ARCHIVED Severe Chronic Constipation
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks so much everyone. I do feel cheered up hearing that it's not just me. My switch to Kangen water a week ago might be making a difference. Given what my bm looks like now, I would usually be feeling sick today, but I feel pretty good. It's possible that reg tap water after it's gone through the Kangen filtering machine, making it alkaline, antioxidant... -
ARCHIVED Severe Chronic Constipation
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
After about 8 colonics over 2 months, then a colonoscopy prep, magnesium citrate, nothing would move. A cat scan showed there was still an impaction, so my doc said if it wouldn't move after all that, a liquid diet would be necessary. At that point I was on my third colonic technician and she suggested the 30 day raw food diet, because there are more digestive... -
ARCHIVED Severe Chronic Constipation
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for saying that, because it is miserable, and discouraging. When my bowels don't move, I feel depressed, then when they move again, it's like a dark cloud has lifted and I'm back to my optimistic self again. The psychological and physiological parts go hand in hand. I am having blood work next week to check all my vitamin and mineral levels and... -
ARCHIVED Severe Chronic Constipation
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I eat two avocados and and a tablespoon of olive oil every day. Increasing my olive oil consumption daily is one thing I haven't tried consistently. My weight has been consistent, but lately my scale will show I've gained 5-10 lbs, but I think I'm retaining water. Maybe I should have one avocado a day and increase my olive oil. Once I tried drinking 1/4 cup... -
I've seen some really brave posts on here recently, so I am going to talk about my worst symptom. Severe Chronic Constipation. More people seem to have D on this site, and I never do, so I've been embarrassed to bring up my problem. I've been having severe constipation for three years, trying to figure out why. Then I found out about my gluten intolerance...

ARCHIVED Intestinal Parasites
FruitEnthusiast replied to cahill's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I don't know what kind of medication you're taking. Have you considered an herbal parasite cleanse? My doc asked me to use one in case I had any, but I was never tested for them. I took it for the recommended 12 days and didn't see any evidence of parasites. I never thought I had any in the first place, but the stuff I took was easy to take and didn't give... -
ARCHIVED Silly Folks On Psoriasis Forums
FruitEnthusiast replied to bartfull's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
You know the saying about horses and water... you tried, that's all you can do. The whole concept of gluten free must sound pretty bizarre to others when it's been one of the staples of most people's diets their entire lives. Hopefully when more people become aware of just how sick it's making more and more people, it won't be as widely used? I tell people... -
Well, it's for sure, add another food to the list of things I can't tolerate that gives me the same reaction as gluten: coconut milk, even the canned kind with no additives. The symptoms are specific and unmistakable. I think it's been causing problems longer than I realized. In a way that's good news, just to know that. The bummer is it probably means...

ARCHIVED I Need Advice In A Bad Way Please
FruitEnthusiast replied to Crissy's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi Crissy, There's already a lot of good advice in these posts. I have leaky gut and can hardly eat anything either. I would definitely try keeping your diet as simple as possible. Whole foods are basically foods with only one ingredient, that you can combine with other whole foods at home. The 30 day raw food diet helped me. Raw foods (uncooked) are easier... -
ARCHIVED Coconut Milk Problems?
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hmmm... today I had my new canned coconut milk with no additives in my smoothie and I felt "weird" afterwards. It reminds me of the way I felt when I first tried brown rice protein powder before I realized rice was starting to give me gluten like symptoms. Uh oh, my feet are vibrating a tiny bit like before I stopped eating gluten. I think coconut milk "glutened... -

