  1. How does it go bartfull? Tell me more.
  2. I've always been spoiled. teriyaki is really is easy to make so I just mix up some when I need it. I always like extra ginger too so that allows me to cater to my tastes also. Just find a gluten free soy sauce that you like and build up your sauce repertoire from there. It might not be traditional but I usually use a combo of Soy sauce ginger garlic honey
  3. I only have a couple problem foods, but I am just looking forward to the day that I can drink coffee again! I'd like to know of any problem foods that you had to discontinue and how long it took you to get them back, if at all. Also, when is a good time to try?
  4. I have been really wanting to try california pizza kitchen! Its on my list with PF Changs. I actually downloaded this app called "find me gluten-free" and it does a gps location of where you are and finds gluten free stuff nearby. It specifies if it just has a gluten free menu, caters to food allergies, celiac friendly or if it is a dedicated gluten free...
  5. It can take several months after starting a gluten free diet to start seeing improvement in pain. You make also have other issues going on. I personally have found that my pain has improved over the past few months. I was actually able to help my arthritis pain by drinking a ginger tea I made from about a 1 inch piece of fresh ginger pureed in the blender...
  6. SCORE! its gluten free! Cant wait
  7. Trying a cauliflower pizza for the first time tonight. I have a few recipes I've been looking at, but a friend has a recipe she claims is 'foldable'. Waiting on that recipe and it's supposed to be a super low carb one, so im hoping it is gluten free too. Now I just need to decide on toppings.
  8. The arthritis I have?! I'd only clean if you made the plan and COOKED too! LOL
  9. That sounds like one of my favorite places here in NJ! Exactly!
  10. Now that I have been contaminated by people cooking for me, the one time this happened I was there watching them cook and I STILL got contaminated. It's so very real! I have just started saying, just buy me some nice certified gluten free bread or cookies! There are brands that I love and they are kind of pricey for me, so I would SOOO appreciate that.
  11. Its so terrible because a couple weeks ago for my birthday, I had friends over my one friend insisted on making some awesome dip. So without being pushy, I gave her info on how to make sure the food isn't contaminated. Before she arrived, I was so worried because I didn't want to eat it and get sick, but I didn't want to rude. Well it turns out it was a chilli...
  12. I think this is why so many people with celiac get upset with the gluten free diet trend! Because 'a little when its inconvenient' will make us very sick, whereas a little honey or egg for someone who is voluntarily vegan will be just fine. All these diet trends has just made people lose respect for the fact that some people get truly sick from certain foods...
  13. I saw that but I was confused because so many things said dont eat eggs, dont eat beans, dont eat cheese! Now that i know I can eat whatever doesnt bother me, this is actually a really good meal plan.
  14. YES! I know this! I would never dive into eating like a dozen eggs a week unless I knew she was wrong. LOL I told her, if you don't have high cholesterol, then it's ok to eat eggs. My cholesterol is always fine. Hers is also, without medication.
  15. I think staying active is really important too, I think alot of people get stuck in the rut of going to work, coming home for dinner, then sitting in front of the tv till they go to bed. Ive been trying to swim as much as possible because its a really good workout (450 calories for 40 mins freestyle/leisure swimming) and my joints dont feel like I did a thing...
  16. I lived with my grandmother for 3 years and I preferred to eat eggs, but she said -that her mother said- no more than 3 eggs per week! something to do with cholesterol, but her mom was born in the 1800's and died of cancer... sooooo im pretty sure her 3 egg a week rule didn't help her. Also totally caught my grandma breaking this rule.
  17. I've read that lettuce can be kinda harsh LMAO
  18. I totally understand not wanting to do a gluten challenge before starting the school semester. If you do decide to cut gluten, I would start ASAP before the school year is in full force.
  19. My bf was talking about this for next week. Do you do biscuits on top?
  20. Well here in the US there is a brand called enzymedica "digest gold" is the type i use. There is several different kinds in there. You could look them up and see whats in there or if you can purchase in your area.
  21. I mentioned it to my doctor 3 times and he brushed it off. He said 'it might be a little IBS' riight. Since I have been gluten free, i just have this pain, no C or D associated with it. it could be a world of things! I really recommend the enzymes, try it and see if it helps, if not press the doctor to investigate more.
  22. Omlettes tonight! With veggies, but we are fresh out of meat. Hes eating now and I will eat after our swim. I found a way to step up my curry fried rice, because im obsessed. I cook my rice with coconut milk and it gives it that extra layer of flavor. Extra points, save some for later, cook it even more with more coconut milk and add sugar and add an...
  23. I made little mini meatloaves a couple months ago with that yogurt based cucumber gyro sauce on top (homemade but i cant spell the name!) We just used an egg and some herbs in there and it worked out ok. I think the mini loaves stay together better with just the egg and herbs. It was amazing! We did lemon roasted potatoes and a cucumber salad with that.
  24. Someone else could probably be more helpful. From what I have read, it is some thing where the pancreas gets messages from the villi to release enzymes and when the villi are damaged it gets all messed up and creates pain., when the villi heal, the problem should resolve (villi will should heal on a gluten free diet). The enzymes seem to help me A LOT, I...
  25. I used to feel like that everyday after my whole wheat toast. So yeah I guess it might be normal if you have problem with gluten but are eating gluten. I wish you luck with eating gluten, please stop if you feel like you are getting too ill
