  1. Good Grief Andi.....I think that you have changed my mind. I should be quite content to watch my twenty year old cat breath. I am a little terrier shy. When our Bull Terrier's ball rolled under the sofa, he just moved the sofa to reach the ball, ate the vacume and walked through the screen door whenever he wanted to go outside. We have generally...
  2. I was gluten free for over a year when I started issues with dairy. That period lasted about six months. I gradually introduced it to my diet and now I don't appear to have any issues at all. I hope the same for you.
  3. Hello All - We are looking into a new pup. Jack Russells have always interested me. We used to have a Bull Terrier (dog from *ell and a very long, funny story) and never again. I can handle a Jack. Has anyone had any experience with Jack Russells? Advise welcome. Edit: Could someone please add an extra "l" to my subject line.
  4. I had the pleasure of rubbing shoulders with Tom during lunch.....and quite a handsome Woodly Harrelson he was (is)! (Sorry guys...Now, he'll act like a genuine tamponhead, with a stuck up attitude and a swelled ego)
  5. Welcome Jamie, First, take a deep breath. The beginning is the hardest time. This is a great place for information and support. There is no need to rush out and buy specific gluten free foods. I did that in the beginning also and six months later, I threw it all out. As close as you are to your transition, you will find that they are not very...

    ARCHIVED Nausea

Nausea is my own internal alarm that tells me to look for the bathroom, now.
  7. One If gluten is your only issue, yes it makes a tremendous difference. The ONLY way to be truly free of the symptoms of Celiac is to be totally compliant to the diet and the possibilities of cc. It's been over two years for me and it is hard to remember how sick I actually was.
  8. Yes, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I was diagnosed with something that they called Celiac Disease in August of 2004. As many of you, I learned what it was from the Internet, which found me here. The first year was a bit wild. Learning and confidence took a good part of a year. The second year after being diagnosed was a creative one...
  9. Marcia, If you were loosely diagnosed with Celiac, do you follow the diet loosely as well? I would revisit your diet and make sure that it's clean from gluten including lipsticks, shampoos, shared toaster or cc from home or restaurants. If your rash does not clear up, then perhaps see a doctor.

    ARCHIVED Good News

I can hear the excitement in your voice. Great for you Ali!
  11. With Celiac Disease, gluten will set off an autoimmune reaction in the small intestines which caused damage. With a gluten sensitivity, you will have the same symptoms as with Celiac, but the damage will not occur. It is thought the a sensitivity may be a precursor to Celiac
  12. Make something that is gluten free and share with everyone. That way they will know that you can enjoy some of the same things that other people do. Double Chocolate Brownies would be a good thought.
  13. The natural flavors could mean barley or malt as they are not considered the top 8 allergins. With that said, I do not buy this product and usually make my own soup. Perhaps others have confirmation from the company or eat it without issues.
  14. Welcome Peter, you did it right! But, sorry not from Florida.
  15. I can find them at our local Food Lion or Farm Fresh in the health food section.
  16. The best one that I have enjoyed is "KIND" Fruit and Nut Bar, which is Australian. It's really good and all natural, gluten free, wheat free, dairy free.
  17. These are some or all of the tests your Primary Doctor may order: IgC Antigliadin IgA Antigliadin tTG Antigliandin IgC Tissue Translutaminase IgA Tissue Transglutaminase Total IgA
  18. I shared a Picazzo's Pizza with some friends recently. It was four cheese's and thats what I would like to reproduce. Yum, it was the best ever.
  19. What is you favorite pizza topping?
  20. In the beginning, I found that salads in general were pretty hard for me to digest and left me with some uncomfort. It may take a while to know the difference between not being healed and a glutened experience.
  21. Susan gave you some great advise. This forum can be your lifeline. You will find no better experts or advise anywhere. Read as much as you are able to consume. If it has to do with Celiac Disease or Gluten Intollerence, it's been discussed here. Welcome!
  22. You've been missed larry mac. Hope you are doing better, and a belated birthday to you!
  23. Trick or Treat!
  24. Hey stranger!!!! Good to see you again Carrie. My current craving is Vann's Waffles with PB and Jam. I alway have some brown rice in the fridge (cooked with Swanson's chicken broth) which is always handy for a quick breakfast with a fried egg.
