  1. Hi Texas Guy, Welcome. If you are going to be tested for celiac disease, you don't want to cut out gluten because you can get a false negative. Can you get in to see your doctor sooner? Do you have the ability to email your doctor or do phone appointments? If so, I certainly would contact him/her with your concerns and ask for a sooner appointment...
  2. Hi Heather, I am having an endoscope on Friday, so I've not yet been diagnosed. But, yes, I have had many similar symptoms on and off for years, all of which worsened in the fall with a stressful medical situation with my guy. I suggest you check back with your doctor as soon a possible to obtain your results.
  3. Mixy, It seems to me you should never have to explain to anyone else what your dietary plan is, and you should never have to eat food that do not correlate with that plan. Since you suspect gluten, and because you are eating gluten now, then it might be a good idea to talk to your doctor about whether it is gluten or some other food additive that...
  4. Firewrangler, Have you contacted a doctor lately with your concerns? Specifically asked for testing?
  5. I agree. Since the cookie was gluten free, your body was reacting to something else. I also think it's important to not self-diagnose/test because even if you feel better without gluten, you don't know if you are celiac or just have an intolerance to gluten and/or wheat. It's better to go through the testing.
  6. The tingling in the hands and feet is horrible, in fact. I am also waiting for my endoscope next Friday.
  7. Hi, @KJDx I know the feelings of frustration well, as I've been dealing with similar symptoms for quite sometime now, which worsened when I was hit with a family emergency in the fall. I went to the doctor with many of the symptoms you describe above, plus swollen lymph nodes. The doctor gave me antibiotics, but they didn't help. In order to get an appointment...
  8. Flightgoddess, thank you. I had to look that one up. I am sure the endoscopy will include the above and be thorough. I never thought I'd actually look forward to a medical procedure so I can find out what is going on with my body.
  9. I love Betty Crocker anything, though I have never tried those gluten free mixes. I did make Glutino brownies for a Christmas party, and they were a hit! I am amazed with how many gluten free parties are on the market at reasonable prices too.
  10. I agree with Kareng. Here is a link from Chipotle on this subject: Open Original Shared Link
  11. I will be going for my endoscopy on Februry 19. The other day in reading about Celiacs, I read about the strange rashes often associated with celieacs and gluten intolerrance. About six months ago, a rash exactly as you describe showed up on the backs of my knees. The doctor didn't know what it was, thought maybe it was ringworm, and gave me some topical...
  12. This is all very interesting. @jddh, it sounds like you have been through the ringer these last few years. I hope you are feeling better soon.
  13. Thank you, Cyclinglady, I look forward to reading the links you provided. I am eating regular gluten, and looking forward to making my bread today. Even if it turns out I don't have celiac, it seems that cutting back on gluten and wheat these last few days has helped my acid reflux. I'm looking to researching more. Thank you again.
  14. I just found this forum and signed up because I strongly suspect that the root of my digestive issues could be either wheat or gluten, or maybe both. I have an endoscopy on February 19, 2016 because I went through a horrendous GERD attack in September/October after a stressful family medical emergency (partner had open heart surgery following an ER visit...
