ARCHIVED Drug Capsules?
Nashville posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I was just prescribed Nortryptiline for headaches. I was able to confirm that the actual contents in the capsule are all gluten free, but not the actual capsule. I am sure it has to be okay, but has anyone heard of simple capsules (just the exterior) that are NOT gluten free? Thanks -
ARCHIVED Gluten Free In Nashville
Nashville replied to LyndaM's topic in Traveling with Celiac Disease
It isn't downtown, but it's not far: There is a place called PM near Belmont University, about 1.5 miles from downtown. It is on Belmont Blvd. It is a Thai place, but it has burgers, sushi and other stuff. They have several gluten-free options, and it is very, very good. There is an Outback Steakhouse and PF Changs near Vanderbilt (the Changs is basically... -
A while back I saw a post on Calabria's Pizza in Livingston, N.J. I will be up in Jersey later this month and would like to try it out. Has anybody had it?

ARCHIVED Chili Sauce
Nashville posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I'm looking for a gluten-free chili sauce. On the Heinz web site, they say their Ketchup is gluten-free but can't verify other products. Anybody know of a gluten-free sauce? Thanks. -
ARCHIVED Dale And Thomas Popcorn
Nashville posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I picked up a bag of Dale and Thomas Movie Style popcorn at Whole Foods (the bag says Popcorn Indiana). All of the ingredients looked fine, but I emailed the company just to be sure. Here is what I got: "Thank you for contacting Popcorn Indiana. In response to your question about gluten... -

ARCHIVED Whole Foods Buffet
Nashville posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I noticed today at the new whole foods in Nashville that all of the buffet foods are very clearly labeled. They list ingredients and which allergens are in each item. Should I feel comfortable eating from the buffet, or are the cross contamination issues too risky? Thoughts? -
ARCHIVED Menu Recommendations For Pf Chang's?
Nashville replied to Molecular Dude's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
Question on the Singapore Noodles: The chicken and/or shrimp in it appears to be breaded a bit; is this just cornstarch? -

ARCHIVED Warning For Blue Bell Ice Cream Lovers!
Nashville replied to ptkds's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Is this only the ice cream cups? What about the regular-sized containers? I guess I will just read the label before I buy again. -
ARCHIVED Cereal
Nashville replied to Mal's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I eat Rice Twice (by Erewhon) every day. It is very good with bananas on it or plain. Sometimes I add Dora the Explorer on top to make it sweet. I get it at Wild Oats. -
ARCHIVED Pei Wei (owned By Pf Changs)
Nashville replied to olalisa's topic in Gluten-Free Restaurants
They don't have as many items on their gluten-free menu, but they have enough. Good stuff. The Spring Chicken rolls are very good. -
ARCHIVED Glutino Bagels - Great!
Nashville replied to cycler's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Where do you buy Glutino Bagels? -
ARCHIVED Butterscotch Morsels
Nashville replied to floridanative's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
This is strange that you posted this today. Last night, I ate half of a chocolate covered peanut thingy that my wife made. I said, 'Are you sure these are okay?' She then remembered that she used butterscotch morsels, as well as chocolate. I couldn't find the package so I called NESTLE. Well, I was on hold forever and my wife finally found the package. I... -
Woodpecker Cider and Strongbow (it's from England) are gluten free.
-
Thanks Tom. I have the cards; I will bring them by tomorrow afternoon. My problem (and I'm not complaining) is that I don't have a reaction if I have gluten. So I could be eating something that has gluten and not know it.

I contacted a local BBQ place about the ingredients in some of their dishes and asked them how they prepare their bbq. I was glad to hear that the pulled turkey, which I used to get pre-diagnosis, is fine — they just throw it on the pit and let it go. Most of the side dishes appear to be okay, as well. He said the green beans and bbq beans have nothing m...

ARCHIVED What Am I Reacting To?!
Nashville replied to laurelfla's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
My guess would be that your stomach is just reacting to the fried food. Since I no longer eat much fried food, I know it kind of messes with my system when I eat fried stuff or real heavy food. Hopefully that is all it is. -
I have been eating at PF Chang's and Pei Wei on occassion and have positive experiences at both places. I do have a question that someone might know the answer to. The Chang's Spicy Chicken sure looks like it is fried with flour. They say it is lightly dusted. What is it dusted in? My wife told me that it's probably corn starch. Any cooks out there, or anyone...

I'm 99% sure it was mono. I got it about five years ago and never really felt right after that. Was diagnosed about a year ago. Still not all the way back, but getting there.

ARCHIVED Cereal?
Nashville replied to justme's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I recently started eating the Dora cereal, but for the past 8 months (since diagnosed) I have Rice Twice cereal by Erewhon. It is pretty good. I get mine at Wild Oats, but it is available on amazon .com, as well. -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone On Here Forget That They Have celiac disease Most Of The Time?
Nashville replied to em2005's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I rarely forget that I have it — just because I am always around food. Whether it's walking by a vending machine at work or driving past a restaurant, I'm always reminded of stuff I can't have. I'm not complaining — it's a fact that we have to deal with! -
ARCHIVED Gin Is Okay, Correct?
