  1. Oh, boy...I smell the end of this thread, now that The Red Wings are golfing!
  2. About the pushups: They've remained the classic upper body resistance training move for a reason--they're very effective, efficient, they target all of the main muscle groups in your arms and chest (there's also some ab work happening), and they require no equipment. The modified pushup that you're doing (from the knees, with a flat back) is just as effective...
  3. Oh, you just wait till my big 500...Witty City!
  4. I LOVE nothing threads, as they let me speak mindlessly and edge ever-closer to 500...
  5. Ahhhhh! Yep, we all knew that insane, ridiculous, drunken "Fan" who punched a female Buffalo fan during game 4 would make all kinds of news in Buffalo and Toronto...probably just what the scum wanted, everyone talking about him. The fact that he could make others feel that Ottawa has a fan base like that just turns my stomach. There's a funny kind of...
  6. I'm surprised they don't have maternity hockey jerseys, as they certainly have them for the cute teens and the hulking body-guard types. Now there's an interesting marketing idea...
  7. Fantasatic! I hope she hangs on until post-game. Ottawa-Detroit final!!!
  8. YYYYYYYYEEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! Lord Stanley, here we come!! And, Leafs fans.......
  9. Erika... Watch for the sandals with sockers, the aging mulleteers (now that you're on the dating scene they will suddenly proliferate, trust me!), and make sure any man you take a second look at has his pants belted firmly at or below his navel. And you may want to take him for a swim before you commit--make certain there are no bathing caps appearing...
  10. How much water do you take in? There really is something to the old adage about eight glasses a day--water is essential for all our bodily functions, and many people are functionally dehydrated. Water is an appetite suppressant, as well. Sometimes we are looking around for food when we are really thirsty, not hungry. Take your weight in pounds, divide...
  11. Some animal (or plant, i.e., nuts or legumes) protein at EVERY meal is important, and has always helped keep my blood sugars from rising suddenly after I've eaten. Do you know, cinnamon has been touted recently as a strong BS stabilizer, and my endocrinologist recommended I consume a bit every day. I've got tight control, so I'm not sure how much the cinammon...
  12. Beautiful stuff, Jerry. I'm an artist (mostly portrait work, and murals), and I love your spatial organization--you have great compositional sense!
  13. I just told my insightful 10-year old son the whole story about this thread and seeing it personified this morning. His response floored me. He said, "Whoa! That lady must have read your thread before she went out to the gym, and cut her hair quick, put on the socks and sandals, and packed her bathing cap to freak you out!" ....wow......
  14. Yes, absolutely. I'm so curious to know what a person is like who looks this way ...is she intelligent? Funny? Celiac?...But most compelling, with all of these signs, is she OLD?
  15. This is UNBELIEVABLE: I went for my intense swim this morning at the Y. Going into the building I saw a woman getting out of her car, and she was wearing the dreaded S & S...striped socks pulled right up almost to her knees and brown Birk knock-offs, I believe. I found this funny as heck as this thread popped right to mind. But wait....she gets out...
  16. ...Certainly would help me ratchet up the posts!
  17. Okay, I'll have to get in on a thread that just lasts and lasts for hundreds of pages...I don't think I've ever actually posted on the OMG thread. I first noticed it when it was already twenty pages long (last summer was a hectic one for me...life kept getting in the way of me sitting at the computer!), and I just kept thinking, "gee, those guys seem like...
  18. I've been a runner for a long time, and as I got to within shouting distance of forty, I began getting the odd stress fracture, tight hamstrings that wouldn't go away, etc. Stuff that has made me start to feel old...So once a week I now get into the pool and tread water as hard as I can for my forty-minute session. I miss the music, but it's true, this does...
  19. I must get on his website and take a look. He should put a pic of himself as his avatar. I think terrorists may let old guys off planes first if they are sporting mullets, as well...
  20. OMG.... This is news. How could I have missed such vital information?! You see, not only can I not make the time to post as much as others, I cannot find the time to simply check in and see what's new. Vincent, great stuff! (I hope Vincent does not wear socks with sandals)...
  21. Jerry, Jerry....much like the situation when it became common knowledge that Vincent sports a mullet, I am calling for an immediate intervention. NEVER should socks (any colour) be paired with sandals (any kind). Even old men cannot get away with this! Maybe that's why terrorists historically let the old guys out of hijacked planes first--they are in socks...
  22. Now, Susan, you're over 2,000 posts, and I joined this forum well before you. I have to start taking this posting job much more seriously...there is obviously an art to slipping posts into your daily schedule--meaningless or not, they still require time and commitment. I need to start posting at work...hmmmmmmmm... So, if magical things may happen at ...
  23. So, Paula! You're at 500! Has anything magical happened to you?
  24. Okay, so you've all gotten a little busy, now that I'm back from work, kids are at school, and my phone's not ringing...my timing's WAY off! I'm out of sinc with everyone...
  25. Oh, crap! I had a life this morning, and didn't get on...boy, am I ever outta this race! 457 posts...pathetic.... How do you guys keep up the frantic posting when you have jobs/spouses/children? I need to know the secret....NEED TO KNOW...
