It looks like I am in the minority
I like Gluten Free Living. I enjoy the research and articles. However, I agree that the magazine has issues. It does not arrive in a timely fashion

Thank you Richard! I will keep searching for the culprit.

Where have you found the Glutino crisp bread? I saw an ad in a magazine and would love to try.

I thought I remember reading somewhere that Sweet Baby Ray's barbeque sauce is no longer gluten-free? I have done a search several times and cannot find the post. Can someone help me? It is so frustrating when I know the information is floating around out there in cyber space and I can't get it
All I can come up with is old posts saying it is gluten-free. Did they change the formula or is it legal mumbo jumbo.
I have not been feeling great and I am trying to rule out some things.
Thanks for the help.

I keep looking for a box of Trix without the wheat starch and have yet to find any. Has anyone had any luck?

I bought some the other day at my liquor store. Keep in mind I have never been a beer drinker. The non celiacs didn't like it. My dh thought it was to much like water. I kinda liked it though. It is a very light tasting beer. I think it will work great for my beer can chicken and if you are doing brats. Happy drinking
I wonder what will be the next gluten-free product!

When I was first diagnosed I bought this guide (last year). I found it to be expensive and not very helpful. I realized much of what I needed could be found on the internet or by making a phone call. I was not impressed.

Thanks Armetta. I think I will give it a try! It is summer after all

I have eaten there once and picked up there baked goods on several occasions. The cafe is small and lovely. It some ways I felt like I was going to mecca. No questions to ask, no possible cc and I could order anything off the menu! I find their products to be good but dense. I like the english muffins but only eat a half at a time. Have fun!

Everyone is different. I know that does not help
My expreience was 6 months before the D was not an everyday occurance. Then about 9 months the D was gone. I hope you find some relief with the gluten-free diet. This board is a great place to find information and support. Good luck!

I know they exist on the internet. But I have yet to find any in the local stores including health stores. I have been tempted to try them but with shipping it seems steep. Plus I would be afraid they would arrive broken. Anyone order from the internet? Did yours come broken?

I love the flavored spanish style rice. It is great for a quick mexican dinner. However, it is one of the few that seem to be gluten-free.

Cassidy,
I do not know about Stoli. I do know that Bacardi flavored rums ar gluten-free.

I love a gin and tonic with lime in the summer. I use Tanqueray and enjoy it. I have heard that some gins add flavoring after the distillation process. This might be what Bombay is doing.

I have an appt with my gi doc in several weeks. I will let you know how this goes. It will be interesting to see the numbers. I also will enjoy the appt. I know my gi doc would like to do another endo. I think I would just prefer the blood test.

Hi Lister,
I have no idea about your stomach issues, sorry. I will dispense with the be careful, have a designated driver and all that. I am sure you know that already. I have checked on a few alcohols here is what I found out. Bacardi rums safe, Woodchuck hard apple cider, Makers Mark whiskey, and Midori liquer.

I have used Thai Kitchen fish sauce in the past. It says gluten-free right on the label. However, it is an old bottle so I would double check to make sure they have not changed their formula.

Kati,
You are so right! It was one of the many issues that came up when researching whether or not to try oats. Again, I am not advocating that everyone rush out and try oats. There are a ton of issues that you need to research and figure out with your doctor what is best.

From my experience there is no simple answer to your question. However, the new labeling laws will rule out wheat (they have to list this), but not gluten. It also depends on the product. For example, if it is Kraft I would say it is safe. Kraft's policy is not to hide gluten. If it were me I would wait until I could look up the product on the internet or call the company.

True. However, I usually am very sensitive. I will be doing bloodwork in the next month as well. I think my doc would also like to do another endo but we are in discussions about that.

I know when I was new to the diet I would have reactions to food I knew was gluten-free. It took me about six months before I could really tell when I was glutened. Then I really found out the hard way! Depending on how much damage you have in your intestines, you may be getting sick not because of gluten. But because you have not healed. Just a thought! Plus alot of people have reactions to msg.

Well, I thought I would let everyone know how my experiment is working. I ordered gluten-free oats from the company in Wyoming. I have had oatmel for breakfast and oatmeal cookies. I have been eating them for almost a month. No reaction.
I am NOT recommending you eat oats. Eating oats is a personal decision that each of us makes after doing the proper research. I only wanted to share my experience. Please keep in mind that others have tried gluten-free oats (I think they were from Canada) and did NOT have a good experience.

I used to buy the Whole Foods brand (I believe it is 365) of frosted flakes. The other day I went in and read the ingredients (out of habit). I noticed that the label had changed and it now had malt flavor or malt something. I looked on their website and it looks like this cereal is no longer gluten-free
Not happy
Just a warning to check labels if you buy this cereal.
