I have to agree with the others. Go gluten-free and forget wasting money and time on lame doctors who can't find their own butt.

I have the same type of reaction and so does my sister. Except so far her blood tests are negative but we know that is neither here nor there.

I have noticed that in the last year I have a hard time really reading things on the shiny paper and smaller print. I could read the poem printed on the back of our $5 bill before that then, my eyes changed. Everything became blury etc.

I am glad you did okay at the party. I am sure you friend never thought that chocolate might contain wheat or gluten. My mother couldn't believe it when I told her so, she has taken up reading ingredients and found that to be true in many cases.

I am lucky, since my change or diet when my friends or family and I get together they try to make sure they have foods I can eat.

Allergy symptoms of varying types and degrees can very with everything be it food, fragrances etc. I cannot breath if someone walks in who has used dryer fabric softner. That is why I make my own dishwasher, fabric softner and many other things. I know what is in it and it is not harmful to me or the environment.

Fruits and vegetables, Kinnickinnick Montana chocolate chip cookies. I like to have stuffed tomatoes or green peppers.For the green peppers, I saute garlic and shrimp and mushrooms together then mix them in with ripe olives, brown rice and goat cheese and bake in my toaster oven.

Rice vermicelli noodles, tinkyada pasta, gluten/ dairy-free spinach lasagna with portabello mushrooms. Stir frys. Celi Mix pancakes.

Lynne-- I hate that you are so sad and you feel that way. Just remember we don't think you are worthless and if you only knew how many of us you have helped. You are not alone we are with you in this and we all feel alone some times.

I was diagnosed with asthma at 17, acid reflux is common in asthmatics. My brother also has asthma and reflux and seems to have problems with wheaty things but won't get tested.

I have very often substituted vegetable oil with canola oil.

I had a doctor that never believed in hypoglycemia until they ran the tests in the hospital. They came and told me I had one of the highest levels they had ever seen. That was a very long time ago and I have long since dumped that doctor.

It's a Dutch brand called HEMA. I'm afraid they only sell it over here.

I love that when I was on holidays and asked them if flour, bread, or wheat was used in anything that they did not look at me like I was a hydra.

I love that the chefs at the resort or who recognized me and knew what my dietary needs were.

I hate living in a redneck city where men think you are only beautiful if you are 6 ft tall 93 lbs, mammary glands that reach Banff, blonde, 20 years old and dumber than a can of sardines. I have never been tall enough, thin enough or dumb enough for the men here.

I hate that society makes people equate thin with beauty and people of size with ugly.

I hate that many people never seem to search for the beauty within instead of the skin deep beauty.

I told the manager in the Montgomery Safeway that if Safeway had originally advertised they had gluten-free foods etc., they would have had a bigger repsone. I also told him that Safeway has just made our lives that much more difficult.

It is so sad that when I go into Safeway all I buy is fruits, veggies, tofu and rice vermicelli noodles.

Isn't it funny how you can hate certain words. I had "irregardless" because it is not a word and a double negative. I also hate the word "issues" it makes me crazy.

I would study up on what are normal foods in Cyprus. I was good in Jamaica because they had tons of fresh fruits and their cuisine does not contain loads of flour and wheat. I wish you the best of luck in Cyprus and let us know how it goes.
