ARCHIVED Anyone Doing Scd?
DingoGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
It took probably 2 - 3 months to gain back the weight, I didn't have much of an appetite. I have been underweight for a while and started losing again before Celiac diagnosis. Now gaining on gluten-free diet. I remember also feeling really awful on the antibiotics for c-diff and it takes a few days, after finishing, to get THAT fully out of your system... -

DingoGirl posted a topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
Anyone know for sure if Wellbutrin is definitely gluten-free? Took half a pill today and am crawling out of my skin - have taken it before with great results, though..... Thanks! Susan -

DingoGirl replied to Rachel--24's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
Rachel - I don't know what the SCD diet is (but will research) but I do hope that between that and HOPEFULLY curing your c. diff and other bacteria that you will be feeling SO much better soon! I lost a ton of weight during my siege wtih c. diff and didn't have it nearly as long as you seem to have had it.... -

DingoGirl replied to DingoGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
God bless all of you for your thoughtful replies and your prayers. I guess I feel REALLY discouraged about this breakup because I AM 44 YEARS OLD!!!! Bless you Robbin...the man I just broke up with WAS mydream man - - the most kind, caring human I have ever known. To a fault, though....all of the people he was taking care of financially, emotionally... -
I have a juicer and used to LOVE my fresh juices, but haven't used it in a while. But, I just read on here yeterday on a thread about - memory problems or something? - I CAN'T REMEMBER - - that carrot, apple and grape would help restore our brains.....I immediately ran to store to stock up on carrots and apples. Also peel and put in fresh ginger...

I'm practically Amish when it comes to the computer... I am wondering how to highlight and reply to part or parts of a post....when I hit reply, the whole message shows up. Also, what does "DH" mean? People use it a lot and I can't figure it out - something to do wtih spouses, I think, but I've seen it used in other references also, maybe...

ARCHIVED Depression And Despair
DingoGirl replied to DingoGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I just came and read what you guys wrote, and promptly burst into tears. But in a good way....no one in my immediate world understands what this is like, but you all do. Yes, losing the fiance at the same time is doubly hard..... Have to keep telling myself there is a reason and purpose for all of this.....and that that really WASN'T the man God had... -
I just posted something under weight loss/gain/depression but I thought I'd better post separately. I have suffered from deep depression for years, it got worse the sicker and more malnourished I became. Been gluten-free just 6 weeks, felt FANTASTIC the first 3 or 4.....but now find myself kind of dangerously sad, slipping into a black hole, and...

ARCHIVED Weight Loss Then Gain/depression/help
DingoGirl replied to bknutson's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I know how you feel....I have put on about 15 pounds in 6 weeks, and I know we NEEDED to as we were malnourished, but I don't like it either. And, as of the last couple of weeks, am NOT eating any junk except potato chips here and there. I've never eaten better in my life, in fact - - tons of veggies, fruits, lean meats, fish and chicken....no dairy as... -
ARCHIVED Speech Problems - Following Through With Sentences

Wow German Guy! Thanks for all of that, when my brain's not so foggy (like maybe in the morning) I am going to look at that more closely...it sounds hard but maybe it's not that hard? We will see. I have about a 5-second memory now, hopefully that will improve... -

ARCHIVED Speech Problems - Following Through With Sentences
DingoGirl replied to Lisa's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I've been gluten-free for about 6 weeks and I don't know what's goign on......was in a FOG for years, then came out of it dramatically after being gluten-free for just 5 days......but am kind of in it again. A more alert fog, I will say, but, I can't remember anything for more than about 5 seconds and everything seems really confusing. Can barely perform... -
ARCHIVED Major D All Day Today - Panic Over Work Tomorrow
DingoGirl replied to DingoGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Wow Veronica, I think working in a checkout line would be one of the worst things for us! I could imagine having to run off several times a day.... I had to give notice yesterday at work, in a way. I won't be assistant manager and work the front any more - there is just too much pressure if I'm the only one there and there's no bathroom nearby.... -
And you know what, it is SO awesome to have this board, since no one in my world understands this like you guys do!!

Hi Sassy! You sound really fabulous and perky for a "newbie" - usually, those are the saddest, most bewildered ones (myself included!). What's your secret??????

ARCHIVED Dairy-free Breakfast Ideas?
DingoGirl replied to DingoGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
THANK YOU, THANK YOU guys for those suggestions! Somehow I was just drawing a blank and kind of in a state of grief at not only losing GLUTEN, but then dairy. But, my stomach is about 3 inches flatter than yesterday.... I think that in heaven, there are great, fluffy clouds made of ice cream, BREAD, good fluffu gluten-filled muffins, homemade CHOCOLATE... -
ARCHIVED Distended Stomach - Lots Of Pain - I'm Confused!
DingoGirl replied to DingoGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
It's a toaster oven, and it was kind of an expensive one.....and if I've run my cookware through the DW, shouldn't all of that be okay? I think it's dairy. Today I ate a big helping of tapioca pudding, oh, and also a big glass of milk at breakfast, and if you didn't know me, you'd SWEAR I was 6 months pregnant! BIG BLOAT!!! -
Hi all - I'm SO sad to have to give up dairy, hopefully it is temporary. I can handle the rest of the day, but I really don't know what to do about breakfast. You guys are awesome, anybody have any dairy-free breakfast hints? I can only think of peanut butter on gluten-free bread of gluten-free waffles......no more cottage cheese wtih fruit, yoghurt...

ARCHIVED Distended Stomach - Lots Of Pain - I'm Confused!
DingoGirl replied to DingoGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Rachel your memory is better than you think....I have NOT replaced toaster, etc. But, if I live alone, and cleaned everything, do I really need another??? Grrrr.....this is SO taxing! I mean, when we're feeling great, it seems worth it, but when we're not....it's just TAXING!!! -
ARCHIVED Distended Stomach - Lots Of Pain - I'm Confused!
DingoGirl replied to DingoGirl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
When I met with my GI after biopsy results he said that I had NO villi whatsoever, the surface of small intestine was virtually flattened. I have been reading that it is the tips of the villi that produce the lactase... Frankly, Nisla, I am worn out from checking for GLUTEN in everything but you could be right, it could be in SOMETHING that I've... -
