  2. i'm not sure about that drug---it is so close to another drug spelling--did you mean xanax because xanax is gluten-free, i know it is, i have taken it before--if it is spelled axanax, then i couldnt find it on my gluten-free listing---try the meds listing in www.clanthompson.com maybe you can find it there, otherwise you will have to call the manufacture...
  3. morning maggie--learn as much as you can in here, unless you have found a very good dietician, he/she probably cant help you --so many dieticians do not have the first idea how a celiac should eat---my sister is a dietician and she has helped doctors to figure out when a patient is celiac, but she is a rarity --she has trained all the personel in her cafeteria...
  4. wonderful---i think you are doing great and it doesnt sound like your expectations are so high that you will be disappointed--thats great--i miss bread so much--sandwiches were my staple-- i tried tapioca bread and it bothered me--the rice bread, i couldnt chew--i threw it out for the birds and it rained for 5 days--i could see the bread was still there...
  5. from what i understand and from everything i have read--celiacs is with us when we are born--it may lay dormant for years and something triggers it at any time of our life--but, we are born with the gene--i guess we thank our parents for that my mom used to say--"sorry i shared the bad things just be lucky you dont have this bright red hair" i just have...
  6. pantene is gluten-free--i use it on all of this hair--it is the only product i use that lets me comb all this hair out with ease--i tried equate's brand of pantene and i couldnt comb my hair---vidal sassoon is gluten-free too, but i still prefer pantene over anything else--never use tressemme--it contains wheat------ deb---by the way--my hair is 22" long...

  10. KVD-- none of our answers are right or wrong--if financially you can afford the testing, then go for it--i do know that many celiacs were told from the biospy that they were not celiacs --you can be gluten intolerant too and not full blown celiac yet--nothing is overkill if it relieves your mind-- you do what you have to do for you--i didnt have medical...
  11. hi melanie---peanut butter doesnt bother me--i use either jif or kroger brand peanut butter--my corn cakes have soy lecithin in them and those do not cause probs either--they tell me its the soy protein that causes the most problems and the proteins arent a problem with lecithin---i guess time will tell---deb
  12. kvogt---constipation yes---not itchy and i am always goofy, that's just me--constipation is new to me, but otherwise soy makes me restless at night, i watch the clock all night and my joint pain comes back with a vengence---the only time i get itchy is when a product like shampoo with wheat gets on my skin and then i tend to get hives for a short time--...
  13. sorry twister---i have been at this for over 3 years--3 yrs 4 months, to be exact and i still make mistakes--manufacturers change ingredients without telling us-- what are they thinking--anyways, sometimes we become to trusting of a product and may not look at the ingredients for a while and bam they change it or they have a product that looks so much like...
  14. sometimes what we feel might be a gluten reaction is just a tummy ache---after going gluten-free your system is hyper sensitive and alcohol hits us like a rock---maybe that is the problem sometimes when we react to the wines---deb
  15. i had broccoli the other night and it tased so good but it didnt agree with me, not one little bit --i have never done well with the broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, brussel sprouts groups of food--i love them, but just way to gassy for me---burdee told me to try beano or excuseme next time and see if that helps--i may just do that---you may not have glutened...
  16. in my opinion, KVD--get started on the gluten free diet--you already had one positive on the blood work--your villi will not instantly repair and if the biopsy is soon, it will still show problems if you go gluten-free now---i would get myself on the road to recovery----will the results of the biopsy make any difference to you as in whether you will go gluten...

  18. welcome maggie---where are you from---i take it rice bothers you, that could limit the cereal you can have--there are corn cereals----if you can eat rice, post fruitty and cocoa pebbles are gluten-free---health valley has rice or corn crunch ums, they are similiar to chex's--there's gorilla munch---cranberry sunshine--i eat quaker cracker jack corncakes ...

  20. hi mcdougal---according to my medications lists--gasX is ok as long as you use the softgels, not the chewables---ibuproven is ok too, just be careful of the brands, i use equate from walmart, i use excedrin, tylenol, advil, nuprin---pepcid is ok as long as you use the AC max tabs, chewable, and complete chewable---i couldnt find benedryl in my listings, call...
