  1. Jillian welcome to the boards I am in the UK too, and have also been regarded as a nutter for suggesting my many symptoms might be linked. I moved and my new doctortook me seriously. I couldn't eat enough gluten for testing so have negative blood and biopsy. However, based on history and reaction to eating gluten and gluten-free diet my GI diagnosed...
  2. That is EXACTLY what the internet is for, fantastic. Would it be impractical to make cabana boys from bacon?
  3. Thank goodness it wasn't too bad. Parents definitely deserve ice cream on days like that! Great the diet is going well, good luck with results.
  4. (((((((Hugs)))))))
  5. Shadow, glad things are improving. When I has mine done it was on my face and I had to leave it on 5 days without peeking. Even without a latex allergy I wanted to scratch my face of by then. Then I had to cover it another week. Arrggh. Much sympathy
  6. Resurrecting thread. It was originally set up to stay on topic (not discussions!) so - My Whole30 breakfast was burger, sweet potato, avocado, egg, coconut oil, black redbush tea
  7. Purple toaster,
  8. I did have a small handful of macadamias mid afternoon when I thought I might keel over, but that was because my daughter woke at 5 this morning. I had my decaf with creamed coconut. The milk I tried a few weeks ago was better. My tum feels happy, full but light if that makes any sense. I confess I spent some time looking at suitable mayo recipes earlier...
  9. High 5 for day 1. I have sent Mr Mindwarp to the shops to get more meat veg and eggs . I am having encores for breakfast. That should make him wince, he is not a fan of sprouts or mornings...
  10. Unless we have just found a recruiting ground. I may not be helping. Burgers, sweet potatoes, sprouts, carrots, broccoli and avocado oil. So far so good.
  11. Tuna salad leaves tomatoes cucumber olives avocado evoo wine vinegar black pepper. Yum. ( look, no cheese)
  12. All my gluten-free equipment is purple and fantastic! Good heads up on the fire issues, I have one ready for travel.
  13. Worth learning to pronounce prosciutto . And I am sure someone's Grammy ate it...
  14. Anyone can make any disease sound horrific if they string together enough negative research. I am not saying it is not very very tough sometimes, and many people on the board have had massive health problems. But, many people go on and lead good long and happy lives too. We sure do need more research, but I am unsure of the motivation of this particular...
  15. That's it, I am now officially free from all kinds of stuff. Some of which I can't even pronounce. Wish me luck, or something . What's really scary is I gave up drink years ago (combination of interesting rashes and idiocy). But can you imagine what I was like when I was drinking? Weeeeeeeee
  16. Woohoo Ski Depends how bad the various withdrawals are. Trails of blood(y Mary's)?
  17. Yes but what was one originally tying on? And on to what? Whatever it was can't be as bad as the pictures in my head right now. I don't think we do that over here...:/
  18. Thanks burdee . My previous eliminations have revealed caffeine, sesame, aspartame etc, alcohol, corn. I have always struggled with sugar, and find it hard to limit. This has been the case for several things I have excluded. I wonder if it is coming to the fore now the gluten has gone. I was chatting on another thread about the difficulties of getting...
  19. I think I will try the whole30 so I know I am not ingesting gluten, and if I am still getting hit regularly try and persuade the house to go gluten-free, at least for a trial. Sigh.
  20. Wow, Karen, you weren't joking on the cheese thing . For the record, Irish and I agreed to start on 2nd, so your cheese taunts mean nothing (yet....). Can you imagine anything more hilarious than the 2 of us keeping each other on the straight and narrow?!
  21. Lovely ski. How fantastic to be back doing what you love. All smiles here for you xx
  22. I had to give up coffee and tea and caffeine sodas 9 years ago. I now have a couple of small teas a week but get a bit of reflux. I don't know if it is related to the celiac, but I uncovered it when doing an elimination diet when I also lost wheat. Wish I had known then what gluten is...
  23. Having seen me ill so much Mr Mindwarp is getting closer to going for a gluten-free house... I will call and see if my sons blood tests are in as we agreed whole house if son is positive. My theory is that if I still get glutened on wholefoods it must be cc. Thanks both
  24. Hi I have had great improvements on the gluten-free diet but I have got a bit stuck. I think I have managed to gluten myself 5 times in 6 weeks. My symptoms are day 1 extreme tiredness and mood swings, day 2 migraine, day 2to3 sickness and D followed by a few days feeling run down. The only other thing I have noticed is that it seems worse if I have much...
