information. The tumor is NOT cancerous. It's about the size of my pituitary gland and it is in the back of the gland, so it's not messing with my optic or my sinuses, which is a good thing, but in a way, a bit bitter sweet, since now instead of the surgery option being easy and through my nose, they will have to go in through my skull...
