  1. Hey Lisa Yeah I've heard this analogy and also the bucket analogy. I use the bucket analogy to explain to people why I'm so freakin reactive to everything. My bucket is overflowing!! Sounds like you're learning some things from Dee...I really like her...she always takes the time to explain things. I hope you're asking lots of questions. ...
  2. Julie you sound like me now!! I just LOVE charcoal .....and 5 years ago I could never imagine myself saying such a thing! Its really the only binder I've been able to take since everything else tests poorly for me. But hey..I'm not complaining cause it works! I havent really needed to take it for a few months now...I'm not feeling like...
  3. Carla...GREAT news!! I know you'd been looking forward to getting on the herbs....looks like you got your wish sooner than you'd thought! Thats really exciting news...both you and Chloe have some celebrating to do! WOO-HOO!! Julie...yeah I love that slogan!! "I have the dumb"...that part cracks me up! Too bad it applies to me...
  4. April, I think the chemical insults definately contributed to your problems...but I also think there are very likely infections as well. Either as a result of the toxicity in your body from all the exposures...or if something like Lyme were present all along you would be more susceptible to these toxic exposures. The chemical insults from the house...
  5. April....I agree that the price of testing seems high...but I'm not sure all that he's testing. For example...if the Lyme testing consists of Western Blots + co-infections that would raise the price significantly. I paid around $600-$650 for co-infection testing alone! Depending on what he orders the Lyme testing alone could be close to $1000. My...
  6. I agree...I think its a good idea to get as much testing done as you can afford. I've tested for most things that have come up...the ones I tend to skip are the ones that I feel are secondary issues...like adrenals, neurotransmitters...stuff like that. Thats because I cant afford to do *everything*. My conventional Dr. called it Canada as well...
  7. Elisabet...I responded to your thread titled "To Rachel". I dont have the bottle with me...I cant post the brand until I'm home...which will be Sunday.
  8. Its only a matter of time....
  9. Thanks Judy... I got your first PM. You can always send me an email if my box is full. You're probably not in the minority in this thread...my colonoscopy prep was a nightmare! The actual procedure was a breeze.....but the prep was a major heinosity. Very bad reaction to the prep. I think the day I went in for it my mom had to hold...
  10. Elisabet... I dont know anything about PTH or ionized calcium. OK...obviously thats not my field. All that I know about my calcium is that its all out of whack...I'm very deficient. Taking large amounts of calcium doesnt help....it doesnt get to where it needs it go. In my case the problem with metabolizing calcium is more than likely...
  11. You can be very certain that your daughter has Lyme and that you now have an answer....the 39 band is the most specific for Lyme. There is nothing else that would cause that band to be positive. She is symptomatic and has a positive band 39....the LLMD should start treatment based on the results. I'm glad you have an appt. set up. Very good news...
  12. Elisabet, I'm not taking biotin anymore because it wasnt really that helpful for me. I dont recall the brand but I still have it at home. I wont be home until Sunday but I'll check and post that info. here.
  13. Charcoal works great for yeast "die-off". When I was treating yeast (nystatin) I was taking charcoal and it worked for brain-fog better than anything else. I always think of any die-off symptoms as a release of metals...and I do what I can to not let those metals "float" around. Get the toxins out or they will redistribute. Charcoal mops up alot of...
  14. I love how she says this...all nonchalantly...like it happens everyday. Ok...yeah...I could see why Dee would be holding your hand through this. Right now I'm pretty much considering myself lucky cause I only got needles in my head, hands and feet. My drawers stayed on!! I dont know if I could have went through with that.
  15. Paula.. Heres a post I "borrowed" from someone I know on LymeNET....a patient of Dr. K.'s. Shes sharing what she learned from him..
  16. I dont have anything from Dr. K. regarding detox pathways specifically. Is there something that was mentioned before?? I can give you a couple good links with some helpful info. from Dr. K. Open Original Shared Link Open Original Shared Link Hope this helps Laurie.
  17. Dr. K.'s nurse travels to the East Coast often. I think she might be the best person to ask about ART practitioners over there.
  18. Paula...it really *is* less than that! Parasites are not easy to diagnose...there are thousands of them and we only have tests for about 50!! I was probably only tested for about 5 of them in all the stool tests I did. I've always felt pretty certain that I have parasites...heck....all this food's gotta be going somewhere!! I've just...
  19. Yes...the tapeworm came up in my last ART session. I've had several stool tests for parasites but nothing ever showed up. Probably in all of those tests I was only tested for a handful of parasites...I know tapeworm wasnt one of them. I dont believe that I *only* have a tapeworm. I think additional infecdtions will show up in ART as I continue treating...
  20. LOL...I could've written this exactly April!! Sorry Kassandra!
  21. Paula, I'm not a fan of self diagnosing or self treating....only because I've seen many people get worse this way. I knew I had a problem with mercury very early on in my illness but I did not know who to go to for help. I ordered one supplement to detox mercury online....I think I took only one pill and then never touched it again. I had read...
  22. April...this is very true. This is why I never experiment with treatments for killing bugs or moblizing metals without the help of experienced Dr.'s. It CAN be dangerous!! I dont like to give advice as far as what to take for treating infections, chelating metals, etc.. since we are all very different...what works for one person may cause major problems...
  23. I was thinking that since its the body itself which absorbs nutrients and steals calories symptoms would be less noticeable if the worm is smaller in size?? This was from yesterdays Oprah show (the link Patti posted)... So if the body is small I would assume the worm isnt taking as much?? Makes me think my worm must be HUGE. If...
  24. Because of my weight loss parasites were always suspected but never showed up in any stool tests I was given. The conventional Dr.'s were totally clueless about parasites...my Dr. had said that unless I'd been to a third world country I wouldnt have to be worrying about parasites. That Dr. did order tests...but only for a couple parasites. One was...
