As was mentioned, it is often hard to convey a "tone" on the internet. I believe that the benefit of doubt should always take the high road.
  7. I would buy products from these companies who will clearly list all forms of gluten, and not hide them in "natural flavors".   9. I do wish you will reconsider your departure. Although, on occassion some of our discussion may be a little heated, they are not without great resource sharing. I'm pretty sure they they test their products for quality controll regarding the gluten free status of their products, and they have dedicated facilities.   13. Well, that is subject to much debate here, but the experts state that the gluten molecule is too large to be absorbed through the skin. Although, some skin care products can find their way into your mouth, which is the concern. Those a gluten allergy could be concerned with skin care products. There is lots to learn about Celiac Disease.

  19. Labeling a product as "gluten free" is totally voluntary at this point. Determinations are curently being studing to standardize the term. 10ppm is considered a safe level for people with Celiac to consume. If your son is very sensitive to the smallest amoung of gluten, I would choose another product. Metamucil capsules and Citrucel is gluten free....
  20. ANY distilled alcohol is considered safe for people with Celiac to consume. Bourbon would be safe, even though it's grain based, because it's distilled.   22. Oat are naturally gluten free, but there is a high risk for cross contamination in the field, harvesting and manufacturing. There are some dedicated oats in the market place.
