  1. My ferratin, B12 and Vit D was low and they wanted me to have shots. This was with my regular GP who never thought of celiac. My gastro told me those are symptoms. I have to have blood drawn again in 2 more months so I'll be looking forward to where I stand when that happens - been taking gluten free multi vitamins and on a gluten free diet now.
  2. I have many of those symptoms too and I also have Hypothyroid. Plus I lost a lot of weight and my periods stopped at age 42 (I am now 48) - I thought it was early meno and now I am wondering if it is from thyroid or celiac. My gyno put me on hormones and the period came back and it was horrible so I stopped the hormones. I was always a petite person...
  3. I have been losing weight for the last 5 years and the last two have been pretty dramatic. I could eat like a pig and would always feel awful - especially after breads, pizza and pasta and I lived on those, along with very strong microbrew beer! I have been gluten free for a little over 3 weeks now and feel 100% better - same symptoms you have - gas, bloating...

    ARCHIVED Benedryl

Before I went gluten free, I couldn't sleep and attributed it to stress. Dr. gave me Valium and that barely worked. Then I tried Ambien but I couldn't wake up for work. Now I just take some calcium and a benadryl the dye free ones and I only wake up once at night. I do sleep a little better going gluten free and not as stressed and depressed.
  5. I was a micro brew drinker until Gluten free a little over 3 weeks ago. Switched to Angry Orchard hard cider which is good but boy I missed my beer! Just tried New Planet beer. Loved the taste and so far no problems.
  6. I actually like living this way better...food-wise. I know I a, eating healthy now...never did that before.
  7. I notice that raw veggies really bother me. I especially can't handle raw carrots.
  8. Me too....major night drenches for the last 5 years and 3.5 weeks going gluten free they are going away. I accidentally got glutened on my mother in law's chicken soup on Sunday and the sweats came back and I was couch bound all day with chills and a backache and a rash Sunday night through Monday.
  9. I have been gluten free for a few weeks and feel 95% better:) I might have a problem with dairy when I eat too much of that (gas) but there was only 1 day I felt sick and I think I accidentally glutened myself but other than that....no gluten = almost back to normal for me.
  10. Was doing some reading on the Pale diet. Problem is, I need to gain weight back....not lose it. But I can see the point of laying off processed foods most of the day and indulging in some gluten free goodies for snacks. Felt good today....had 2 eggs over with gluten free toast, coffee and orange juice. Lunch was a yoplait strawberry/banana yogurt, snack ed...
  11. Unfortunately she said no to the blood work and endo until I gluten up for at least a month. Today has been good.....don't want to go back to pain.
  12. That is another thing....my liver enzymes were up and I couldn't figure out why. Today still feel a bit yucky...stomach rumbling bad, very gassy. I was OK yesterday until last night when I had split pea soup.... Major gas. Woke up better this morning and had a yogurt and orange juice with protein shake mix in it.....no wheat but then the rumblings came back...
  13. Hi, About 2 years ago I was dx'd with Hypothyroid. And after doing some research I am finding that it can be linked with Celiac disease. My symptoms were a low temp, cold extremeties, hair falling out, eyebrows thinning, very tired and sluggish but I didn't gain any weight - been losing it instead. Also I was deficient in Vitamin B12, D & Iron. And...
  14. Hi Everyone, The last couple of weeks have been a huge change for me except for two days where I didn't feel well. The only thing I miss is pizza and I don't like the gluten free pizza that much. Since my last visit to the gastro, I have been eating all gluten free. I eat yogurt and fresh fruit for breakfast, either a salad with balsamic vinegar and...
  15. Hello - this is a great website - I have been reading up a bunch in here. My problems go back 10 years - I was having digestion issues - constipation and indigestion and went to the gastro. I was dx'd with IBS-C and put on Nexium and back then Zelnorm and after 6 months of being treated I felt better. I was not told to stay away from certain foods but...
