  1. How do you post a picture in a response if the picture is saved on your computer, not a URL?
  2. Yes its the sugar that is falling out. I will try the pinching to see if that helps. Thanks! Oh, the recipe is below (or above, don't really know when this post is going to go ) for those that want it.
  3. Roll Ingredients 2 tablespoons butter 1/4 cup sugar 2/3 cup milk, room temperature (I use 2% lactaid- a lower fat count doesn't hold together as well and this mimics real milk a lot better than soy or other subsitutes) 1 tablespoon yeast 1 egg 1/4 cup canola oil 1 1/2 cup gluten free flour blend (I use Bette Hagman's) 1/4 teaspoon xanthan gum 2 teaspoons...
  4. Tis the holiday season and so it is time for me to start making cinnamon rolls as gifts for friends and neighbors. Last year I made them gluten free for the first time and they tasted amazing. My only problem was that the filling fell out the bottom as they cooked. Anybody have a good idea to keep the filling in while they bake so you don't have to scoop...
  5. Pad Thai is one the the easiest, a naturally gluten free. It uses rice noodles and the sauce is made with fish sauce, no soy sauce in the authentic recipes. You can find recipes for it all over the place, from google to food network. It is really easy to make, just be sure to soak the rice noodles in warm water for at least 30 mins before using them otherwise...
  6. I have invisalign and a normal retainer and I clean them in denture cleaner. One tab a day and some hot water and you are set to go. I have had no problems with my retainers having gunk left on them after and have never had a CC problem after cleaning them this way.
  7. Not a cooking question per say, more a vent about cooking! One of the associations I am in at school is having a Thanksgiving/Christmas potluck in two weeks. Different grades will be responsible for different types of items with a general turkey being cooked by one person. When I found out about the potluck I went to speak with a member of the executive...
  8. It depends on the shape of the machine. Round pan models- dry ingredients first. Square upright or rectangular- wet ingredients first.
  9. I have had hyperhidrosis ever since I hit puberty and wasn't diagnosed with Celiac until 3 or 4 years later. Hated it for years and thought nothing would work until the dr prescribed Drysol. Makes a world of difference. Hurts like hell to put on but not sweating through my clothes at any time in the year is a wonderful thing. Give it a try if you haven...

    ARCHIVED Whoopie Pies

I kinda wish I was from Maine now. I love whoopie pies, we make them evey year for the holidays. It's almost whoopie pie season!! Any way you can order them offline?
  11. I have had Celiac my entire college career and have always found a way to make it work. I have a team of personal chefs on campus that deal only with kids with food allergies and I eat better at school than I do at home. I lived in a dorm both my freshman and sophomore years without a personal kitchen and made it work. We had a dorm kitchen that was disgusting...
  12. I do not have fibromyalgia but I do have Reflex Sympathetic/Neurovascular Dystrophy. I have taken a lot of fibromyalgia medicine over the past two years to try and deal with the RSD pain. What exactly is Savella and what is it supposed to do? I am always interested in these medications. I tried the Lyrica/Cymbalta/Methadone treatment with no success....
  13. I eat Hard Times chili all the time! I love the Cincinnati chili the best, but all of them are good. And the last time I went in, I was told the corn bread was gluten free, ate it and had no problem (I am incredibly sensitive, I would have known quickly if there was wheat in it). Maybe at different locations they have different corn bread recipes. But...
  14. That sounds absolutely delicious. I hadn
  15. I have a few things that I do with rice that I use to change things up a bit. I use a rice cooker to make my rice, so I just throw everything in there and let the machine cook it. For a more tropical rice I use coconut milk instead of water and cut up some mango and toss it is A pretty much goes with everything rice Put the usual amount of rice and...

    ARCHIVED Wendy's?

Wendys is my fast food place of choice. I have never had a problem there. I usually eat the chili and baked potato (french fries if they have a dedicated fryer- which some do) or a salad. Here's the gluten free menu from the website as well Open Original Shared Link
  17. Happy birthday and may God bless you today!

  18. Sadly no, these ones stayed pretty white, crisp at the edges, but white. I added some coarse sugar and put them under the broiler to get the crunch!
  19. Once again I saw this on food network and loved it and decided to make it gluten free. It
  20. Does anyone else have a Freshens smoothie near them? I went in the other day and had one of the no-calorie mango ones, and needless to say, it did not go well. I don't know if they use something different in the low calorie one because I feel like I have had them before reaction free. We have smoothie king at my school and I drink those all the time without...
  21. I am a 20 year with Celiac, diagnosed 4 years ago. I go to James Madison University and am almost glad to be gluten free there. I have a
  22. Get there early if you want one, they go fast! I have been to three different starbucks recently and was only able to buy one at one of the locations. The other day, the barista said that the company only gives them so many (it
  23. Your story sounds a lot like mine. My Celiac didn
  24. Hi everyone! I had great success the other day in turning a recipe I saw on food network into a gluten free variety. Ina Garten did a lemon yogurt cake and it just looked so good I had to try and revamp it. I made my with dairy but it could easily be made dairy free as well if you use soy yogurt. It came out so light and moist, and has stayed moist...

    ARCHIVED Uno's Pizza

I had the Uno's pizza the other day, and to me, it tasted like a cracker. I agree with most people, nice try! I also went to Zpizza just a few days before and had a gluten free hawaiian pizza that was actually really good. I was just super pissed because they don't list the price and my pizza for one was $17!!! That is a rip off, I almost had to say forget...
