Yes Rachel, FESS UP!!!! I am sooo curious to hear Donna, Bumblebar? Or since I've been gone did you get over your little obsession?? I found a new treat that I occasionally have and they don't make me sick- Lara Bars in the Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Mint flavors, YUMMO!!! So good hard to believe these little bars of goodness are... -

Hello beautiful people It seems like Rachelville has been kind of quiet the last couple days....... Andrea- I'm so glad the appt went well I'm really not sure of the costs for the thermal imaging, I was offered a deeply discounted price at the time because it was a new tool and they were testing it out on patients at the Naturopathic center... -

I agree Ami, it sounds like you got a lot accomplished in your appt today and that all bases are being covered. I had a chance to do that thermal imaging thing several years back, I could kick myself for not taking advantage of the opportunity, it sounds neat. -

Wow, lots to catch up on. Lots of scientificness the last couple of days too. Thanks Rachel for all of the informative posts. I always thought it was so fascinating with this type of alternative medicine that the state of health of the mouth has a lot to say about the state of helath of the body and vice versa. Also thanks Rachel, Andrea... -

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday Carla- I don't know a thing about the mold either, so nothing for me to contribute there, nor with the amoxy. It sounds like you are in good hands with your doctor and you are progressing with all your treatments. I hope your sleep continues to improve and that next week's herx isn't too terribly uncomfortable... -

I was also told that when dysbiosis (sp?) is present in the body in a chronically ill situation (like for example candida overgrowth), dry hot heat is a better climate to be in- humidity can actually make one sicker or symptoms flare. For me this has been true, when it's a rainy day and humidity is high I feel terrible. Another boo for Kaiser BOO... -

Good morning, so much to catch up on! Carla and Donna I am so glad you had better nights, another ditto on the sleep success Carla, I also agree about the sun exposure. I have been making an effort to sit outside for 15 minutes everyday (without sunscreen for Vit D absorption) and I feel it has made a world of difference. Also just getting... -

Carla, I'm sure that's what that was, a Freudian slip!!! Thanks Andrea, I'll take a look at the link and hopefully I can find it in my area, sounds really good! One more thing before I turn in: This is so true! Exercise is so important when chronically ill to keep everything oxygenated as well as the lymph drainage... -

OMG! That really was a typo...must go back and fix.......... Glad you are at 80% Andrea, thanks . I'll have to look for that Coconut Bliss, what is it a bar of some kind? Do you know the ingredients by chance? -

Carla, it makes perfect sense, it's like the clouds are parting (my favorite phrase) and everything is just clear, like looking at the world through a new pair of glasses. I'm very happy for you I hope you and Adam get some sleep tonight! I'm doing much better, thanks for asking. My angioedema outbreaks got really bad and I developed anaphylaxis... -

You might not have any problem getting a bag of graham crackers, but at the Vitamin Cottages I shop at they usually clear out of everything that was delivered that same day, very popular products. I have called before and had the store put the items I wanted on hold for me and they were more than happy to do it. Also, I have found that the different... -

Oh Rachel, I am so sorry I can empathize, reminds me of all the multiple rounds of NAET treatments I went through. All of the foods with the components that were being cleared had to be avoided for 25 hours, needless to say there was not a lot of eating going on 2 or 3 days out of the week. I ate a lot of steamed cauliflower and on occasion unenriched... -

I have perfected the method of using the Food For Life Rice Tortillas for sandwiches and wraps. I heat my oven to 350 degrees and throw one right on to the rack for a few minutes each side until it is soft and warm and pliable. Then I pile on my sandwich toppings (a favorite combo of mine is a layer of lettuce, ground turkey meat that has been seasoned... -

Donna, I also freeze a lot of stuff in individual servings and my meals aren't even portable It really helps me to be super organized and make large batches of my meats and some starches ahead of time and then separate them into single servings and keep them in the freezer. I know fresh is best, but with busy lives fresh kind of takes the back burner... -

Hi Jin Another most excellent post! I agree that laughter is a wonderful medicine, that was a big part of Rachelville and I know all the laughs and camaraderie helped me through some rough times. I am not sure whose protocol exactly I followed, I will have to look up Hal Huggins to see if it's familiar. I was very fortunate at the time to have... -

Good morning lovely ladies and man (Tom) Carla, I like that way of thinking too. Parasites are a fact of life and their sole purpose of being is to invade other living things and use them as a host. I used to have a lot of anxiety and fear about them when I was told I was pretty much infested with them (what a nice thing to be told ),... -

Green12 replied to celiac-mommy's topic in Gluten-Free Foods, Products, Shopping & Medications
I don't react to Amy's products, I eat them a lot and do fine with them. I remember a couple of threads about this very issue last year, it seems some react and some don't. -

ARCHIVED It's The Little Things...
Green12 replied to JustMeInMD's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I don't think that's pathetic at all. It has been very hard for ALL of us in the beginning to adjust to all of the dietary changes and all the stumbling through what to eat/what not to eat, let alone figure out the cooking and baking. It does get easier with time, it may not seem like it where you are standing, but it honestly and truly does. You... -

Hi Sweetfudge, I don't personally know of any websites that I can vouch for all of the contents. As with anything, you have to be careful what kind of information is being put out there. Everything I learned was through my experiences when I was under the care of naturopaths, osteopaths, acupuncturists, nutritionists, and the ocasional MD who swayed... -
ARCHIVED Response I Got My From Alexis Stewart
Green12 replied to VegasCeliacBuckeye's topic in Publications & Publicity
I had the same thought. The percentage of people having gluten intolerance and celiac disease is very significant, I would think that Alexis and her mother are bound to know someone or even have family members that are dealing with this, or even some other food allergy or issue like lactose intolerance, something that makes them incredibly sick when they... -
ARCHIVED Enjoy Life Snickerdoodle Cookies
Green12 replied to tabdegner's topic in Gluten-Free Recipes & Cooking Tips
Sorry, I don't have a recipe for you but I wanted to post a couple of thoughts. I would think that if you could find a recipe that has a date base and cinnamon as the spice flavoring that would be your best bet and a good match to these cookies. These are the ingredients in the Snickerdoodles: Sorghum Flour; Date Paste; Grape, Apple and Pear Juice... -

Hi Ami, I'm glad you are looking in to things and researching the amalgam removal process. It's good to be armed with all of the information so you can ask your dentist lots of questions when you go in to meet with him for your consultation. I had mine taken out almost 15 years ago so I'm kind of obsolete, not really up on the latest as to the protocols...
