ARCHIVED My First Dietician Appointment...
Celiac Mindwarp replied to designerstubble's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Yes, I should have said more clearly, ignore the dietician if you want to. As I always like to say, go with your gut . I think nhs dieticians are trained to persuade people not to cut out major food groups. I may not have been entirely accurate in my description of what I was planning to eat after my elimination diet :) -
ARCHIVED My First Dietician Appointment...
Celiac Mindwarp replied to designerstubble's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I had to ditch most of the processed gluten-free food within 6 weeks. I don't know which ingredients upset me, but I have given it up mostly now. I think corn/maize.were maybe a problem, plus all the extra sugar. I have read here about lots of people who struggle with them. I am not sure about the allergy side of things. I think I would at least want epipens... -
ARCHIVED Grumpy, Anger Issues Pop Up...
Celiac Mindwarp replied to LuckyAtlas84's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I was exhausted and stressed during my challenge last summer. I was sleeping 15 hours a day, and could barely drag myself through the day. I also found my gastrointestinal symptoms got worse. I was bad enough after 3 weeks that my doctor told me to stop.in Call your doctor for advice if it gets too bad. My moods started to improve almost as soon as I went... -

We had foam like that last year after storms. It was hilarious, but very odd. IH, maybe you could get some bright lights and cocktails or something. Or maybe this is the perfect time to start practicing speaking dolphin to get ready? Oh, more lamb encores with tomatoes and stuff. -

It was a memorable night Well, I say memorable... -
Ah, but these are at least scrubable. Most of it came off with oven cleaner. Given how much I wipe off on a daily basis I dread to think what the real state of our old chairs was. The sofas are shades of brown (plus yogurt). One day I walked in to find that in the 2 minutes I was in the kitchen my daughter had covered her arms, legs and the sofa in yogurt...

ARCHIVED Reacting To Wheat Vodka? Is That Even Possible?
Celiac Mindwarp replied to ButterflyChaser's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Hahaha - melon vodka was the worst!! I broke out all over my face and body in 2 minutes. I always had a reputation as a lightweight, now I know why -
ARCHIVED Vomiting Phobia And Glutening?
Celiac Mindwarp replied to nostalgic's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Just to add, my anxiety and panic attacks have also gone since I was gluten-free. Anxiety is one of the ways I know I have been glutened. So - you may find gluten-free helps with all that side of things too. It is worth being aware that if you do get anxious, it may be that you have been glutened. If so, hold on.to the fact that it will pass. -
ARCHIVED Finally Seeing A Gi -- Any Advice?
Celiac Mindwarp replied to gatita's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Maybe write down your questions. I always forget by the time I get in the office. My new GI took my paper and wrote to me with answers to all my questions. Wow. -
ARCHIVED Reacting To Wheat Vodka? Is That Even Possible?
Celiac Mindwarp replied to ButterflyChaser's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have reacted to vodka since my 20s, with vomiting and instant skin rashes. I gave up in the end. I gave up all alcohol in the end 15 years later. Flavored vodkas were the worst (and the worst times were in Italy, as it happens). I have NCGI. -

Yep - lamb encores, with mushroom and tomato, cooked in garlic and coconut milk. My tastebuds have gone really weird since this elimination diet. I had tuna with stir fried brussell sprouts and anchovies for lunch. Worse than when I was pregnant I think (and before you ask, nooooooo) I was thinking a different thing on rate my professor, ooops..... -
ARCHIVED Vomiting Phobia And Glutening?
Celiac Mindwarp replied to nostalgic's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I can only answer for myself - I am non celiac gluten intolerant, and my glutening symptoms are pretty much as before, if a bit stronger. I don't think I have any new symptoms, so maybe that is how it will be for you. So I get tiredness, migraine, brain fog, gastro problems. Everyone is different. Not everyone gets symptoms from glutening. Whatever it... -
ARCHIVED Opinions Requested..gastro Doc Sent Me A Letter...
Celiac Mindwarp replied to designerstubble's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms
I had a dietican appointment recently, and found that she didn't know much about celiac(e,g, said that I souldn't need vitamins etc as long as I was eating a healthy diet - er, never heard of malabsorbtion???) but she was helpful on a general level to make sure that what I am eating gluten-free is nutritionally balanced. I basically told her what I was going... -
ARCHIVED Can Celiac Or Food Allergies Cause Post Nasal Drip?
Celiac Mindwarp replied to MoMof2Boyz's topic in Celiac Disease Pre-Diagnosis, Testing & Symptoms

ARCHIVED Being Glutened
Celiac Mindwarp replied to Flaykee's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I told my husband we would have to go totally gluten-free if I didn't stop getting glutened (5 times in 6 weeks). Strangely, I have been fine for the past month..... -
ARCHIVED Feeling Overwhelmed And Hopeless
Celiac Mindwarp replied to FrumpyWife's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Oh, and James Welbeloved do gluten-free pet foods. We found it as cheap as what we were using before! From pet shops, and their customer care line is very helpful! Our cat has a new lease of life since we switched her on to it. If he hasn't finished testing, he should stillbe eating gluten, for both blood tests and biopsy. Your doctor should know this... -
ARCHIVED Feeling Overwhelmed And Hopeless
Celiac Mindwarp replied to FrumpyWife's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Hi I am in the UK, so maybe I can give you a few starters here. First of all though, it looks like this has brought up all sorts of marraige issues. I guess you have to do something there too. If he has only recently stopped drinking, there are probably a whole host of things going on for you and him. Maybe you can get some support for this side of things...
