  1. mamaw - where do you get F by G pizza. My local store has the cheese pizza with the sauce but I'd like to make my own so I can have varied types. Do you order the cases of frozen crusts and if so from where? Now, about the cookies from this line. Even though I did not mix to specifications (still learning to bake) these cookies came out wonderful. 'Normal...
  2. Nantzie - thanks for sharing your feelings.....I understand and think maybe my sister wants to think this can't happen to her kid. queenofhears - that is so wonderful about your sister! Even though mine did get the blood test and they were negative, I highly suspect one day she'll test positive and if that happens, I think she'd demand her kids be tested...
  3. *Fettucinni Alfredo - only every other weeks as it's laden with fat/calories. *Pizza with Chebe crust *Grilled pork chops *Turkey burgers w/cheddar garlic bun from Silly-Yak bakery *Spaghetti *Turkey tacos *Chicken enchiladas or enchilade casserole *Pasta/pancetta casserole *Quiche with Gillians gluten-free crusts (not great but edible) all I...
  4. Not me but my Mother except she had symptoms on and off for many, many years. She of course, was always told it's IBS. Well once she was told she had Lupus when if fact, she didn't. Though now I know it is not that uncommon to mix up Lupus with Celiac, since docs don't know about Celiac, generally speaking. Good luck getting better soon. This board will give...
  5. [ It's a simple blood test! It must be so frustrating and heartbreaking for you. - Lauren
  6. I would not try cooking two meals of you'll drive yourself crazy. Many, many great meals are naturally gluten free. For pasta dishes you'll need gluten-free pasta which hopefully you have by now. I went out the first week and got every type of Tinky. gluten-free pasta they carry at Whole Foods. Now I find I prefer another brand and thus, my Tinky. sits alone...
  7. Are all their bars gluten-free or just some? I think I got a free sample at a meeting and now I haven't looked for them but they are very good. I had no idea they had that much calcium and iron which I need. I need to get a stock of them when I find them.
  8. This is a pretty good article. I know people who don't believe in intolerances. They do believe in allergies and they think if someone used to eat gluten and didn't die, they can just keep consuming it. Thanks for posting.
  9. I've got family and friends who have symptoms too. Nobody has gotten tested though. And most of them saw how sick I was and how quickly I got better. And they're still not getting tested. They won't even try just not eating gluten for a few days. I don't get it. I really subscribe to the theory that gluten is like a drug. People don't like it when...
  10. Yes - going through Mother is the only way I think the kid may get tested. It's like talking to a brick wall with my sister. It's already hurt our relationship someone and I've only mentioned it a few times over 7 months but of course, that's a few times more than she cares to hear it. It will be interesting to see how my niece fares this year at school...
  11. Those of you who know me know I finally gave up in trying to convince my sister to test her son for Celiac as she has an idiot GI that thinks if she doesn't have it, her son can't either. While WE all know that is ridculously untrue, it's hard to convince people not to trust doctors. So the possible symptoms (that I knew about before) are he has lactose intolerance...
  12. Okay - made the pizza to directions. It smelled funny after the milk, egg and olive oil were added. As it had rice flour which can spoil, I always smell the mix before using. I have a very keen sense of smell (the kind that forcee me to move in the movie theatre when someone bathed in perfume sits near me) and I still don't know what the smell well smelled...
  13. From the woman's e-mail about what I could have, I assumed their dressings are not safe. She mentioned specifically that with breadcrumbs in so many things there, that cc would be an issue. I appreaciated her researching about Celiac and she just e-mailed me an apology (since I dismissed her earlier). She seemed to want to feed me safely, it's just that with...
  14. Okay - as I'm trying to broaden my dining out options I thought to contact CA Dreaming a while back, to see if they could feed me safely. The lady I was dealing with there left the company before getting me an answer so I was left hanging. So I contact them again this week and deal with another lady. From her reply to me, I knew they did not know the first...
  15. 2wheels4eyes - well I've been right where you are and I know how much it sucked at the time. Two weeks into my new "lifestyle" I broke down and cried and told my DH I could not possibly read another freakin' label. When I first shopped for gluten-free foods, I was super proud that I did not cry since everyone (with Celiac) I'd met told me they had cried....
  16. I'd only be interested in trying their pizza and bagels. The pizza crust ingredients look very close to what's in the Foods by George pizza which is out of this world delish but frightfully expensive. I'll see how I like my new FG Naturals pizza crust tonight and then I'll order the bagels or bagels and pizza. Those graham crackers looked yucky in the photo...
  17. I posed the same question quite a while back and got no replies. I just found a new pizza mix that I'll know if I like tonight. If not, I'm going to order the pizza from Joseh's.
  18. I know....I figured it was available in your area but I knew you couldn't have it. Well you never know if you can add some things in later and if not, well none of us really ever needs a pizza or pancakes now do we? I find that now that I'm off gluten I don't crave the carbs like before. It's truly amzing to me.
  19. I posted a while ago regarding this company, based in NJ and no one replied they they'd tried the products. This company is small and has four (I think) mixes. I had their brownies and they are wonderful, just like regular brownies. But what I really wanted to try was the pizza crust because the lady that brought the brownies to our meeting sort of giggled...
  20. Oh happy day! I'm sure my new WF store opening in late Sept. will carry them then. When I asked when the gluten-free beer was coming, they said not until the new location opens. Then the guy went on to explain they are going to have a larger gluten free selection that they do now!
  21. Unless Smuckers just changed their tune, they do not know if any of their products are gluten free. They told me so 5 months ago and again last week. I depise them for their disinterest in knowing what's in their products. They say they are working on it but why buy something from a company that can't tell you 5 months if their stuff is gluten free. Down...
  22. Mmmm - thanks jennyj. That looks great and easy to make as well!
  23. I had my first root canal last spring and my second one a couple of weeks ago. I had two fillings in the last year and I have another one I'm taking care of next week, before I even get my mold for new crown. I have Osteopenia due to undx'd Celiac so that's where my issues lie. It's related to Celiac and I just hope now that I'm absorbing nutrients again...
  24. I rarely ate Cheetos before but after my dx I had them once in a while. As I grew more sensitive to gluten, I noticed I had issues with them. Knowing they are gluten free I figured I had problems with corn. That turned out not to be the case but in fact, I can not eat Cheetos without getting a b'ball belly. But I've know others not to react to Quaker grits...
  25. seattlecdfriend - I just wanted to say thanks for being such an awesome friend. Most of my friends have been wonderful but I don't really think they went and did research like you have. Your friend is surely lucky to have someone as supportive as you are. We should all be so lucky!
