  6. hi esmee--i cant say you are barking up the wrong tree and going gluten free cant hurt you--living without these grains will not cause you damage and it may be the answer you are looking for---you dont have to be full blown celiac to have gluten intolerances--i am not a doctor diagnosed celiac, although my sister is and that increases my odds so much more...
  7. freyausa--have you ever read about sjogrens disease-i think that is how it is spelled--it may be very interesting to you--it was to me----i was diagnosed with carpel tunnel and after a few years i complained of my toes going numb and then i would get this bunch in my shoulder and i was told that the muscles in your hands and feet are all connected and the...

  9. everyone is different---some of us notice immediate change--some take longer to notice and we all have setbacks that make us feel like, "is it all worth it?" and it is worth it---it could take 1 year or 2 years or 5 years for you to heal, but it's worth it--i have been gluten-free for over 3 yrs now and i still make mistakes but, i will never go back to...
  10. sure do and i think it is because we dont absorb our vitamins like we need to before going gluten-free--the pains should lesson as you get the gluten out of your system--i do find that if i do get some gluten or even soy, my pain comes back---but--yes is the answer--you are not alone! deb
  11. none of us can tell you what to do--we can only tell you what our experiences are and as for me--i dont need a doctors diagnosis--someday if money permits, i would like to have enterolab tests done, but if not--doesnt matter--i know i am at the very least gluten intolerant and possibly celiac--my sister is celiac and we have had the very same symptoms forever...
  12. i'm thinking that your real problem is not being able to fall asleep and when you get agitated you just start thinking about those pass days--i know there is no answer to those restless nights--i myself call them "watching the clock nights"--i had one last night myself---maybe if you would try some tylenol PM on those nights--yes, i know it is gluten free...
  13. ummmm i am not a specialist in this area by any means but i am pretty sure that wendy's chili comes to them already made--they arent allowed to use leftover burgers for something like that--the burgers for these places come already frozen to pop on the grill, nothing is fresh with any of them and none of the fast food places make anything from scratch-...
  14. umm i have never used a bread maker to make bread--i have read many say that the bread is better if you make it in your own oven anyways and i do know that our flours are very hard on bread makers----also--id your neighbor gluten-free, cause if she or he isnt and they have used their bread maker with regular flour, then you cant use it--sorry--deb

  17. onamission cute name---anyways--i didnt lose weight until i went gluten-free--i truly believe there are as many heavy celiacs, as underweight--we are all different--a person like me that was heavy before going gluten-free--the weight is just another way our body reacts to not being nourished properly--once i went gluten-free, the weight started coming off...
  18. your nutritionist is so wrong--WE CAN NOT SPLURGE--never, ever--once you have gone gluten-free eating things that contain gluten will probably make you very sick--we can never have gluten again--the nutritionist needs to take some classes--maybe you should give them this forum to read---deb

  20. i know it is very hard to know what is ok and what isnt---yes, mainstream products are safe as long as we read the labels--as far as i know, tums are safe--they are on the celiac.com list of gluten-free items---some frito lay chips are ok, some arent---read, read, read and if in doubt --dont eat the product--sometimes it does seem that gluten is hiding ...
  21. now when i think back--i am wondering if celiacs had anything to do with my cycles---i was quite regular, but had very heavy periods--i was afraid to leave home the 1st 3 days----but, as is true of many celiac women, i went through menopause early--i am 49 now and havent had a cycle now for 3 years and that's ok --my were bad enough--i deserve a break ...
