  1. I would be glad to have the list of gluten free-fast foods. But I am a totally moron regarding the computer. They are all opened by WORD. Is there any way to to access the

Is there a way to access the list by other means. Without my girls here to help me I cant open the WORD file, it say "no file can be found" and therefore I don't know where to go from there.

Help. (Just remember there are no dumb questions here :( )

I would love to copy the fast food list and Outback list and others.

Sorry computer dumb. Any help would be grateful.

  2. Idealy, I would like to stay at the weight that I am now and just build up muscles. I guess more fruit and less carbs would help. I have never been in the 120's since I was in my late teens.

I have head from people that I know, they they all thought that I was anorexic and now the word is getting out that I had a diatary problem, they all seem to want to comment safely now. I had one friend comment how good that I looked now. (I wonder what they thought when I was sick...whew!) AND NO ONE TOLD ME.......go figure.

    Thanks for your input.

Your daughters Adderal may take some time to settle in. Give this some time. Many doctors are quick to prescribe Adderal, so pleae check her attitude and place in life and age appropriate actions. Monitor this closely. I can not stress this as being so very important. I don't know her age, but some teenagers and young adult can have a very advere reaction to these drugs. I know from personal experience.

Regarding your possible inherited celiac disease, yes, if that is what you may have, it is possible that she may have inherited the gene that would pass on the disease (or the tendency) to aquire the disease at some point in their life.

Celiac Disease in an inherited autoimune disease. It can be unsymptomatic for many years and then a period of high stress, a pregnancy, and illness, or other tramatic situation which will jolt your system into triggering Celiac Disease. Ater that your life changes and diet is you world until you get the hang of it.

It is not life threatning and a very fruitfull life can be had, just an adjustment to your diet.

I am sorry that I have talked so long, but I hope that this will be helpful.

  4. Therein is much misinformation. We all rely on this post for the most accurate information. I may have been guilty of this myself, but please do no post something that is safe when it cannot be firmly verified.

Products are most confusing for all of us, other than those who have been doing this for years. I myself am just a few months into this. I rely on accurate sources, those that I can seek out myself, the delfi list and those on the post that have been doing research for an extended time.

If there is any doubt, check with the companies. :)

  5. Is this unusual for a weight gain of 10 lbs in 4 weeks? I have tried to be gluten free as best as I am able at this time. Sure doing my best.

I don't feel that is have a casin intollerance, but I drank a McD's vanilla shake at work and it left me in about a half hour. Other dairy products to do not affect me as I have noticed.

I would like to add that I have started with Lexipro about four weeks ago.

Question is: Could absorbing issues contribute to the weight gain, or could the lexipro add to this individually or in conjunction?

I would use some weight as I am 5'8" and have VERY thin limbs, but all the weight always goes to the torso. Sort of like a watermellon on toothpicks. Very attractive  and hard as **** to buy fitting clothes.

Can I find a witness?, or comments.

  6. Rachel:

As simple as you stated that, I still don't understand. You don't need to reply it, it will ingest it, tomorrow yes. :)

But, this is what I don't understand, that during a flare up in small intestine inflamation, why would and antibiotic dose be appropriate? There are abvious "coodies" there, and why would not the antibiotics work against the gluten attack?

In other words, why wouldn't the antibiotics fight the gluten attack in the sm. intestines and clear up the issue, at least for the time being

I opt for spell chek for this forum? That would be a good thing.

  7. J:

DO NOT GO GLUTEN FREE UNTIL YOUR TEST RESULTS COME IN. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. EAT BREAD AND PIZZA AND WHATEVER YOUR WANT TO, JUST DON'T GO GLUTEN FREE UNTILL YOUR TEST RESULTS COME IN.

This is important for accurate testing. Keep us posted and let is us know your results. There is a gold mind of information here, when you are ready.

  8. We all wish for that. In the days that I have spend hours in the grocery store I have realized that more and more product do present with "gluten free" and it is a joy to buy it. I have so much in my pantry that I bought, just because it said gulten free. I may not even have the need for it. But, you do have to understand that we are the underdogs here, but with a big voice. Change comes slowly. Maybe the next five years will be wonderous for us, but for now checking ingredience is a must.

The best way to change the labeling issue is to continually e-mail or call on 800 numbers and tell them that there are many of us here and without lableing their produces better we will not consume.

Write and e-mail as many producers as we are able.

We have dollars to purchase their products, let them know that we will buy them if they indicate that they are safe for us to purchase.....the old supply and demand. Well..........let's make it demand and then they will supply.

    How about that. :):)

  9. What richard says is correct, but I also understand your misgivings. When you are learning to read lables and doing your research it does get very confusing. There are often very big words regarding ingrediences that you don't know what they are.

The best thing to to is to do a search here on the site and study, study, study. Nine times out of ten your question has been asked and it can be searched here. Get your masters in reading ingrediences. I assure you that it will get better.

Keep on plugging along. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

I have been here for almost five months and I have learned an enormous amount of information, and I feel, that I am just beginning. Our time is just as valuable as yours, but we are all the same here.

    Keep on.

  10. My hands tremer (shake) often and I am not sure that it is side effect of beling "glutened".

To explain, when you type your hands don't seem to hit the right keys, when you hold a glass of water with ice, the ice rattles in the glass, you sometimes drop things and basically feel like you would feel comming in from the cold and shivering.

This could come from gluten, or from dehydration from the "D" when glutened. It's quite a bother and it seems for me, in association with what we call "brain fog".

If I can answer any more questions I will as well as inpute from other board member. Hope this will be helpful for you some.

  11. Kaiti:

Just remember that I am glutened tonite.....So anything the I buy that says "gluten free" that it is safe.?

If it is wheat free, I need to check the ingredience? Correct?

Checking out Amy's Indian Frozen foods for breakfast (I know many may choke on my breakfast choice, but I don't like breakfast food, too blah)..........After that eating turkey for three weeks. <_<

  12. Wierd new visions here on the new format...wow.

Keep on trying. Grandmothers have done so many things like they have always done. If they continue to buy goodies that are not appropriate, maybe you can use the "risk of cancer" and that may get there attention and maybe they will relay more on what you instruct them to do.

My kids have never known a grandmother. So cherish them and their well wishes. but you must teach them without alienating (sp) them. They mean well, just don't understand. So give them more of a cause to help their grand daughters health.

    Hope this will help you.
