  1. I'll remember that next time I'm in Conway...I'm sure it beats the Stoby's bathroom! Amen! My purse is two pockets short of a diaper bag, and I don't even have kids
  2. My natural haircolor is a bizarre combination of blonde, light brown, and red. This color was supposed to be strawberry blonde, but I erm, forgot to tell my hair lady how quickly and strongly red dye takes to my hair. My natural haircolor is all wrong for my complexion, so I help it out When I was little, it was bright red (like Vincent's son) and...
  3. Speaking of avatars... <------ Check THAT out!!!! I've been walking around like that since Saturday. Wasn't supposed to be that color...that's what I get for being too naturally red and trying to get my hair dyed a different color red. Back to the hair lady tomorrow I enjoy that...it keeps us up to date with Molly

ARCHIVED Celiac Sprue & Doctor Too!

You have fun with that. Even the COMPANY tells you to stay away from it, and it's not good enough for you. I'm assuming that in this scenario where the celiac has to choose between the taco or going hungry, Taco Bell no longer makes pintos and cheese or steak bowls with no jalepeno sauce? I agree with Jessica, you're free to knowingly ingest gluten, but...

  9. Of course, always check the label, but last time I checked, Kraft Blue Cheese Dressing is gluten-free. Kraft will always disclose gluten clearly as wheat, barley, rye, or oats. They never hide gluten under things like "natural flavors".
  10. My mom has low sodium, resulting mostly in low blood pressure. She was hospitalized once and was made to drink tons of tomato juice and eat saltine crackers, etc. etc. She thinks everything tastes salty, even if it's not. I'd get tested again, low blood minerals are nothing to mess around with...
  11. Geeze, doctors. Just because you go to medical school and graduate doesn't mean that the medical world stops spinning and all facts remain static Bring him some of the latest research articles showing that celiac disease occurs in as many as 1 in 133 people...
  12. Yeah, I didn't have it checked out, may ask the dr next time I go in. That is why I did all that lupus research, because of the redness on my face and across my nose. I just determined that I'm a redhead and as such, I'm always blushing That Irish blood is causing me all kinds of problems
  13. IBS = I Be Stumped Syndrome usually means that you have symptoms that go into the same barrel as other people's symptoms that are similar, but they don't know why either of you have them.
  14. My mom had osteo in her knees (SEVERE) before she got her knees replaced (she's really young, only in her early 50's) and she says that she avoided wheat because it made her arthritis worse. As far as we know, she doesn't have celiac (though she hasn't been tested yet). Rheumatoid arthritis is the one associated with celiac because they're both autoimmune...
  15. All gluten all the time both sucks and blows I'm eating a disgusting amount of food in order to keep that reaction going all week! I didn't mean that the sun rashes are exclusive to lupus, I just remember from my previous lupus research that they can occur... just throwing some ideas out there I get these kind, but only...

  20. Canola oil is gluten-free, it comes from rape seed, which is part of the mustard family. Sorry you aren't feeling well, chgomom!
  21. Canola oil is actually quite healthy for you. It's one of the healthiest cooking oils out there. Certainly better for you than garden variety vegetable oil.
  22. Wheat didn't show up because celiac isn't an allergy. It's an autoimmune intolerance and stirs up different types of antibodies from allergies. She may be lactose intolerant because her villi are still damaged from the celiac, and lactase (the enzyme that digests lactose) is produced on the tips of the villi. That would cause the gas and bloating after...
