  1. Well...since my celiac diagnosis I have now also been diagnosed with a dairy intolerance....oh the humanity of it all.... i really struggle with with breakfast as I am a clean eater. typically, I will have a protein shake or scrambled eggs with veg. i am soooo bored with breakfast as I cannot have cheese or yogurt... Any suggestions...
  2. Hi there. I have tried a million different medications for the same issues you have. The only thing that helped me was Effexor. It was a god send. My DR contacted the company and it is 100% gluten free with 0 chance of cross contamination (at least that is what they say). Why are the symptoms you are experiencing when you say "gluten attack...
  3. Yes they are gluten free.
  4. Google "restaurants in Whistler". Have a peak at their menu to see what options you have. Thats what I do every time I travel. I HAVE to pre plan before we go anywhere. I would recommend stopping at a grocery store to get some handy healthy snacks for emergencies. Usually, there are a lot of options at grocery stores. Whistler eateries can...
  5. I also went through the exact same as you. including the insomnia. I was CERTAIN that I had RA. Turns out, nope. I went through all the testing you did...nothing showed up at all. I also lost a but load of weight. Was 135 pounds and got down to 105 pounds at 5'4". Now i am back to 120 pounds, but it took a lot of effort. I went...
  6. I am going to chime in on a different tangent here. You said that you are/have been body building. Are you taking any supplements or enhancements ? Sometimes these types of things can cause stomach issues which in turn can cause other issues. Just a thought
  7. I totally sympathize with how your feeling. I just about had a break down over a donut!! I also love to bake. Some of the best cookie and brownies I have ever had are gluten free!!!! I was diagnosed last February and it is for sure a learning curve. The worst thing for me was traveling. I had to learn to pack lunches for myself or Pre plan where...
  8. I got the "Michael Jackson drug" for my endoscopy. Apparently, I wasn't fully asleep and asked the doctor to not put a scope that has already been in someone else's butt down my throat...I may get germs!!! *****Sooooooo embarrassed ******** Long story short...was super easy and fast and thankfully don't remember a thing.
  9. Not that I , hubby or friends have noticed or commented on
  10. I do not have a bag at the moment ( Will be gracing another today). I will post ingredients as soon as I get the chance
  11. Sweet mother of God...I think I have finally found it!!! As a lover of all things baked, I was devastated to learn of my celiac diagnosis. The first thing I thought was " But I love bread...warm, butter topped, just out of the oven, deliciousness". NOOOOOOOOOOOO I have been trying for a while to get close to replicating my baked little pieces...
  12. Ahhh...hang in there. I KNOW it's tough. I have been there as well. Two months is not a long time considering the food you have been eating your entire life have essentially been killing your villi. Also, learning about the small places where gluten may hide is important. Caramel colour, "modified" starches, etc... are sneaky little places gluten...
  13. I went through a bout last year of the worst insomnia I have ever had. For two months I would fall asleep around 3 am to wake up at 4:30 or would not fall asleep at all. I was a walking zombie and terrified!! People would tell me to exercise more and eat healthy. I eliminated coffee, did a spin class, plus 2 hours of weight lifting, plus walk...
  14. Sometimes the damage to the intestine is so bad that little gets absorbed. Perhaps talk with your Gastro doctor about your concerns?? Did you have a follow up biopsy to see if your villi are healing? I also had the same problem with gaining weight. I was a like skeleton for a while. I found an APP called my fitness pal (FREE). I personalized...
  15. I was thinking ... some things manifest themselves in different ways. Diabetes can be a foul ( sewage) smell odour on the breath. Is it possible that it is your breath? As I do not know you, please do not take my comments as rude. This is not my intention. Ask yourself some questions: Do I bathe daily ? Do I put on clean underwear...
  16. The best thing you could do is NOT Panic. Easier said then done right?? All i can say is be your own advocate. Tell the doctor "these are my symptoms and this is what I think is going on". A blood test is a great, easy first step. But like was previously mentioned...don't stop consuming gluten until you have the testing done. The symptoms...
  17. Ahhhhh makeup...the answer to almost everything. Te he he he I do get rashes from time to time..strange little circles in random places like inner arm, leg, boob..lol I have been reading as much about Celiac as I can, as my doctor and nutritionist do not offer much help at all besides "go online and order some books". I have been reading that...
  18. Ha ha ha...Maybe its just the fact that I am a huge little piggy. I am however VERY active and burn almost 3000 calories a day. But diet for the most part is healthy..i do eat a LOT of food so I didn't really blink an eye at the bag of fruit and nuts.
  19. Where do I start??or is it even and issue?? Summary: Recently diagnosed Celiac. Gut has Healed after one year. Huge under eye circles. Does this mean I have an allergy to something else as well? My family doctor has never had a celiac patient and will not refer me to a specialist. I have asked for an allergy test but he refuses...
  20. Good Morning all, I am a newly diagnosed "silent" Celiac. I was never really sick. I always had a general feeling of being unwell but couldn't describe it. Hair loss, Very dark under eye circles.... It took a stomach biopsy as well as a DNA test to confirm by diagnosis ( the traditional blood work said all was normal). Fast foreword...
  21. I am so very happy that I found this Forum. I am a 32 year old female who was diagnosed with Celiac in January. I never ever had tummy problems. Actually I was living quite happily UNTIL i eliminated gluten. Then all hell broke loose!! :0 My diagnosed started with an intestional biopsy that indicated severe villi atrophy. Blood tests thereafter...
