  1. I like Hormel's "Thick Cut" Bacon -- it costs more, but it is very good bacon.

  3. Mango, Beau Jo's gets their crust from Debys Bakery..
  4. Lima, Americans have about 5000 versions of cooked/fried potatoes -- its no wonder people get them confused -- even Americans have differing opinions betweem hash browns, home fries, potatoes o brien, etc. When you grate a potato on a cheese grater, the "pieces" are hash browns (well, they become hash browns with some oil, salt and pepper...) Hope...
  5. Ok, So here's the Story from my trip to Denver... I arrived in Denver around 8:00 p.m. My friends picked me up at the airport and brought me a gluten free sausage/pepperoni/green pepper pizza from Beau Jo's. It was great! 6. Gabrielle, The ironic thing is that I used to work with the saxophone player in O.A.R. hisn name is Jerry and he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet (very down to earth). Recently, I found out that the Violent Femmes asked him to play with them on stage -- how cool! Chelsea, its the same guy, I was just debating the spelling of his name...

  8. Also, For Breakfast, have a turkey sausage and egg white sandwich and a side of banana. Then, take an "Ensure" drink with you to class. Drink it around 10:00...They work as snacks and/or meal replacers and are pretty filling for being so small. That is what I would do, Bronco
  9. I grew up in Dayton...specifically Beavercreek...3 cheers for Ohio! My mom recently told me that she contacted Montgomery Inn and they told her the BBQ sauce was gluten-free... If this pans out, I will make her take me to Montgomery Inn 5 times when I am back They have the best ribs on the planet (at least that I have tried)... I also had...
  10. E, Sorry about that -- I don't have a clue... I tried the noodles once, but I did not care for the taste. Now I just use them whenever I make stir fry (not using their sauce/seasonings -- Blech!) Hope you feel better! Bronco
  11. Here is the message from Taco Bell's website... "Because wheat is a part of so many of our recipes, many items served in Taco Bell® restaurants are not suitable for gluten-restricted diets. For product-specific information about gluten and other potential allergens, please visit our Allergen Chart. Or, refer to our detailed Ingredient Statements." Here ...
  12. If it helps, I do know that the Hot and Sour Thai Kitchen is not gluten free. Did you eat that one? It looks exactly like the other soup bowls, but that flavor is hazardous to a Celiac's health!
  13. I second Tarnalberry's advocacy of the "Bone Suckin Sauce" -- I like the hot and spicy...
  14. Have you thought of having the wedding reception at Maggiano's in Edina?? Open Original Shared Link My buddy had his wedding reception there (around 80 people) -- It is alsao family style (5 courses) and the chef has gluten free options for each course (even gluten free pasta). 16. Julie, What are your food intolerances?? If you have food cooked in a clean pan, it should be fine (assuming the food isn't complex with crazy sauces, seasonngs and such..) I will say this -- you really have to grab a hold of those restaurants -- you need to email them or call them before, always talk to a manager and a chef, get a clean pan...

  23. Julie, I am actually a Cincinnati Bengals fan, but my "hero" growing up was John Elway. I always held the Bengals as my #1 team, but I had posters of John up in my room and I always had his jersey. I did not realize my "lack of love" for the Broncos until he retired -- it wasn't the same feeling after that. So yes and no...
  24. I am fairly certain that the distillation process does remove all of the gluten. The gluten molecule is too dense/large too survive the process. People may be reacting to wheat fibers/strands/etc left in the alcohol, but the gluten is removed during that process. In my experience, most people that I have met that have a problem with grain-based alcohols...
