  1. I am puzzeled, by your story, have to admit....your villi may have been restored from years of being gluten-free, but eventually, I think it would have caught up with you again.....so glad that you're back to eating right!
  2. Wow - most people, from what I"m reading, seem to feel it rather quickly, and mine is 12 to 13 hours later. And then, the most painful D for half the day. Then, it's over after that. Just some gas but nothing horrendous like before, when eating half a bag of pretzels a day (before dx).....
  3. I LOVE snopes.....
  4. Good information...I drink lots of water and minimal caffeine, and you are right, dehydration is exhausting! I am going to try the charcol, great idea. NAPPING? I couldn't fall asleep during the day if you put a gun to my head. So sad. I am jealous of nappers... I just remember Excedrin...am going to see if it's gluten-free, THAT gives me energy!...
  5. Got two hours sleep last night. And I need 8 hours!! (possibly a result of Tues. night's accidental and horrendous glutening - hits me the next day). Coffee doesn't do it for me. Red Bull doesn't do it. Not sure caffeine has any affect on me (maybe if I drank POTS and POTS of coffee). What do you guys do to stay clear-headed and alert on little...
  6. Dangerous information for me.....have to watch my weight for the first time in my life, and WHY is food SO FREAKING GOOD now? never cared about it in my life, and now, holy cow, I want to eat all the time ! must.....not....order Chebe - - -
  7. Ditto, Nini. It's a show made for entertainment!
  8. Yes, yes, it gets better. Don't miss out on events wtih family/friends. ALWAYS take your own food, or eat before. Don't let it steal your life!
  9. I also have a wonderful case of adult acne! Comes and goes....so I went to the doctor and got Duac. Absolutely love it - cleared it up right away and I just use it every few days now. It is a little bit drying. My doctor gave me samples and I'll definitely fill the prescription if needed. Good luck!
  10. I am no stranger to depression, and back in December, I was begging God to let me die (before diagnosis). Went gluten-free in January, felt better right away, and then plummetted. Now, I can honesly say I have never felt better in my life. BUT - I did decide to go back on a very low dose of an antidepressant for as long as I needed to...you may need to...
  11. Chelsea, good for you! Hospice is SO SO wonderful....we used them when my dad was dying of cancer almost 20 years ago....just the kindest people. I"ll never forget the kind words spoken at exactly the right time, about one hour before my dad died, by a gentle Hospice nurse, which prompted me into an action I might not have thought to do... I went through...
  12. Smacked by a tree?? You poor thing! Hope you heal quickly....
  13. Yup.....they are good shows as they are SO entertaining (Boston Legal) and overly dramatic (ER)....but realistic? Not much of the time....
  14. I don't know about Hashimoto, but as Jen said, two months isn't long. In my case, I felt really great almost immediately after going gluten-free, then one month into it, went into a crashing depresion and felt run over by a truck. Went on a very low dose of an antidepressant, which I take only every two to three days, and now feel great. Give yourself...
  15. Never have I appreciated that more than this morning! You can lose an entire DAY from not being really strict and careful. And if you have more than one questionable thing in a day, you can't know what did it! Maybe should not eat the two leftover Chipotle tacos I was so looking forward to....
  16. That is exactly what I was going to suggest. They're made by Cantella, a bit expensive, but I can't get enough of the cilantro/green pepper ones, eat one of those with two eggs and NEVER get sick of them!
  17. Thanks, guys, for that info. I don't know how long that juice has been around....could have been months in my friend's pantry as he's a bachelor and single father and keeps things on hand for quite a while... Feeling better now. Thanks for your responses. I can't think of what, other than the juice, it would have been, unless it was CC from Chipotle...
  18. Ugh. Drank some Sunny Select "cranberry" juice last night, desperate for a beverage at a friend's house.....contained NATURAL and ARTIFICIAL flavors....what does that really mean? Of what do these "flavors" consist? This is only the second time in almost four months that I need to be near a toilet...that's the only thing I know of yesterday that was suspicious...
  19. Okay, is this a trick question? You're on east coast time....
  20. So sad....sad for you, the guinea pig, and sad for us....I was getting all excited about having a Rolling Rock.....
  21. You know...my mom, in her late 60's, was getting them off and on, and the doctor told her part of her tonsil had grown back, said it was tonsilitis, and gave her an antibiotic. But, she just said that her tonsil is swollen again....
  22. buon giorno, FM, and WELCOME! (ho dimenticato quasi TUTTO l'italiano!) Susan
  23. I eat it all the time, no problems at all, and have cheese and onions in it. In fact, kind of sick of it now! Susan
  24. Ewwwww - gross! I have them too, and STILL have them almost four months gluten-free. Not as much, though. Tonsil stones.....what next??
