    ARCHIVED Changes

Not real computer savey here. I went to view - text size and the list of Gluten Free Items (on the left margin) got bigger, but the post page is the same. My e-mail is also larger as I changed the setting. Post pages remain the same.
  2. Oh yes! This is what sent me to the doctors - flaming poop and yellow in color with no warning. It felt like all my stomach acids were leaving my body. Yup, gluten.
  3. Suzanne, Yes, all cokes, seven-up, sprite and pepsi are gluten free. Now, with that said some people here do react to caramel color, but it is considered safe for Celiacs. Welcome to the forum. Here is a list of companies who will always clearly list wheat, barley, rye and malt. It will be a great help to you when looking for safe products. ...
  4. Some people here are non-symptomatic. The only reason they were diagnosed with Celiac is because other issues raised their head like thyroid, diabetes, malabsorption, fibromyalgia.... You can try the diet for several weeks and see if you find improvements in your health. But to have the blood panel or the endoscopy exam with biopsy you must remain on...
  5. Joni, I don't know if this is similar to you, but... I had been gluten free for about a year when I started to have a problem with dairy. Four months later, I could handle it with no problem. Everyone is different. Maybe, it took me about a year to settle down from the gluten when the dairy showed itself. Try to be dairy light and see if you feel...
  6. Matty, Celiac has over 200 symptoms and yes, you do have some. I would recommend that you have a full celiac blood panel. Your primary doctor can have it done. Some allergy testing may indicate some sensitivities as well. A low tolerance for cold can indicate a thyroid issue. Read here and see if there is a fit .
  7. I think that many doctors studied "sprue" in med school. Non-tropical Sprue, really kinda makes me laugh. Sound very exotic, doesn't it?
  8. Someone sent me a wonderful e-mail and of course I deleted it. I am going to do this for Thanksgiving - Place aluminum foil on the Turkey in the shape of a bikini (top and bottom). When the turkey is finished in the oven it comes like a Turkey with a tan.
  9. What are you eating during the period while you are nursing? Are you gluten free?

I don't have any concerns regarding the color and I am sure that this is work in progress. I like it. I do find it difficult, especially as a moderator, to read the grey thread topics (the black subtopics seem to stand out more). The "go to last unread" is not illuminated (which tells me there is a new reply) as it was with the blue version. ...

Many people here do react to gluten in shampoo or hair product. There are many options for gluten free hair products.

Welcome and Thanks. That site will help a lot of people.
  15. Yes, there is a light. I was diagnosed August 2005 and today I am 100% free of Celiac symptoms. I had a short time with a diary intolerance but that is now relieved. I feel that it is an impossibility to be 100% gluten free and in the past year, I am sure that I have been exposed to gluten, yet I no longer react. As I stated on another thread...
  16. Paula, I sympathize so much for you and I have no answers. Without creating a new level of conflict for you, but what role does his father have in this situation. Certainly, I do hope that he is sharing some of this difficult time with you and the family. While he is in school, treat yourself to something wonderful. Get a manicure, a massage...
  17. Walnuts are naturally gluten free, just read the labels for anything added.
  18. Good going Jess!!! You go girl!

  20. Joni, I think we have a few members here that are military wives, with their spouses posted in Iran.

Welcome Kamper! It sounds like me that you are one of us already (just awaiting testing ). Your symptoms as well as your strong family history points in that direction. Whether or not your testing indicates Celiac, a positive dietary response is the best diagnosis....and it don't cost a thing. I am happy for you. It sounds like this may...
  22. Happy Birthday Tiffany. Hope you have a wonderful day.
  23. Before that question can be answered, we have to know what your testing results were/are. "I don't have full blown celiac" - sticks out like a sore thumb to me. With Celiac, you either have it or you don't, and there are no degrees of Celiac. If you have been tested positive in any degree, you do have Celiac and it is a diet for life.
  24. Most of the time, just reading the labels will be sufficient to determine if a product contains gluten. It is helpful to purchase from known companies that list all gluten. Any product that contains wheat, it is required by law to list it as an ingredient. Next time, try Swansons Chicken or Beef Broth, they are gluten free.
  25. Yes, the BRAT diet can help ease the symptoms, a little. Banana, Rice, Apple Sauce and Tea.
