  1. glad to hear things are improving! here's a thread you might find helpful: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/105648-exocrine-pancreatic-insufficiency/ I'm currently taking Creon. Recently, I was excited because my pancreatic elastase testing was initially a 72, and anything under 100 is classified as severe pancreatic insufficiency. However I...
  2. so I never came back to post, and my favorite chips were safe, but due to knew manufacturing procedures they no longer are. It was like having the wind knocked out of my sails when I saw the new packaging and the line on the back that said, "Processed on a production line with other products that contain milk, wheat and soy." 3. Sadly, Dr. Singhania is no longer with the practice.
  4. Talk about a delayed response on my part I'm doing well! I will admit I am a little upset to a certain extent because I had my DGP IGG level tested again in August, and it rose 4 points, and I'm still in the slightly positive range. I do my absolute best with CC, and I still do not eat out very frequently. I always keep this thread in the back of my...
  5. I found this article an interesting read: Open Original Shared Link The writers compiled important points from forty-nine different papers for this article. I recently had my nutritional levels tested again, and there was a 300 point drop in my B-12 level, but then I read this: "A condition of pancreatic insufficiency can also contribute to lower...
  6. I second this!! I eat the Lundberg sushi rice for breakfast most mornings. Since I still can't eat oats, this has about the same consistency.
  7. So I've got to say I love when companies take the guess work out of things I went to Whole Foods the other day, and they started carrying the new Jason line of certified gluten-free facial products, which are also fragrance free. Here's a link to the line: Open Original Shared Link The line was available at the Whole Foods in Glen Mills, PA.
  8. I cannot eat oats. I think it was back in January I tried a small bit of the Udi's granola, and then I felt bloated and depressed for the next four days. I may be able to tolerate them again in time, but let's just say I'm not in a rush to feel that way again
  9. glad testing is going well!!
  10. I experience that falling feeling too!! Thinking about it, that only happens maybe once every other week now. I feel like I'm falling, and then I have what I pretty much equate to a full body spasm. It's a strange feeling. Before going gluten-free, my big toe would move on its own. It sounds strange, but I would sit in bed and watch it move without having...
  11. Hi SMRI, She is IgA deficient, but they did not run a total IgG test for her based on what I'm reading. Since she is IgA deficient, the rest of her IgA based tests are useless. It's good that they ran the DGP IgG test although that is negative as well. Based on these results, she doesn't appear to have it, but with the family history, I think more...
  12. So this will be my first annual exam where I can tell my GP I have now been doctor diagnosed with celiac disease and exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. I plan on taking him a copy of all my testing since last year. Since I know follow-up testing is important, and should be done yearly by your GP, what tests should I be requesting? I want to set the tone...
  13. Hi greenbeanie! I'm glad your doctor is starting to take notice! If Vitamin K comes back abnormal, I would see if you can get Vitamins A, D and E checked as well. I was bruising easily, and thought I was anemic, but instead it was vitamin K deficiency. Despite massive supplementation, my vitamin K was not climbing, which prompted the doctor to test...
  14. Hahahaha Karen I completely missed this post from earlier. I've been enjoying dating this summer but did have a bit of a freak out the other night. I went to kiss this guy, locked lips and then realized, "oh no!! he drank beer earlier :(" I stopped mid-lock...killed that moment, asked for some water to swish out my mouth, and he promptly...
  15. so it ended up not working out with that guy due to major character flaws on his part, but from every experience we gain new insight I haven't been posting a lot because instead of moping around like my pre-gluten-free self would have done, I decided to just get back out there. My go to date restaurant is Iron Hill Brewery. They have been very accommodating...
  16. I go in phases with gluten-free bread between buying it and not eating it. The last time I decided to buy bread again, I had limited options, but the white bread from Glutino was available. This is buy far the best tasting gluten-free bread I've had! Toasting it with jelly or eating it untoasted doesn't matter because it doesn't fall apart, and it is delicious...
  17. This pasta is awesome!! I've never been a huge pasta fan, but thinking back, that's because it used to make me feel terrible and bloated after eating it. Another warning sign I didn't realize at the time They make elbow, penne, rotini and spaghetti shaped noodles, and they are delicious. I highly recommend it!
  18. With the connection part, if it's meant to happen, it will! I focused on the things I knew we had in common first. I did not eat out for a very long time, but the longer I've been gluten free the stronger and more confident I've become. Call the restaurant ahead. I usually call and ask first if they have a gluten free menu, and if that's a yes, then...
  19. hi georgia_guy, here's a thread I started awhile back that may be helpful: https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/106154-dating-thoughts-and-profile-help/ There are girls and guy out there who will understand, and see you who for you really are. Remember you have celiac disease, but celiac doesn't define you PS-Here's a comical part from the thread...
  20. hi spiritwalk, Get those vit/min levels checked! I was deficient in vitamins D and K despite massive supplementation. They would barely move up at all. My GI doctor tested me for fat malabsorption and pancreatic insufficiency, and I was diagnosed with both. There are a few things that can cause pancreatic insufficiency, and celiac is one of them....
  21. for those worried about oat CC, please check out this thread when I e-mailed KIND earlier this year with that question. Their oat containing products are made on separate lines than the nut bar products. https://www.celiac.com/forums/topic/106422-kind-nut-products/?hl=%2Bkind+%2Bbars
  22. the Celiac Diva posted this question on her Facebook page the other day. check out some of those comments!
