  1. Help! I had a wonderful gluten free dinner tonight but I need to know if anyone has had any reactions to what I ate. I made DeBoles wheat-free, gluten-free corn spaghetti style pasta with a homemade, very plain, tomato sauce. The only ingredients on the tomato sauce was tomatoes. I have been itching so bad for the last hour or so! I feel bloated too. I have...
  2. I can relate! I do not have any answers as I am newly diagnosed too but I wanted to let you know that I'll be your friend. I feel like a 12 year old too! I am 46 and I have been losing my hair too. Mine is probably due to the very low iron. Wish a few pounds would drop off but ... Yes, we are blessed that we do not have anything worse but what we...
  3. Sorry. You must be clutching at straws. I drive a Ford Escape.
  4. I just copied this from Tootsie Roll's website. Hope it adds a bit of reassurance. "We are pleased to be able to inform you that, at this time, all of our confections are gluten, peanut and nut product free. We do not use wheat, barley, rye, oats, triticale, spelt or any of their components and that includes our manufacturing process. We do use corn and...
  5. I am 46 and have had symptoms for years and years. I am sure that everyone thought I was a hypochondriac, even my family and doctors! In a weird way, I am glad they found something and now I can "cure" myself. I have so much to learn about being gluten-free but I am off to a good start and this place is such a God send! Thank you!
  6. Yes many do! Of course, two of the products I am using now contain gluten! I will add the reply that I got from the rep. Here it is: Dear Joann, Please find attached the list of our Paul Mitchell Professional Salon Products that DO NOT contain wheat or gluten. Best regards, Jackie Timberlake Director of Consumer Relations John Paul...
  7. WHAT??? Oh Dear! This is the first time I have heard anyone complain of right shoulder pain! I was just diagnosed with celiac disease and started gluten-free two weeks ago. I am wondering if those THREE shoulder surgeries were for nothing? My shoulder is still so painful but I will not let them do another surgery, especially now! I also had several possible...
  8. Hello! As a new Celiac, I made my first phone call to Paul Mitchell concerning their hair products. I had such a good experience with the representative who spoke to me and I will feel comfortable making more calls! I did check the forum for information and did not find anything. If anyone would like this info, let me know. I am new here so I am not sure...
  9. Wow! I am glad that I read this post! I just checked the Yoplait website and this is what they have on it: Do Yoplait products contain gluten? We carefully analyze all of our ingredients (presence of wheat, rye, barley, triticale, spelt, oats and malt) to ensure they do not contain gluten. Our products can therefore be safely consumed by people...
  10. Just wanted to add that I have most of the same symptoms! Have your blood tested and go to a different gastroenterologist, if necessary. I saw a hematologist who diagnosed me and sent me to the gastro doc. My biopsy confirmed the rest.
  11. Hi! I am also a newly diagnosed Celiac. I had positive blood tests and my biopsy showed severe damage to the villi. I have been gluten-free for two weeks now and I can't say that I feel great but I have not had any stomach pains since I started. I am still very tired and have lots of aches and pains. From everything I have read about celiac disease and...
  12. I just had to respond to this topic! I have to mention my favorite doctor for many years. No, he didn't find my celiac disease even with my long list of ailments. What I want to say about him is that he listened to me. When my right foot swelled terribly, and all the specialists, tests, treatment plans failed, I searched the internet. I would bring all these...
  13. I can really sympathize with you! My husband is already tired of hearing me talk about gluten and I have only been eating this way for 2 weeks! He even asked me to go with him to find a donut shop last week! Needless to say, I will deal with this myself, with or without support from my family. I, too, have suffered for years and was extremely happy to know...
  14. I too have had rapid heartbeats! I am really surprised to hear that they are related to celiac disease! I also had heart monitors and the echocardiograms. I am now wondering if anyone has had lower blood oxygen levels? Mine are dropping into the low 80's, especially when I am sleeping. I have done two sleep studies and they want me to wear the C-Pap. Not...
  15. I have been gluten-free for two weeks now. I have the tummy bloating too but I am not skinny. Are most Celiacs thin? It seems that way from what I have read. My biopsy was bad and my blood work too. I am very short and I have the traditional "Italian mamma" body. I can relate to the pants problems and I am very thankful for elastic waists! My waist is several...
