I dont recall if anyone has directly stated that the enzymes should be taken off the market. I do recall seeing words such as "dangerous", "snakeoil", "junk", etc.....and I could be wrong but I'm assuming those people dont want this product on the market.

I just wanted to say that I'm glad you joined the discussion (the more the merrier ) and that my reasons for participating in this thread were the same as yours.

I'm basing this not only on the fact that Celiac is genetic....but also on the fact that it is pretty well understood that *most* people who carry the genes do not ever have them triggered. The statistics for Celiac Disease is around 1 out of 133. This figure is not based on Celiac's who were already diagnosed. The figure comes from a study which involved...

And this is true! Leaky gut can occur for many reasons....there is no single cause for the development of leaky gut. There are many possibilities and more than one factor can be involved. Gluten can be a cause for leaky gut....and it can also be a result of leaky gut. It can happen either way....and YES...it *can* cause damage to the intestinal lining...

Yes.....if we were to make the assumption that EVERY person with a genetic susceptibility to Celiac Disease will actually develop the disease this would cover a large portion of gluten intolerance in the country. I dont think it would cover ALL cases of gluten intolerance....but a large percentage. However, this is a really BIG assumption to make. We...

Excuse me?? I think during the ENTIRE time I've posted in this thread I have stated numerous times that this is not a treatment for Celiac Disease. Ok....so maybe now I am starting to see everyone's point. Sometimes people just arent going to "get it". Also, FYI...the boards arent limited to only those who are Celiac...there are a great...

I think I have a new favorite word....bumfuzzled. I totally agree with you. Thats exactly what I do...I learn from the experiences of others, I research it to see if its something I might benefit from....and then I discuss it with my doctor (who is knowledgeable about these things). I dont want my options to be limited because someone...

On the other hand...there are two prevailing scenarios following the diagnosis. In one scenario the newly diagnosed Celiac does what every Celiac here has done....which is to learn about their disease. Those people are most likley not going to go out and try to find an excuse to eat gluten. In the other scenario the newly diagnosed Celiac makes little...

ARCHIVED Omg...i Might Be On To Something
Rachel--24 replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
April, I have fungal issues but I have no problems with my enzymes (which are fungal based enzymes). There is actually no fungus in the product itself. This is the info from the site's FAQ. These enzymes were designed specifically to address the gluten/casein/phenol issues in the autistic population. But of course, they address other foods... -

Patti, good news about your new doctor listening to you and doing something to address the food intolerances. FYI about ingredients in supplements: I just learned the other day about some of the less obvious (but more common) toxic ingredients that can be found in supplements. Magnesium stearate and silicon dioxide are both considered to... -
To me this sentence is stating that a "sensitivity" to gluten can cause a reaction. This is not limited to people with Celiac Disease and in my opinion is a completely seperate issue from Celiac Disease. Its a different immune response. I'm sensitive to ALOT of foods...including gluten. I'm sensitive to oranges, bananas, chocolate, spices....and...

I'm sure that you're correct....and there are also Celiac's in this country who dont know that they need to avoid barley and rye. There are also Celiac's in this country who think that spelt is gluten free. There are also Celiac's in this country who think that its ok to eat gluten one day a week. My point is....there are ALOT of people...

Ok.....just looked at my bottle. Contains no sugar, starch, dairy, soy, wheat, yeast, gluten, artifical flavors, preservatives or animal derivatives. Its basically just enzymes. -
How To Test Yourself Through Muscle Testing
Rachel--24 replied to hollyres's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Hi, I've had LOTS of muscle testing and I absolutely LOVE it. I really hadn't tried anything like this until about a year and a half ago. My Dr. sent me to this "voodoo" lady (thats what I called her at the time ) and I wasnt all that thrilled about it....but I went because my Dr. said she was good. She wasnt doing muscle testing....but... -

Which enzymes are you taking? Just AFP Peptizyde? Are you taking anything for carbs, starches, fats? Zyme Prime is the one which goes along with it. I actually dont notice a bad taste from them...and I take them without the capsule. It could be that I'm just used to them now. I actually LIKE the taste of No Fenol...I can eat that one all day. -

ARCHIVED Those Of You Who Use Digestive Enzymes....
Rachel--24 replied to jerseyangel's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Hi Patti I take enzymes....but I dont have Celiac....so I dont really count. Anyways, I take Peptizyde and Zyme Prime (Houston Nutraceuticals). Its two seperate formulas. If I had Celiac Disease I would probably go with GlutenEase instead. -
I have a link to 3 short videos....an interview with the Dr. that I mentioned in my previous post. He designed the enzymes which have helped many autistic children...or children with ADD, ADHD and other health problems related to dietary issues. These enzymes were designed specifcally to address the problems these kids are having with gluten and casein...

I dont think anyone "contemplates" accidental exposures. Afterall, they are accidents.....they happen sometimes despite our best efforts. I dont consider myself lucky...I have gut infections, leaky gut, enzyme deficiencies, etc.....do you wanna trade?? I would totally do it....as long as you dont have these other issues + Celiac. ...

No...you're example had nothing to do with my mention of Enterolab. It just came to mind while I was responding and so my thoughts regarding Enterolab got included in that post...but I've actually been saying all of this for awhile now. In my early posts (2005) I was very excited about Enterolab. It was only after I started researching and understanding...

Most physicians arent recommending probiotics while they're handing out the antibiotics....and its not "random science" that beneficial bacteria are essential for optimal intestinal health. Without the correct balance of good/bacteria in the gut...we can experience many health problems. How many people here have had their physician recommend probiotics??...

It is the antibodies which cause the damage....so you are correct.

Are you saying that its the actual process of normal and proper digestion of gluten that actually CAUSES the immune reaction?? So if we are better able to digest gluten we are MORE susceptible to having problems with it?? Yeah...I'm having a little trouble understanding that part because what you're saying is that its better for the body to be dealing...

I agree...which is why I'm still posting on this topic. I think dicussions are very important...and its how we can learn about something which we previously may have had no knowledge of. I myself have learned alot through ongoing discussions....particularly in the OMG thread...which is basically a very long discussion. Some people are "put off" by...

Thanks UncleZack I also am happy to read from the experiences of others. The vast majority do seem to report positive experiences....which in my opinion is a very good indication that enzymes are beneficial. Also, being completely natural....they are not at all harmful to the body (with the exception of rare allergic reactions). You cannot "overdose...