I really like the way you put that. Thanks. Pretty sick again today. I believe in what you have said here though. I look forward to getting better and better. I know it will happen. -
ARCHIVED How Bad Is Cheating On The Gluten Free Diet Periodically
FruitEnthusiast replied to icm's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Thanks for that important reminder. I live alone, so at home I'm lucky to have control of my surroundings. At work sometimes though I have to handle food, and I have to remember to wear gloves. That sneaky gluten is everywhere! -
ARCHIVED Yes, Things Do Get Better!
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It's such a rollercoaster right now. A good day then a bad one and so on... I still don't know what each day will be like. Didn't feel well again today, but seem to be bouncing back tonight. Tomorrow who knows? It feels good to be feeling more like myself again though. It means so much to me to be able to check in on this site, and see what's happening with... -
ARCHIVED Ugh ... This Time It Was Milk That Got Me
FruitEnthusiast replied to llama3's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Additive free coconut milk in a can does taste just as good as the ones with additives! I didn't even know Trader Joe's carried the canned type. It's even thicker and creamier too which makes it great used straight in recipes in place of cream, I imagine, or with water added for drinking. You learn something new every day! -
I've been agonizing over the time it's taking to heal, as I've mentioned in previous posts. Then I made an encouraging realization. Recovering isn't taking as long as I thought. I keep thinking I've been gluten free for nearly five months, which is technically true, but I've been developing sensitivities to other foods for the last three months, and was ...

ARCHIVED Coconut Milk Problems?
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Very good to know, and I agree completely, thanks! I finally took the leap and bought a can of Trader Joes's coconut milk, with no additives, and it was just as good! It will be great to use in recipes too. No need to even consider brands with additives anymore. And it will keep on the shelf longer. Win win. Yay! -
ARCHIVED How Bad Is Cheating On The Gluten Free Diet Periodically
FruitEnthusiast replied to icm's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
After losing nearly 3 years of my life trying to figure out what the heck has been making me so sick all the time, and I'm still not through it yet, I don't ever want to be miserable again. Quality of life is too important. I won't take it for granted after this experience. I'm glad this post is here for anyone who is tempted to cheat. My Dr told me I would... -
ARCHIVED Going Out For Drinks - Help
FruitEnthusiast replied to Minstinguette's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
I don't think pineapple juice usually has additives in it, but I'm not positive about that. Most places have it too. That doesn't solve the alcohol question, but it's better than drinking water. People do tend to notice a lot more if I drink water, and some will ask questions about it. I think people feel more comfortable if they think everyone is joining... -
ARCHIVED Coconut Milk Problems?
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Giving up my beloved coconut milk for two weeks hasn't improved my slow digestion at all . I don't think it was causing any problems for me at all, so I'm enjoying it again. -
ARCHIVED Ugh ... This Time It Was Milk That Got Me
FruitEnthusiast replied to llama3's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Any "additives" in "So Delicious" are vegetable or mineral based, natural and gluten free. They are all on the safe list on this site. I don't think there are any problems with it. Anyone have any other ideas about the different coconut milks? Do the additives make it no longer a whole food, and instead a processed food? Very curious about this. I'm interested... -
ARCHIVED Celiac Tests Negative.
FruitEnthusiast replied to heathenly's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
Wow. It's surprising to hear that some Docs are saying Gluten Intolerance isn't a big deal or doesn't exist. My blood test was negative too and I still have intestinal damage from gluten to the point that I've developed so many other food sensitivities from it that there are very few things left I can eat. Don't let that happen to you. Look up info on leaky... -

Isn't that the truth! In the dictionary, I think the words Doctor and Arrogant are synonymous They like use that insulting word too... Psychosomatic... when they have NO idea what else to say. -
ARCHIVED Stool Testing And Parasites
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'm doing the Paragone cleanse now, this is the sixth day. Nothing has happened yet, except I started drinking Kangen water and the combination of the two is stirring toxins up and making me feel nauseated and headachy. I decided to do the cleanse because it is supposed to clear out anything that shouldn't be there from parasites, to bacterial or yeast overgrowth... -
Dadblammit! I'm a redhead and that's no fair. Finally a Dentist though who understands this connection. Most health care professionals don't think about these things or so it seems. Good for you. Lots of men get red in their beards, don't know why that is.

ARCHIVED Does This Really Get Better?
FruitEnthusiast replied to FruitEnthusiast's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It helps so much to talk to all of you who understand on this site. Thank you so much. One thing I really struggle with is missing work. I can only work half days and sometimes not even that. No one at work gives me a hard time, but my bosses would like me to be there more than I can be. I want to be reliable enough to work the entire schedule I agreed...
