  1. This coming from someone who can't say menstruation? Otherwise known as OMG part 2, the sequel
  2. Brilliant! Milking cows is actually what we were needing to add to the story here Oh lordy, my sides hurt from all the giggling. I'm sure I left a lot out of the OMG soap opera/saga recap. I just highlighted some of the more dramatic moments and plot twists. Feel free anyone to jump in and add anything I overlooked. On a serious note, I...
  3. This intrigues me too, I would get a rash when I was much younger all over my scalp. I never knew what it was. Is it possible to just have DH in an isolated area, or is it usually an all over thing?? Just curious.
  4. STOP THE PRESSES Cissie!!! If we can get a match made and a romance going in the continuing saga of this OMG thread, that is really all we are missing here. I agree Patti, this has been the funnest day ever in this thread. I just can't stop laughing, I look like an idiot all by myself here at the desk and computer.
  5. Thanks for this link Andrea, I will look into it I think that's the plan now is to make sure I am gliadin free as well. I don't really think I eat gliadin containing grains often, I am proabably getting them it in baked goods/packaged foods that I eat on only ocasionally.
  6. I have had the biggest revelation today, learning about this gliadin issue. I'm just putting 2 and 2 together and now some things are making sense. Last week when I had "d" (and I never have "d" so I knew something was up) I had eaten Nature's Path Sunrise Mesa cereal the night before. It has amaranth flour in it! I don't really have all of these non...
  7. The protein in oats is avenin, you are right on that but oats also contain gliadin according to the following info: Gluten A protein in cereal grains. Wheat, rye, barley, and oats contain the gliadin subfraction of gluten that is toxic to persons with Celiac Disease . Gliadin A glycoprotein fraction of gluten. Gliadin is present in...
  8. Like sands through the hourglass these are the days of our lives here on the OMG thread.... Our story began long long ago with corn (oh how I long for the simple days of corn), and then msg and packaged/processed foods, somewhere in the middle there was a dramatic Bumble Bar intervention, a tropical storm, followed by cysts and ovary pain, and the shocking...
  9. It's beginning to look like this is the case rinne. I like to think this way too, that everything does happen for a reason and we are given signs and signals to lead us in the right direction. This is a big revelation for you because now you can stay away from things with gliadin as well and maybe that will allow for more healing to take...
  10. Me too Andrea, although I was extremely high for both gluten and gliadin. I just think there is so much that is not know about all of this, it's frustrating to know what to do, what to eat as far as grians/alternative grains go
  11. Thanks so much Mango for these links, I will definitely check them out. It's packing time for you already? You are leaving us so soon This is great Celia! Or we could coin the phrase ourselves, Britney-barefoot-itis-in-a-gas-station-bathroomphobia?? Rachel, this is all very interesting. In all of my allergy tests...
  12. Boy that peanut butter must have done a number on your system Rachel. Do try the brown rice cream and hopefully that will help solidify things for you. Bananas are suppose to be binding as well. Can't remember if you can tolerate those or not? I know what you mean Celia! Is there a name for the phobia of walking barefoot in gas station...
  13. So it makes sense why you are losing 25 pounds almost at the drop of a hat, severe malabsorption.
  14. This is what I have been using: Open Original Shared Link
  15. So I am getting in on this water challenge at the tail end. Are water purifiers that are attached to the sink tap not efficient enough? I have had a Multipure system for over 10 years. I've wanted to get the filters for the showers as well, but I keep forgetting about it.
  16. Check out this link: Open Original Shared Link
  17. Oh, there are multiple Valleys I guess I assumed there was only the Valley. BTW, I loved that movie Valley Girls, it was my first 'R' rated movie Either that or Vacation, can't remember what came first? So sorry last night didn't go so well with your family. I commend you for trying to mend fences. Give it time I'm in Colorful Colorado
  18. Great information Mango! Do you happen to have an arsenal of links for a casein free diet/lifestyle. I am going off dairy for good, my ocasional indulgence is no longer working for me
  19. Susan, I love your new picture too! I hope you had a good evening with your brother and pot of spagetti? When you mention gas station bathrooms it made me think of all the broohaha about Britney Spears walking bare foot in and out of a gas station bathroom. First of all I would never go into one, and then to walk bare foot?? OMgosh I have the same...
  20. Info on fat malabsorption: "Some causes of Malabsorption- Acutely abnormal intestinal lining due to an acute intestinal infection, overuse of antibiotics, alcohol Abnormal intestine lining present in Crohns and Celiac Unbalanced flora, bacterial overgrowth, parasites Inadequate gastric mixing due to the presence of a fistula Impaired transport...
  21. I want to take up kickboxing and write words like leaky gut, gluten, corn, dairy, celiac, immune system, hives, allergies, grains, and so on all over the punching bag and then beat the H E L L out of it. Anyone want to join me??
  22. Evie, What a milestone, cheers to you and your husband on your 60th wedding anniversary! I have all the admiration in the world for you guys, it's something to really aspire to. Sounds like it will be a wonderful celebration with your kids and grandkids
  23. I'm in the same boat and also so sick of one step forward, two steps back. I try to just do the best I can and not obsess about it all, but when you are constantly getting sick from what you are eating it's kind of hard not to focus on every little thing. I think the water could be a possibility, it wouldn't hurt to test out your theory. it would...
  24. Thanks Mia for this link
  25. Rachel, I've been trying to find clues, something to help you out to make sense of it all. This is what I found a while ago, about possible reasons for ovary pain. The colon is located in the same region and can mimic, or be confused with, ovary pain: "The colon sits next to the uterus and ovary. Pain from irritable bowel syndrome can seem like...
