  1. I did have a fecal fat stool test from enterolab a year ago that showed too much fat but i dunno if that really says anything about this. I think I'd want powdered too considering it takes more work to digest a capsule for sure. I'll have to look into some of this.
  2. Thanks...so nervous..i have no idea how to even know if i have trouble digesting....what are symptoms of that? If I already have too much stomach acid by chance i definitely don't want more lol Honestly...what caused it? I have no idea I had no appetite all week and then friday it was it's worst and I'm surviving on watermelon at the moment. I'm beginning...
  3. Also I don't know why you keep saying intolerance and allergies are not the same as if i don't know this already. I don't know when i've ever given the impression. Since i went gluten free originally and learned about gluten and casein I knew that.
  4. It's not what you say to me it's the tone in your messages. I sent this thread to a friend of mine and asked her what she thought and she didn't think you guys sound very welcoming. And you've been that way with me from the beginning and it puts me on the defensive. The responses you gave since my last response is the only kind of response i was looking for...
  5. Karen- i was just curious if anyone had anything to say. And whether someone knows their practices or not doesn't mean they even know what truly gluten free means. So I guess I should go eat at DOMINOES and have their "gluten free" pizza huh? Because the company knows their practices? They obviously don't know what truly gluten free is in the first place...
  6. *sighs* My concern was about cross contamination. I think we should all know by now that just because a company makes a claim does not always make it so do we not? Anyhow I talked to them after and the man who talked to me said they are very very thorough with their cleaning. When they say dairy and gluten free they mean it. I was more concerned than usual...
  7. I've heard a lot of talk about digestive enzymes...I've been very sick this week and yesterday couldn't keep anything down....there was something in it after getting sick multiple times..curd like...and it got me thinking perhaps it was undigested food from days ago? Anyhow i'm living on just water today but it got me thinking...how do you know when you need...
  8. So we use to get gluten free snacks from nuts.com but turns out i have a milk ALLERGY (not intolerance) and it says packaged in the same facility as milk product for almost everythng. I am going to call them to be sure about shared lines..i'm hoping that same facility doesn't necessarily mean i have to worry about milk allergen getting on anything. But i...
  9. Note: geneticgenie.org not .com...com takes you to a non existant website.
  10. Exactly...right now it looks like i can't detox high salicylates. I seem to be ok with moderate and a couple high foods. Apparently this can be a detox issue typically. I am generally always tired and have had depression issues and weakness over the years and i know that can be tied into b12 problems so we shall see!
  11. Thanks so much! I'm in a rather rotten spot since christmas and trying to map out my health issues to try and heal as best I can. It's not all gluten....I'm to the point of actually HOPING i have the MTHFR gene defect as it will give me some hope that I just have some detox issues that can be at least SOMEWHAT helped through proper care. Who wishes for that...
  12. Yeah I know I just thought if I had a gene for it it might seem like it more so. I don't really want celiac...i know i have gluten sensitivity but...i guess i'm trying to figure out the underlying cause of the other issues which many say is caused by leaky gut....so I'm on the prowl for causes.
  13. My doctor for one reason or another considers it to be celiac disease. I only had enterolab done before and had elevated results. I was having a lot of refluxy problems around that time and i've developed other problems that started within a couple months of going gluten free. On top of this it seems gluten affects my thyroid. I honestly dunno what it is...
  14. Oh my.....so much to be learned right? Do you know anything about what these genes in particular would mean? I'm just wondering if leaky gut was actually an issue with me or not.
  15. I did the enterolab cheek swab and this is what came up: Gluten Sensitivity Gene Test HLA-DQB1 Molecular analysis, Allele 1 0604 HLA-DQB1 Molecular analysis, Allele 2 0402 Serologic equivalent: HLA-DQ 1,4 (Subtype 6,4) TEST INTERPRETATION(S): Interpretation of HLA-DQ Testing: Although you do not possess one of the HLA-DQB...
  16. Aside from celiac I have a dairy allergy that's considered to be moderate on my blood test. I don't know about intolerance i just know i'm allergic. I was wondering if anyone else here has an ALLERGY to dairy and takes NOW food supplements? They said it's gluten and dairy free on the calcium carbonate powder i'm taking...i'm unsure at the moment but i wound...
  17. So I have this magnesium oil i've been using and I'm wanting to add a little calcium supplement because I don't get enough calcium in my diet....i know that tthese two can compete with each other so I was wondering if anyone knows how long before or after magnesium I should be using the calcium?
  18. Gluten and dairy can both affect the thyroid. Hypothyroidism is VERY common for celiacs and the gluten intolerant. I'm under screening to see if i'm still hypo or not. I've only been medicated for 4 days in the past on a t4 only med but i have to look into nutritional deficiencies and adrenals before going gung ho on this. I'm very sick with other things...
  19. Truth. I've heard some people with food sensitivities to sals say their symptoms were better on hydrocortisone and worse when they got off so maybe it does go back to adrenals...
  20. This is what i'm thinking. Can adrenal issues cause hives? I was going to do my saliva test tomorrow and send it off friday. I'm getting thyroid tested soon and i'm just a little worried....I hope it's not salicylates because honestly....i can't deal with the low salicylate diet..i tried it..it doesn't make me feel good body wise. I'm also getting checked...
  21. So I've had a theory i might be salicylate sensitive for a while...I had a hives reaction one time that lasted 3-4 weeks from something. I had my last period....and the hives stopped just before that started...then i had some swelling in one of my toes and a couple hives right when my period ended. I had also started eating fish and sweet potato etc. Fish...
  22. Wouldn't shock me. The defect can lead to any number of issues. A friend of mine has it and has blood clotting issues. It tends to affect everyone differently.
  23. Right. From what I understand the defective gene is actually very common...about 40% of the population is suppose to have it.
  24. Yes it's really almost a crime how little b12 levels are tested an yet they are SO important for everyone's well being. Many doctors won't even test vitamin D either. B12 you're looking at all kinds of issues if you don't have enough.
  25. Yes a specific kind of b12 because it bypasses a certain stage of conversion that people with this mutation can't do.
