I found this link, which I think is really helpful--its just like our lists of foods we can eat and cannot eat, except its in french, so if you see the forbidden things (in the right column) on menus or product labels, then you'll know to steer clear of them.   4. No I certainly didn't go back to that lousy restaurant--if I could remember the name right now, I'd add it. I've tried to repress the memory, but I'm sure my boyfriend would know. He was definitely thinking more clearly than I was at the time.
  5. I'm flying to Paris in May on Air India, and they have a million and a half dietary options for their meals; one of which is gluten free.     I've gotten the shakes pre- and post-diagnosis. I also think it's low blood sugar--I need to graze throughout the day; otherwise, I get the shakes, migraines, upset stomach, and I crave gluten to the point that I've held a croissant in my hand before realizing how bad it would be even to take a single bite.

  10. I've actually tried both--I have an extreme allergy to arrowroot , which has caused me to rush to the hospital with a closed throat, but I have absolutely no problem with tapioca starch or flour. So Jerseyangel, I agree that you'll probably be fine with arrowroot.
  11. Hi LauraJ, I'm actually a grad student at Penn State, and I actually love tailgating as well. My boyfriend makes gluten free fried chicken for me and I drink wine while the rest of the folks eat brats and beer. It's so much fun. Let me know the next time you tailgate--we always have plenty of gluten free food.

I had a similar experience at PF Chang's in San Diego--they sent the food out gluten free but then they gave me the gluten filled sauce, and since I'd never eaten there before, I didn't know what the gluten free sauce was supposed to look like. The server ran out and said the sauce was not gluten free only after I happily and obliviously ate several bites...
  16. I really truly miss eating chop chop, but I've been glutened at Chicken Kitchen more times than I'd like to admit--I just didn't want to give it up because its so great for fast food. There are just too many problems with cross contamination--even if they clean the board and use tongs and a knife that has not chopped the pita.
