  1. I noticed this post this morning, as did many others if you noticed. I don't know the answer to your question. I didn't want you to think no one was answering. I would interpret the results the same way you did but I don't know for sure. When my son had his blood tested the results went back to his Ped. GI. He called and simply said, " his antibody levels...
  2. Thanks for that list. You named some on there that I haven't checked into yet. My family son, father, and aunt are all Celiac and we agree Tinkyada is the best.
  3. My son was diagnosed last year at 4. He was constipated, bloated, and had dark circles. He started out, before the idea of Celiac, having a sigmoidascope. Afterwards, he had the endoscopy. Still later, he had a colonoscopy. He was put to sleep for all 3 and he handled it all very well with the exception of the gas after the colonoscopy. In between all...
  4. Just a question, what is biscotti? I have seen gluten-free recipes for it but I have not tried it because I do not know what it is. Would a child like it or is it more of an adult taste? Nicole
  5. Hi, my son was diagnosed last May. His primary symptom was severe and chronic constipation. The doctor only looked for Celiac because my father has it too. I, so far, do not. Anyway, my son has been in the 95th percentile for height and weight his whole life. At his worst, last year, he lost weight but it still didn't put him under the 90th percentile...
  6. Hi, my son has been gluten free for about 9 months but my father is also Celiac so I am very familiar. Yes, corn and rice are ok. If you see modified food starch and your not sure what it is made of just call the company that makes it. That is one of the first things I did. If any of his favorite foods were unclear I called. I also called all of the...
  7. The envirokids animal cookies are good but they also make very good cereal bars. They are similar to a rice krispy treat. So far I have found them in chocolate, peanut butter, and berry. My son likes all three and his non celiac brother and cousins fight over them too.
  8. My son is 5 and has been gluten free for 9 months. I have taught him that he is not even aloud to touch cookies, cupcakes, bread, etc. without asking if it is gluten free. I feel bad that I kind of made it seem scary but be knows if someone other than me gives him something, he is to ask "is it gluten free". I was so proud of him, my 14 year old cousin...
  9. Thank you for writing. I sounds like your daughter has the same problem as my son. NIcole
  10. I am extremely frustrated with McDonalds. My son is 5 and was diagnosed in May. I got on the phone right away and called the food places he liked best to see which he could still eat. The first being McDonalds. I was given an 800 number for their nutrition center which I called. They assured me that the fries were gluten free. Today I heard on the news...
  11. When my son was an infant, be used to projectile vomit everytime he had formula whether it be soy or milk based. They ended up putting him in Nutramigen formula. I forget which company makes it. I believe, bare with me it has been 5 years, that it does not have milk protein in it. I can't remember for sure. But he was on it until he was a year old. ...
  12. I follow pretty much the same policy. As far as at home, my son does have his own toaster because the risk of cc is so great due to all the crumbs that gather at the bottom of a toast. Even if you dump it, you really don't scrub it out. Pots and pans I do use the same but I cook his food first and put it aside. Then I cook the rest. As far as school...
  13. My son has been gluten free for since last May. In August his blood was tested again by a second opinion doctor. His blood levels were so high that it showed him as being actively sick with no improvement at all, even though he was strictly gluten free and getting better. While it was too soon for his levels to be completely normal, there should have been...
  14. This is very interesting. We first noticed the constipation when he was a baby. He was on Nutramigen formular which is the one without milk protein. But that was because he was constantly throwing up. Once he was 1, he was put on milk. That is when it started. We have been through the emergency room too. They once gave my son 4 enimas in one day and...
  15. My son had a similar situation. About a year ago he became very sick with constipation. It sounds pretty simple but he was so bad that he would be shaking, screaming, sweating, and crying just to pass a small amount of soft stool. He only made it to pre school 1-2 days a week from Jan. - June. My GI ran several tests including the blood test for the antibodies...
  16. My son had a similar situation. A year ago he began suffering with severe constipation. The doctor began running many tests. His antibody level for gluten sensitivity was so high it was through the roof. The doctor had never seen such high levels. He felt certain it was celiac. The biopsy though came back negative because there was no flattening. My...
  17. Thanks for the tip. I will try anything. It is very stressful and we have been dealing with the constipation for over a year. He wil be starting kindergarten in Sept. and I would like to get him regulated so he doesn't need to worry in school about either not being about to go, or it being so loose due to t he meds that he has trouble cleaming himself...
  18. My 5 year old son was diagnosed with Celiac a year ago. He was severely constipated to the point that he could never have a bowel movement without the help of laxatives. At his worst, an emergency room doctor gave him 4 enimas in one visit. None of which made him go to the bathroom. After many tests, his blood showed very high levels of the antibodies...
