ARCHIVED How Can You Tell The Difference?
Mr J replied to MallysMama's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
firstly i'm not celiac, but gluten nerve damaged. Secondly everyone is different. A few months ago i unwittingly started to consume very small quantities of gluten over the period of about a week. No D (actually C used to be more my problem), no bloating, no symptoms at all. then at the end of the week my vagus nerve switched off suddenly. This means paralysed... -
as mentioned in my earlier post I've done the liver flush... apologies, previously replied late last nite and didn't properly test my reply with a link to my post on the yahoo gastroparesis group - doesn't work unless logged in as me so here is the full body of the text some irrelevant content regarding my car engine, but an otherwise detailed account...

ARCHIVED ? For Thise With Soy Intolerance
Mr J replied to ebrbetty's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
i'll have a go at answering this. The soy in those products both come from the same bean part of the plant. The celiac type damage that is done by wheat is from the protein gluten component. Some believe that milk protein and soy protein can do similiar intestinatl damage (general term for intestinal damage is enteropathy). So theoretically soy sauce (gluten... -
hello m, i'm still very underweight after 6 months of gluten-free - stomach still a bit semi-paralysed thru nerve damage, although i don't for the most part have the bloating i used to suffer from. Nor do i get the 2 or more days of nausea and being unable to eat hardly anything either. this is coz i take GC1's approach of modifiying the diet food combining...

a friend sent me these 2 links. a combo of thyroid and adrenal insufficiency is causing her fatigue. The first link contains a page on adrenal insufficiency too. I don't have thyroid probs and if i had to bet i would say i don't have adrenal insufficiency either - its all too easy to look at a list of vague symptoms and convince myself thats the problem...

it can be hard to quantify the benefits of many supplements, but i do believe in being consistent when following through with a plan, so i've been taking it religeously everyday, ever since you posted your mention of it Berneses. Nevertheless i do tend to abandon things when there seems to be no beneficial effect, but my belief in this one partly arises from...

i'm another one who is always tired although the worst of the feeling of chronic fatigue has now been replaced by just feeling really sleepy and lazy. The sequence of events is that before realising the gluten connection to my problems i was always feeling stressed and rushed and in fact tests done when i lived in Australia had shown that i had elevated cortisol...

hello Bernese, just revisiting the yeast/candida link to night sweats, i started with pro-biotics only but really i was just sending my expensive allies down the shute to be slaughtered by the fungus, on their own they weren't strong enough, but with the herb or plant eating enzymes combined they do make a difference. i'm on quite a lot of supplements...

ARCHIVED Yeast Infections And Gluten Intolerence
Mr J replied to danikali's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
well you did say thoughts are appreciated so some of mine are that i got rid of candida (difficult) despite continuing to eat fruit and carbs - posted how on the night sweats/sleep issues thread. i believe the key to eating fruit without feeding the candida is to digest the fruit well before the candida/yeast can get at it. This is part of the food... -
i returned from thailand some weeks ago and did enjoy it thanks. on the subject of supplements: altho carbs are a significant proportion of my intake, i don't wish to give the impression that all is well with me provided i use those 3 simple supplements. i am able to enjoy carbs and thai food too, but have to take in an enormous amount of supplements ...

Hello Berneses, when i first experienced the worst symptoms i was exposed to a hi mould environemnt, background to that at the bottom of this page https://www.celiac.com/index.php?s...opic=9799&st=15 however its not the same mould as candida albicans, what i think happens is that it breaks down the bodies immune system to mould in general thus allowing...

aha, i'm not alone with these symptoms then just about every post since my post indicating it was a candida prob for me have fitted in with the candida connection. Eating carbs feeds the candida. Its possible to cull the candida and then enjoy the carbs again. cheers, Mr J from page 3 of this thread:

1/2 a tube, i'm jealous of your enterocapacity, i'll sometimes put 4 chips in a gluten-free peanut butter and banana sandwich don't mean to deliberately send ppl chasing red herrings, but follow possible leads is all we can do isn't it? hmm lets see where 1/2 a tube fits into the phenol picture. Lets hope that lays staxx are cookie cutted out of real...

yes thats exactly one of the phenol lists I have seen Stephanie. a tip from a friend (mother of ADD children) - phenols are most prominent in the skin/peel of the foods, so maybe try giving those potatoes a good peel? a tip from me - much of my veggies/fruit are sent thru my juice machine for ease of ingestion. I've only got a cheap machine but i can...

i find that if i can digest a decent amount of protein then that keeps me warm better than a pure carb meal. The problem is that my system takes a long time to digest protein. A couple of other symptoms that went away along with the dissappearance of the main candida symptoms were: 1. aversion to perfume and cigarette smoke. I still don't like cigarette...

Hello, i don't have a nightshade intolerance, i tried a food elim test on that - this is fortunate as I only eat Thai food when I am with my wife - the other common food we used to enjoy was italian but thats got thrown out the window now... I tolerate the red hot chillis. However from hanging out on another message board, I have noticed that many of...

I used to get nightsweats. The pattern was require plenty of bedcovers to get warm enough to sleep, then wake up in early hours of the morning extremely hot and sweating profusely. Would need to get out of bed cool down with my shirt off, then go back to bed and get some sleep. The dissappearance of the nightsweats coincided with clearing candida out of...

hello, my posts on the following link on the parents forum gives some background to the state of my health. Open Original Shared Link following on from my post before last where I said i would describe my experience with candida. I assume thats what I had and i'd be interested to see anyone elses experiences and if they think i've made the correct self...

ARCHIVED Enterolab Results
Mr J replied to e&j0304's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
my mistake Shannon, thats good she scored 51, I must have previously misread her enterolab report, or got something confused. Sounds like she is well on the way to recovery now. I am finding that different symptoms are resolving themselves at different rates. yes, enjoying the trip in low gluten Thailand, while its true much of their food is gluten-free... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Results
Mr J replied to e&j0304's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
was going to ask you Shannon about what alerted you to the possibility of Ella reacting to gluten, but i can see that you have answered that on the thyroid thread. Its good to see that she didn't react with the further complication of gp like I did. Comparing symptoms she in fact went the oppposite way to me and has reacted with a voracious appetite. ... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Results
Mr J replied to e&j0304's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
hello Shannon, I'm in Thailand right now and about to post some non-directly relevant content. I realise this is "the parents of" thread so i should own up to not having any children. Regardless of the 3 groups i subsribe too one is EnzymesAndAutism which specialises in enzyme therapy for autistic children and therefore its members are typically parents of... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Results
Mr J replied to e&j0304's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
hello Shannon, to answer your first question, i would say that effects of gluten are severe on me, coz gastroparesis is a severe condition. I have the same genes as Ella, but everyone is individual, so symptoms and severity seem to vary radically from person to person. My primary prob is gp which gradually worsened over a long period, gp causes malnutrition... -
ARCHIVED Enterolab Results
Mr J replied to e&j0304's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
hello Erika, i got tested by enterolab too. Got genes just like Ella's at the top of this thread so it caught my eye. it looks like that altho your daughters genes have different numbers your daughter is in the same boat as me - genes indicate a predisposition to gluten sensetivity - not the "classic celiac" but other intestinal problems possible however...
