  1. Well, I tried the Flourless Torte and it was fantastic and I have had NO problems either, not even a little bit. I'm so excited and it wasn't even that expensive! $4.99!!! It is nice to have a store bought desert other than ice cream!!!!
  2. How about Veganase? I'm not sure if it is gluten-free or not, but I thought I would throw it out there as an option. You can find it at most health stores.
  3. One time I was really craving crab rangoons and I used rice wrappers instead of wonton wrapers. You can use one or two and soak them in water for aprox. 10 seconds (just until they get a little loose). Then put your filling in them, wrap them up and toss them into hot oil. Not so healthy, but definately hits the spot. I hope this helps!!!!
  4. So, I guess that means you wouldn't eat it, uhh?
  5. I was just at my local Henrys and they have a "Flourless Chocolate Raspberry Torte" in the frozen foods section (Wild Oats Brand) . I checked the ingredients and nothing stood out as having gluten in it. They also list allergens and wheat was not one of them. Has anyone tried this already?
  6. I'm sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the diet. I have been gluten free for about a year now, and for the first couple of months on the diet I still got sick quite a bit, so I cut out all dairy, eating out and limited my caffeine and alcohol intake to a minimum. I also started reading all of my non-food items. After a few months of cutting...
  7. Hormel Black Label Bacon is glute free (both regular and maple)! I have been eating it all along and have had no problems.
  8. Does anyone know if Lame Advertisement Vitamins are gluten free?
  9. Hi Everyone, I am planning a trip to the San Fran area next month and I will be there for about 5 days. Does anyone have any suggestions for restaurants other than the chains (like outback, pf changs, etc)? I have never been there before and I am hoping for a good dining experience. THANKS!!!
  10. Well,I just got back from the restaurant and got SO sick! I haven't been this sick in months! Luckily I am to the point where I can hold it (just recently) but as soon as I got home, I got sick. I am ready to give up on eating out

    ARCHIVED Z Tejas

Hi! I am going out with a friend tonight and I suggested Z tejas because they have a gluten free menu online, so I thought it might be safe. I called the restaurant that I am going to and asked if their chips and salsa were gluten free, I got passed through 3 people, until finally I got the manager on the phone. He said he thought there was gluten in the...

  14. Hi everyone, I am going on a Yoga retreat in October and I talked to one of my instructors last night about the food that will be offered. There will be a cook there and only 30 people (max) and of course all of the food will be veg. She said that it wouldn't be a problem to accomodate me but asked for a list of all food items that I can't have just to...
  15. I am also thinking about going on a cruise and I heard that Celebrity Cruise Lines are very accommodating. It even mentions Gluten Intollerance on their web site... "Celebrity Cruises can accommodate a variety of dietary needs if requested in advance. (Not all special diets can be met.) They happily accommodate the following special diets on board: diabetic...
  16. Vancouver, WA or BC? I have lots of family in the Portland/Vancouver WA area and could recommend some good places if you are going there, however I don't know anything about the Vancouver, BC area.
  17. Carla, That is crazy! I was at IU from 1999-2003! I have only been gluten free for a year now and haven't been back to B-town since I have been gluten-free, but I will definately have to go to Malibu Grill when I am there. It was one of my favorite places! Is the manager's name Brian? I was friends with someone that worked there. I worked at the Outback...
  18. Carla - I used to live in Bloomington, IN...I went to IU! Small world I guess. Speaking of, I have definately met people at the grocery store, but I can top it all. I met my boyfriend at work and guess what he has Celiac Disease (along with a lot of his family members)! I can't tell you how easy it is to be Gluten Free when your boyfriend is gluten-free...
  19. Hi, I am just hoping to get lucky. Has anyone been to Thai Basil (in tempe) and have any recommendations? They have a vegan menu so I am pretty sure they know what is going into their food, but before I call and start asking all kinds of questions, I was just hoping someone out there has already been there!!!
  20. I live in Phoenix and my friends wanted to go to Honey Bear's BBQ so I emailed the manager and explained my situation (in detail I will add) and this is the response I got... You can eat everything. We do not have wheat bread and we use white flower in the peach cobbler. So you should be fine. Sincerely, Elizabeth Clark Honey Bears BBQ Needless...

  22. Great, thank you for this information. I think I will keep clear of these fries! Does anyone know of any fast food fries that are okay? I have had In & Out's french fries (they have dedicated fryers) and haven't had a problem, but they are always so busy!
  23. Hi there, I was looking at the McDonalds website today and I am wondering if McDonalds Fries are okay to eat or not? There is a message from Celiac Sprue on there but I am still having a hard time deciding whether to eat them or not. Here is the link... let me know what you guys think!! Open Original Shared Link
  24. I am hoping someone will be able to help me out. On the back of the Kinninnick Bread & Bun mix are directions for how to make the bread. I accidently threw mine away after I opened it (I only used half the first time). Now I have half of the mix left and I don't know how much liquid to put with the mix for 1 small loaf. Does anyone have this and can...
