  1. Thanks for the replies everyone! I guess Zicam is fine to take. Phew! Wintersong - (I like your name) Zicam is a big burst of zinc, yes - but I never found zinc supplements to be as effective. I too was taking one every day to try to help my skin/ward off colds...but I would still need Zicam at the beginning of a cold. As for it being a placebo effect...
  2. I guess what I meant to ask was if anyone knew a really effective cold medicine that was certified as gluten free. I know some of Advil's products are, for example. The fact that Zicam wasn't on those gluten free drug lists made me wary, especially since I'm still not feeling 100%. I'm still new to the gluten free diet (three months in) so at times I might...
  3. Whenever I feel a cold coming on I would take Zicam, it works super fast and it's the most effective cold medicine I've ever taken. Unfortunately, it is not listed on any of the gluten free drug sites/lists I've found and the company itself states that it cannot guarantee that the product is gluten free. Does anyone know of a really effective gluten free...
  4. I think it depends on what location you go to. I recently went on vacation with a few friends, and we were trying to find a gluten friendly restaurant. We happened to be stopped near a Chipotles, and Chipotles was listed on the gluten free app. We went inside, and there was a sign on the counter that said to notify the server if you have any 'food allergies...
  5. Aw! How fun! Everyone's pets are so cute. This is my dog.
  6. Thank you for your reply. I actually read from another member that her son was diagnosed with lactose intolerance and he was told that's what caused his bad breath. I am lactose intolerant as well! I guess I'll be cutting back on dairy and using my lactaid pills more often - I only use them for high lactose dairy products, I don't bother when eating cheese...
  7. SkyBlue, you have no idea how thankful I am for you right now! I hope the OP finds his/her answer as well. I am also lactose intolerant! I only take my lactaid pills when eating icecream - everything else I don't bother with taking it, since the lactose levels aren't high enough to make me sick.
  8. I just posted a similar thread myself. I'm not sure what is going on with me, but my 'bad breath' didn't start until AFTER I was on the gluten free diet. Not sure if it has something to do with my gut trying to heal itself or what. Even with rigorous oral hygiene, my boyfriend has informed me that there is something 'off' with my breath. I don't understand...
  9. I am new to this site, so please forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong forum thread - but I was not sure where else to post this. I was diagnosed with celiac disease just over three months ago (early July) and I have been avoiding gluten since then. My boyfriend has recently told me that since the diagnosis, my breath has been - bad, for lack of a...
