  1. I probably wouldnt worry too much considering how high his number was and how much it has come down. It looks like you're doing a great job of keeping him gluten-free and it does take some time for numbers to get back into the normal range. If you're sure that he is 100% gluten-free I'd say that the numbers just havent fallen all the way down yet. Its...
  2. Sorry the insomnia is back. Yeah...I'm sure Dr. S. would be happy to order the test for you. Interestingly copper also affects the neurotransmitters. More and more it makes me wonder if I might have already had copper imbalance at the time that I went over the edge.
  3. My post was actually referring to mineral deficiencies....and not heavy metals. I'm actually capable of discussing a wide variety of topics. Part of getting the body back in balance includes correcting any deficiencies or toxicities caused by mineral imbalances. It would be pretty difficult for the body to "sort itself out" if the minerals are not...
  4. I dont know if you'd have a problem with copper since yeast has never been an issue for you?? I still think its good for all of us to have the RBC to check the mineral status. I think I also read that an imbalance of magnesium and calcium can also cause trouble falling asleep. Copper can be chelated with penicillamine...a strong chelator of copper...
  5. I didnt get to start my chelation yesterday. I was pretty much at the end of my cold but then on Monday it came back. I guess it was my own fault because I sometimes forget that I'm sick and go overboard with stuff. I saw some cake in the breakroom at work. I always know theres a risk of reaction when I eat stuff but its usually nothing...
  6. Kassandra (and anyone else with insomnia)...have you had a red blood cell test to check the mineral balances? Certain deficiencies can cause insomnia. Copper imbalance is common in chronic illness and also a cause for insomnia. If it was something like this causing the sleep problems it might be better to correct the imbalance itself rather than having...
  7. Fedora, I read on another thread that you yourself have some symptoms (I think it was joint pain?) and have not yet found a cause. Since you have ticks in your area I would strongly recommend that you yourself be tested (Igenex). Even if you've never seen a rash you could very well still have Lyme and that could be the reason for your ongoing pain. ...
  8. This could also be caused by mineral deficiencies. Both magnesium and copper deficiencies are known to cause cravings for chocolate.
  9. Awww Andrea. I'll be thinking about you and hoping that you're feeling better now that you have the magnesium again. Sorry that hubby isnt home tonight to help you but glad he was able to be there yesterday.
  10. I'm not all that great at the "gene thing"....never could figure it out myself...but according to the report Enterolab is stating that you do not carry either of the main Celiac genes.
  11. LittleMiss, I had negative Western Blots. I had 4 positive bands (41,66,58,30)....none were Lyme specific except for possibly band 30... but not enough valid info. on that at this time. I had a very positive IFA....but again, not 100% specific for Lyme. Negative co-infection tests. My CD57 was 78 (not bad). Lyme turned out to not be a huge...
  12. I just wanted to point out that having the gene doesnt actually mean that you have Celiac Disease. A large percentage of the population carries the genes but do not have the disease. If your bloodwork was negative a diagnosis cant be made on positive gene testing alone. Having said that...if the diet is working for you thats all that really matters...
  13. If its the total serum IgA thats low it means that he is IgA deficient. It means that his bloodwork (IgA) will be negative regardless of whether or not he has Celiac Disease.
  14. Thanks for you kind words OBXMom. Honestly, I dont expect an apology...nor do I need one. I'd just rather continue on with things and move forward. Its not the first time and it wont be the last....I try not to take things too personally. Thanks again and I'm glad that you have found the posts to be helpful.
  15. I agree that you definately should see an LLMD to get this properly ruled in or out. It doesnt sound like this Dr. handled it the way most LLMD's would. I wouldnt say that you are symptom-free and you still havent found a cause for the symptoms that you do have. Lyme can impair detoxification. I did not have a positive test but I did have some positive...
  16. Actually no....the 41 band is not Lyme specific. The 41 band is the "flagella".....the tail of the bacteria. Since lots of bacteria are known to have a flagella it is not specific to Lyme....any bacteria that has a flagella can make the 41 band positive. The bands represent certain "parts" of the bacteria....some of them are highly specific to Lyme...
  17. Donna, its totally non-invasive.....no chelator involved. Just a urine test. Sometimes I have to bring things up to Dr. S. because he doesnt think of everything during our visit....so I usually go there already knowing what types of tests I'd like to have done. This time he mentioned the porphyrin test before I even got a chance to.....I got all excited...
  18. Has anyone else had a porphyrin test for mercury/heavy metals? This is the test my Dr. ordered....I think I'm taking it on Wednesday. Heres the info. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link
  19. Sherry, It was Doctors Data. Here is the link to the test I had done. Open Original Shared Link My tests through Doctors Data have been covered 50% by my insurance.
  20. I never told anyone to drop their sugar free diet. Obviously you are not following my posts. For the most part I have been on the diet myself for over 3 years now. I do cheat but I do not go over board. My candida antibodies which were once off the charts have dropped significantly over the past year....with treatment. I am quite positive that I posted...
  21. Here is some information regarding mercury content in vaccines today.
  22. Actually, having spent nearly 3 years on this board I feel that I can acurately say that the majority of the posters here who are dealing with chronic candida are non-celiac. I dont presume anything about a persons health...I simply pass on what I've learned. I share my experience with those who are interested. If you are uninterested thats perfectly fine...
  23. I recovered from my cold enough that I was able to go to the party in my new dress and have a great time. I also ate dinner and had two pieces of cake. This cake did not seem to have the same effect as the cake I ate last week. I did not get high from my cake even after two pieces. DARN!! Anyways, it was alot of fun and after the party a...
  24. Mia...YAY for PIZZA!!! Jin, It sounds wonderful! I'm so glad you were able to eat and have a good time at your friends wedding...AND they prepared a special meal just for you...how COOL is that!!
  25. There are alot of different theories as to what might cause Autism....I think what IS known at this point is that its mulitfactorial and there is not just one trigger involved. I tend to be most interested in what the Dr.'s have to say because they are the ones who are actually testing these kids, treating these kids, finding out what works and what doesnt...
