  1. Man, oh , man...you guys sound eerily similar to me. And believe me, my husband gets sick of hearing me talk so openly about my poo-poos. So, for like 3 or 4 days - nice poos. Easy to flush, formed...then last night I ate 2 bowls of chili and had a cup of coffee. This morning I woke up and had like somewhat formed, yet going toward the diarrhea stage...
  2. I usually get like a good, straightforward red wine...but I remember somebody telling me it may be a while before my tummy handles alcohol really well... Not sure why of course...
  3. Thanks to all of you. I feel much better about my weird Celiac butt, intestines, so on and so forth... Hee, Hee! (You know what really cracks me up: I've seen my husband go to the bathroom sometimes, and I don't want to nag him...but man, that's a Celiac if I ever saw one...stubborn man...)
  4. Bully 4 You - I think you have to be careful with the Rainbow Light Prenatals - they have barley and wheat grass in them - I remember my obgyn warning me about them...
  5. Funny, funny Turtle! All right - somebody else out there just please tell me what comes out of you on what you consider a normal day...I'm so utterly curious right now what other Celiacs experience. I know, I'm being gross...but like I've said before,I've been diagnosed since last September and I feel like this is all such an overwhelming learning process...
  6. You should definitely be on a good gluten free vitamin like Viactiv chewables, Freeda, or Pioneer. My doc also PRESCRIBED Vit D 400 IU 2x daily.
  7. Catherine - I was just thinking that today. At least I'm not pooping out humongous amounts of soft poo that looks like...ew...I don't even want to say!!!!!!!! Sorry for the nasty, nasty graphic. But we all have to agree - we're a heck of a lot better off now, aren't we?
  8. Yes, guys, it comes out really skinny sometimes - and then it totally stumps me and I'm like wait - I just had a big poop and now I'm pooping a worm. I'm thinking sometimes it follows after I've had too much dairy or like too much coffee or tea... I give up with my butt!
  9. only natural goodness swanson chix broth is gluten-free only natural goodness swanson chix broth is gluten-free
  10. I swear the biopsy made me more "believable" with my family doc, etc. While your test means you have sprue for sure. I'd do the biopsy so that you can have that stupid "gold standard" diagnosis that they call it.... I also felt good about having it because then somebody really could took a good look around in there to make sure I didn't have ulcers or...
  11. Quite frankly I don't know either...but I swear I read two different things - everything should be formed but can break apart when flushed and then somewhere else I read "toothpaste" -like. I'm clueless. Can a poop expert help us?
  12. You know - since I was diagnosed last September it's so weird. I have awesome poop days. Then I have days where after every meal I get the sensation to poop and go. Then I have days where I have to wipe my butt three times. Celiac should be called Confusing Poop Syndrome...or something more appropo...
  13. Carla - You're a peach - a hug to a fellow pooper right now...
  14. All right. I have a nasty question, but I've been wondering about this stuff because I'm too embarrassed to ask anyone who doesn't have Celiac, too. Okay, so I'll have normal stools which are fine in diameter, etc., etc...but then occasionally (and I've been biopsied and sigmoidoscopied up the wazoo...so don't tell me I'm dying of something) I'll get...
  15. Montana Julie - I'm not sure if this will help at all but I basically asked my doc the question you asked about 6 months ago...she explained that the stomach sort of has like a little "nervous system" in it that can react to stress, it's even affected by hormones, she said...so I think when you do have stresses it can definitely affect your stomach.... ...
  16. I called the company yesterday just to make sure it was gluten-free and they said yes.... I guess they roast the beans a certain way so that they don't produce that acidic thing they normally do. I tried it last night and was stunned because I didn't get that nasty heartburny feeling i sometimes get...
  17. Anyone else out there tried the new "stomach-friendly" Folgers Simply Smooth coffee...if so, what do you think about it?

Laura - My family doc is actually sending me to an allergist to see what kinds of allergies, food issues I might have (or if there are even any in addition to the Celiac immune issue). How did you figure out you had other intolerance; did you doc test you or was it trial and error?

May I say - you're both brilliant this morning. Thank you for your responses!!!!! I think it was Wendy's too. I never thought about the potato sliced - but yes, it was opened and sliced. I can also be sensitive to dairy in larger amounts. I've noticed that over this last year I've been able to tolerate more and more things like hard cheeses and butter...
  21. Also, is it safe to use a Brita water filter to filter my water...there are no weird "ingredients" in the filter that would cause a Celiac reaction, I assume. Stupid question, I know, but just checking...

    ARCHIVED Grrrr...

All right. I need some advice from a old hat Celiac. So I haven't been sick in like quite some time and this weekend I went out and I had a chili and baked potato from Wendy's and on another day I had a huge strawberry milkshake from McDonald's. Yesterday a little and today, more so, I've been dealing with the celiac D. Has anyone ever been cross-contaminated...
  23. I own Gordon Setters and an old lab/german shepherd mix. I feed my puppies a mix of Canidae dry food with Merrick puppy plate canned food. I use Ennova treats and Salmon "Bear" treats. I got glutened myself (first time in 6 months) from a treat I was using called natural balance - it got all over my hands and I got sick the next day. It was crazy....
  24. Dear Mrs Kramer: Thank you for contacting Neutrogena®. It is always important to hear from our consumers, and we appreciate the time you have taken to contact us. In reference to your inquiry, below is a list, which was updated June 29, 2006, of Neutrogena® products that are gluten free: Active Breathable Sunblock SPF 30 Active B...
  25. They're awful right now. I just called Claritin and they told me ALL of their products are gluten-free. Did the rest of you know those - or do you use their products?
