  1. I didn't lose 94 pounds but I went from 106 to 94 in a year's timeframe....still eating like a pig until gluten free a couple of months ago. I've always been thin, late bloomer as a child and had the symptoms for years. Felt better a few years ago and then bam, back again.
  2. Awww - lucky you have such a nice guy! My husband is very understanding also. Yes, I forgot to mention the dark circles under my eyes that I would cake w/ makeup but they are pretty much gone now. I feel for you - hope your itching calms down! Well tonight I start off my glutening with an extremely strong microbrew beer! Cheers! If I'm gonna get sick...
  3. Good luck w/ your endo and colonoscopy - I have my endo next Friday. Years ago I had an endo and was dx'd with IBS. Got some meds and felt better and then last year BAM - all the symptoms are back. About your rash - same thing with me. It doesn't cover my whole body but when I'm "glutened" and feeling crummy I get the same rashes - one on my chest, a...
  4. Hello, Well, it's been over 2 months that I have gone gluten-free and I have no complains with the diet - I can't believe how crappy I used to eat so I'm happy I eat more fruits, veggies and hardly any processed garbage anymore. I know I have accidentally glutened myself a few times because my stomach problems start up again and normally last for 2 days...
  5. In about a week my stomach pain went away, my constipation/D problems almost gone, much better mood...I was crabby more than happy. Haven't had any headaches.
  6. If I could have only put the pieces of the puzzle together....years for me.... Neck pain & headaches Joint pain Bad stomach cramps and gas, sometimes doubled over after eating pasta and breads, especially pizza and Chinese food Bloating immediately after eating (Dx'd as IBS-C) Hardly had periods Insomnia Anxiety Sweating then chills for no reason...
  7. I used to have neck pain and tightness in my right shoulder, traveling up my neck which would then turn into a headache. Been going on for years. I went to osteopaths, had exrays that came out fine, neurologists found nothing, finally ended up in pain management for it. At the same time I had other symptoms...stomach problems, lots of constipation, some D...
  8. In took it but didn't like how expensive it was and not sure if it even helped. Went through one box and it cost $40. I am on Culturelle now for 2 weeks and it is a little cheaper and my bowel movements are regular ... No D or C anymore.
  9. Can they go to an Italian Restaurant that makes gluten free pizza? We have one in town and we all go out...they get their stuff and I eat my pizza which I like. And hugs to you because it is hard with family get together involving food. My mother in law is kind enough to make gluten free when she has us over for dinner. Also plain meats, veggies and sweet...
  10. Hi, I had my gallbladder out in July.....many stones but no pain that most people have. I felt generally lousy for years, bloated, gastro problems, fatty foods and all the processed junk I ate was finally doing me in. I didn't have the pain up high... Just on my side after eating. First the regular gp doc thought it was my appendix... That turned out fine...
  11. Guess I will need more blood work again but I will do it. I do have the stick under your tongue b12 but I will get it all checked out.
  12. They are cute dogs but do not stop until it is bed time lol! Good luck with your endo and glad your thyroid is OK:-)
  13. About a year ago my GP said I was deficient in b12, D, and folic acid. He wanted me to have b12 shots. Never mentioned celiac to me although I had many symptoms and my gastro said I would feel better going gluten free which I have done. Now I am supposed to get glutened for a while in order to get an endoscopy which I don't want to go near gluten. In trying...
  14. Hi, Sorry you aren't feeling well but sounds like your doctor is right on. Years ago I had an endoscopy and was diagnosed with IBS-C. I was given Zelnorm and Nexium and sent on my way. Fast forward 7 years and all the symptoms came back..... Bloating, gas, constipation with D in between and the weight loss which is scaring me. I am not losing any more weight...
  15. I hear you on that..my mother in law cooks for us every Monday. She is really truing to stick to gluten free. She made stew the other night, said no gluten in it but I was sick hours after eating it. I got sick on her food last week too.
  16. Hi, I had hair loss too...clogging the shower and back then I was dx'd hypothyroid.....that was 2 years ago. Also it grew slowly, along with my nails that became dry, ridgey and brittle and hardly grew. I have been gluten free almost 5 weeks now, hair isn't falling out as much, skin and nails are much better.....now if I can gain some weight!
  17. I still don't sleep well even after gluten free so I take Benadryl. It helps a little.
  18. Hope you feel better soon. I went gluten free a month ago and feel a whole lot better. I know that in order to get the blood work done I need to get sick again....not sure I can go through that again. Gastro said try this first. I had back pain too, neck and head pain, bloating, rashes and felt sick and lethargic ,most of the time and wanted to crawl in bed...

  20. I see Dr. Burns in Trumbull. I also see Ann Zylic who is his PA. They are great....belong to the Primed Group.
  21. Hi' I have been gluten free for a month now. I have substituted breads with gluten free ones. All the junk food I loved I have substituted with Glutino brand sea salt crackers and their regular crackers. Their vanilla dream cookies are good too. If I want dip, I buy gluten free hummus. I tried tostitos and their gluten free dips but got sick on them. I eat...
  22. When I had it done years ago I had "twilight". I was awake but didn't remember a thing. Husband had to bring me. Slept good afterwards:-)
  23. Omg Gemini.....people stare at my dad too. My mom has to buy gluten free pasta and bread for me when I get down there so he will he eating it too and we won't tell him....not that he eats much anymore which is so sad. I can't stop him from doing his thing but maybe once he sees how thin I got since the last time I was down there, he will humor me and eat...
  24. I think you have to go on gluten for the endo though so if you are still eating gluten then hopefully they will see it when doing the endo. I had endo done when this first started years ago and they diagnosed me with IBS and Gerd, I was put on Zelnorm and Nexium and it all felt better for about a year but back then I wasn't losing all the weight. Endo wasn...
  25. In trying to get myself better I am wondering about others in my family. My dad, for years, has had all of the same symptoms I have had: major weight loss, mood swings, fog, runs to the bathroom after eating (I had that and constipation, it varied depending on the day). He goes to the doctor a lot for his heart and for a bunch of blood work and they all...
