  1. I tried to buy ibuprofen today and realized none of them were labeled gluten free! Not the generic or the name brands. I thought that was strange because up till today, I have seen that label on medicines and vitamins pretty frequently. I did buy my tums though because they were on sale and clearly labeled gluten free!
  2. I really hate when families are like that. I also have some in my family that are very not-understanding. It is really hard but I always bring at least a quest bar in case. They are under 200 calories but have a ton of protein so it keeps you really full and they gluten free. Chocolate chip cookie dough is the best. When I accidentally have gluten or just...
  3. Hello All! I would love a book suggestion that would perhaps give a plan for healing. I would like something that includes a comprehensive list of foods that I should eat and foods I should avoid. Extra points for notations on what is better cooked and what is ok to eat raw in the way of vegetables and fruits. There are several books out there, but I would...
  4. I think it might be because he has been planning on changing jobs and just made the switch recently so maybe he's waiting for benefits to kick in.
  5. Thank you Irish. I had trouble searching for this.
  6. I am pretty sure my brother has celiac disease, but he's in denial. He keeps asking me if I had symptoms that he has, but when I mention that it's just a blood test to see if he may have it, he's like- I don't know. He has; Vitamin D deficiency (that's all he knows of, that's all that was tested) Brain Fog Gastro Intestinal Issues, heartburn daily Recently...
  7. I was like that as a kid, very strange looking back because kids shouldn't have to worry about those things. I have had anxiety my whole life but it is much better since March when I stopped eating gluten. There is a learning curve and I have made mistakes but I have still seen a huge improvement with my anxiety. I think discontinuing the miralax might be...
  8. It really is true. Sometimes journaling your food can just make you crazy because in the beginning everything will bother you. Get some digestive enzymes and the probiotics, they are great for everyones stomach and intestines. The enzymes are a real help! Also make sure to research what foods are easy to digest. People always say eat whole foods! eat whole...
  9. I am actually feeling pretty good today, but thanks karen. I am pretty sure it was the oatmeal because I started having symptoms on the ride up to my grandmas. Then my uncle lives downstairs and smokes inside and the smell kind of emanates through the house, that always makes me feel like crap. My symptoms were confined to after I ate the oatmeal till...
  10. Boudin?? Yesterday we got a shkar( you know the ones who make those rolls) brand pizza and it was sooo delicious. The perfect cheese to sauce ratio. My bf cooked it on the oven rack so it was nice and crispy too. He sauteed some onions and green peppers for the top and chopped some black olives. totally hit the spot since my grandmother kept asking if...
  11. yes, i am in new jersey. I think my body doesn't handle stress well. I think between that and the oatmeal, might have done it. feeling lethargic and headachy today.
  12. Feeling better today, except my fingers feel like they got slammed in a door again. Stomach is a bit iffy. Job interview tomorrow.. oyyy vey. 5 days, that is terrible. You should see the doctor.
  13. I can't deal with his food issues, I really need to watch out for myself for now. He thinks I might have gotten gluten in my mouth from the kids. They had pancakes before we saw them and cookies while we were there. I was so careful not to touch my face, so irritated with myself! My stomach is still feeling rumbly. I was unsure about the oats, I googled but...
  14. I went to visit family today. Made food last night for today and brought snacks. Didn't eat a thing besides what I brought, even brought utensils, ate from my containers. I had bakery on main certified gluten free oatmeal for breakfast, which has quinoa and amaranth too. Took enzymes before eating and I still had a little pain and now I had D. Ughhh last...
  15. So that pain is the pancreas? I was not sure, that was my thought.
  16. Ok I got a handle on the enzymes thing. Generally how long will I have to stay on these? HELP!
  17. Reeds is amazing!!! I am so glad that I discovered ginger and that I like the taste. Its seriously helps more than NSAID's with the pain from arthritis.
  18. What kind of meals does she eat there? I'm always discovering wheat in random things.
  19. Omg it was so tasty though, even left over.
  20. I was sadly in no shape to eat solid foods for lunch! We ended up having it as a side with chicken for dinner. I don't think it would have made it to Georgia!
  21. Yes and WINE is gluten free. WINE, GLORIOUS WINE. People can be so rude. We aren't trying to lose weight necessarily, we are just trying to not die or be seriously ill! DUH!
  22. last summer I was on a bit of a black bean burger kick, I swear that recipe didn't have breadcrumbs in it. Im sure quinoa flakes would work or add another egg to help it along or some cooked rice if it agrees with you.
  23. Sounds like a lot of my symptoms. It might be best to find a better doctor. My doctor also tried to talk me out of getting tested, but I insisted and i was right. You are probably also right. She will have to eat gluten for a period of time to have accurate results of course. I struggled with the idea of getting tested, but I decided it would be best to...
  24. I have been pounding the pepto for months really. Not good at all. It has become obvious that my system needs some help. I think I will try tomorrow to take 2 with breakfast, which is usually my largest meal. I only took one with breakfast today and I still had pain but it was considerably better. I ended up opting for a liquid lunch. 2 scoops protein...
  25. The ginger drink I told you how to make it actually pretty delicious if you like ginger! Even before knowing I had celiac disease or knowing it was helpful I used to make pitchers of it for bbq's in the summer.
