  1. Hey Tori Glad that you FINALLY found us! We have lots of teens here and they love to chat. I'm glad that you love to cook and here on this site we have some really drop dead recipes. You have alot to explore here. My daughters rode English also. They got involved in combined training and loved it. Girls and horses are special. Well...
  2. Thanks to everyone for their birthday wishes. I think it's about time that Scott leaves our ages off the birthday list. I'm with you Jestgar! I had a great lunch with the Chic's, dinner tonight with friends and the family dinner tomorrow night. Life is good. There are some really great people here and I've made some forever friends. Thank...
  3. You are quite lucky to have you symptoms turn around in such a short time. It takes some many months to feel a differences and many several years to completely heal. You could be gluten sensitive or have an allergy (to include topical issues). I glad that you continue to feel better.
  4. kbtoyssni also commented on this statement. "You need to look for anything with Modified food starch...that's flour." IS NOT CORRECT Modified Food Starch in the US is corn derived unless otherwise stated...it is not FLOUR.
  5. I get my blood work done about once a year to make sure everything is within range. I am great now, but last year I was low in Folic Acid and B-12. During that time, I felt that my equilibrium was out of wack and low energy. I had B-12 shots once a week for a month, then every month for a bout six months. It made a great difference. I think it very...
  6. Great Idea! There are so many people that I often wonder about. I'd love to hear from them.
  7. After a much debated 17 page thread, it was concluded and verified that the "glue" in paper towels and toilet paper is composed of Modified Corn Starch - Not of a gluten worry.
  8. "Wheat", "Barley", "Rye", "Malt" - clearly
  9. I tried to post a link and unable too. Google "Gluten Free Candy List" and you will find the 2006 ROCK List. It's not guarenteed current, but close. Happy Halloween!
  10. Sometime, randomly that will happen to me. As you said, go to Options and click onto Standard. That should bring you back to normal postings and viewing.
  11. B-12 helped me tremendously with the dizzies.
  12. Violet, My heart goes out to you and all your friends as I watch the scenes on TV. I have lived through a natural disaster, but yet, I can't imagine a fire and the domino effect it eventually will have. I hope that everyone will be safe.
  13. McD's fries have been discussed here at great length. You can do a search here to get both points of view. With that said, the Celiac Sprue Association had deemed McD's Fries to be safe for Celiacs to consume. They do have dedicated friers. I eat them without issue. It's a personal choice.
  14. I am sorry that you are going through some tough times. I think everyone of us who have had children have experienced times like this. I have had many a tear in my eye when I left the room. Teenagers are inherently self-centered and they are struggling with the loss of their comfortable childhood and finding their place in an adult world. They fit into...
  15. Thanks Scott. Much appreciated.
  16. I raised two ( <-------- those two). Now 23 and 26 they realised that home and family have a new importance. The advise that I would share is.....That when they do and say things to get a reaction or are being insightful, DON'T react. Have a blank expression on your face. It will drive them up a wall!!!
  17. Yes, it is gluten free. Just found out.
  18. Wasn't it Katherine Hepburn who said "Old age ain't for sissies"? Hummm Does anyone know of the gluten free status of Simvastatin (generic Zocor)? Thanks,
  19. Lisa

    ARCHIVED Site Index

Yes, I get the same. Obviously, the site is getting some formatting updates. When you click on site index, it will redirect you by way of www.celiac.com. Click on that and it will bring you to the new format and on the left side of the new green page you will find the previous information on the old site index. Or you can choose the "Site Map" on...
  20. oh oh oh..... That is what I am getting sporatically--- Clicking on "last unread" button and it will take me to the first post of the thread (and I have already read that and several after that). Same as Peter.
  21. I am sure that Scott would like to know about these inconsistencies.
  22. Sandi, You did not offend anyone.
  23. ...or too dumb to know the difference!
  24. Welcome to the forum! I would suggest that you go dairy light or eliminate it all together. After some healing time you can introduce it again. Have you checked your cosmetics, medications, vitamins, shampoo, toothpaste, lotions. Do you use a separate dedicated toaster, old wooded utensils or shared scratched pots and pans. I have never heard of...
  25. Now, some of the blue cheeses are made with a synthetic starter, as opposed to wheat starters. I would suggest calling the company. There are many brands of blue cheeses' that are gluten free. I doubt that you daughter is a fan of blue cheese, though. Most cheeses, soft or hard are gluten free. Kraft is a company that will list all ingredients and...
