  1. I gotta agree. I only (mainly) eat raw cheeses and mainly buffalo, goat or sheep. In addition to this you also get a lot of pro-biotics natually ... one specific oner is found in the stomachs of cows and sheep and of course is part of the rennet in a real cheese but pasturising kills them off. There is a probitic thread somewhere which specifally...
  2. I agree the proof is in the testing and ultimately I know many people react be it CC or the oil. But I think what is important is to consider the companies record and ethics. Kraft seem very good in their labelling and in the UK, part of Walmart .. ASDA .have always been very good too also.. in the UK we have a brand of potato chips called Walkers...
  3. Sorry I was just joking but I have trivia ??? ... both are Roman dishes and the main differences are the type of rice (arboria gives it the creaminess and you flash fry the rice first) ... and risotto usually has alcohol added (white wine or vermouth) which dissapeared from the Spanish in the Islamic occuption. Both are fabulous There are as...
  4. I think the thing to consider is a two parter 1) do enterolab have an interest in providing positives ? possibly 2) This is your health would you rather play safe your decision ... From what i read they are not some scam, perhaps they count questionable as positive, is that a bad thing? Personally I don't think so .. I would be more worried...
  5. Hmm perhaps there is a reason for that But overall mango summed it up, its a personal decision .. I for one wouldn't trust McDo's so unless there are independent analyses taken randomly I wouldn't risk it... seriously if I want to take a risk i can think of far better things and a banana is a good enough snack (or mango ..) and healthier all round...
  6. Hey! That's what I was going to say.... actually was going to suggest a risotto but ... what's the exact difference again? I guess just the arborio rice?
  7. In Italy you buy gluten-free in a pharmacy. The one right opposite the Duomo has a fair collection but there are other stores too. One is a international "supermarket" off to the eat down a small alley, I found it while looking for string of all things? There is also a place outsiode Florence at the big mall complex, I never tried but was told of it...
  8. Yep, I do the same, especially if its in another language and you prefer a quiet time to make sure you follow everything. I don't want to publically knock AFDIAG but .... if you phone them up they will tell you point blank no safe resto's exist in Paris ... no recommendations etc. etc. I don't know how long they have been around but its more than...
  9. Yes, it seems weird but I had similar problems with my best friend. He wass tremendously supportive in many things, including saying how guilty he was when I went for councelling during my divorce ... he simply felt he should have been there for me ... but the gluten thing took him ages and lots of insensitive comments. Often those who have known us...
  10. Yes its no different to say a smoker who smokes 40 a day. If someone who doesn't smoke tries to smoke 40 they would be violently sick ... meanwhile that person is suffering general poorer health than they would otherwise but they don't really realise it unless they quit. Gluten is the same, if you keep imbibing it then you will continue to be sick albeit...
  11. Im curious as to what they have inside the members section. Im naturally suspicious of sites where you have to pay to see inside the useful part (though the cost of membership is reimbursable from SECU).
  12. That's what the sticky is for.. but for some reason on this forum almost everything is marked sticky so it just puts the most recent one at the top? Short of removing the stickies from normal threads I don't think this can be done without hacking the IPB code.
  13. I could but I honestly don't see why I would bother. I get 30-40 people a day checking my gluten free site but not a single one has bothered to even leave a single message or make a single post on the forum. People have visited the resto's but noone has bothered to even post a comment back. Several people have mailed me for help which I reply to...

    ARCHIVED Fiance

Whoah there ... you probably made some of the best observations! It could be he is embarassed by the attention or it could be he is put out by you getting the attention or he could just be selfish and be upset his dining out is limited. If its the former then this can be handled to an extent by going around first and explaining qand dropping off a...
  15. Bleach won't make any difference one way or the other ... if you want a specific cleaner then alcohol is best since gluten is by definition soluble in alcohol. Slow down, Im just trying to illustrate how to view gluten. If you think of it like rat poision then it really helps, except of course rat poision is usually not so toxic in small amounts...
  16. Apparently its only the liquid Immodium which contains gluten, the tablets apparently contain corn. However on the high side, I kinda agree but its not exactly a pleasant high more of a confused thoughts and semi-out of body experience and the doom and gloom withdrawal seems many times more pronounced. This would seem to be true but (and Ill try...
  17. LOL True, eating lots of fruit is always a good way to clear yourself out... As a kid that grew up in the countryside I would regualrly find a cherry tree or fruit bushes and eat lots and oif course this produces belly ache and D in everyone. I don't know about kinnikinnik but I know lots of gluten-free stuff is full of just about everything else...
  18. The best defense is attack in the case of brainfog .... We have a few facts and plenty of speculation .... 1) Fact: gluten is an exorphin and binds to the endorphin receptors 2) Fact Gluten damages the receptors 3) fact: Endorphins regualate mood and self awareness 4) fact opiates are also exorphins 5) presumed ... opiates don't damage the recptors...
  19. If they are stainless steel then they will clean up ... lots of elbow grease and scouring and throw away the scouring pad afterwards. Well the dishcloths are probably the first thing ... but if you are vacuuming up gluten (be it dog biscuits or whatever) then it will be recirculated out into the air unless its a hypo-allergenic one with the special...
  20. The point is there is gluten-free and Gluten-Free. Life is full of risks and choices, all we can do is swing them in our favor. If your husband had a penchant for making rat poision at home would you use the same pans and coat them in tin foil? Of couse you can eat far more rat poision than gluten without being sick but replace this with the noixious...
  21. Personally I have no problems with corn, after all they need some food grade binder to make tablets and if it wasn't corn based it would be another food deriviative which is potentially going to upset someone. However the easiest thing is to try and find other loperamide manufacturers that use something you are not intolerant to. Its a shame they...
  22. Good question. ... and i beleive one with several answers. I think the problem is any organized opposition that isn't sen as a fringe organisation or as bad as the cartels themselves. The obvious people are organisations like Greenpeace however they are just as dishonest and crooked as the cartels they resist. The arguament seems to be the same...
  23. You can start here and follow links Open Original Shared Link edit oops forgot link
  24. It doesn't need to be easy.... but in terms of non-stick then boiling oil might just help As an analogy then lead doesn't come out of lead pipes very easily either but we no longer use them for drinking water.
  25. I'm certainly not excusing them but mostly they either respond to public opinion or their publicists. I for one make every effort NOT to follow anything they do but look on this board with posts about Angelina Joli and Brad Pitt .... now I haven't even opened that thread .. why would I there are probably 20 people on my street with newborn babies if I...
