  1. I use one of those mini electric coffee/spice grinders. It really doesn't grind that much at a time, maybe 1/2 c. or less and it makes it so easy. I would do a couple batches at a time and then store in a clean/dry glass jar with an airtight lid in the fridge (or a ziploc bag would do), then it's ready for when you need it.
  2. I don't know Lister, sorry I can't help you out on this one. Maybe someone else will know
  3. Oh, good Mango Aren't they yummy? And so versatile. You can add whatever you want to them. Lister, I forgot, you can add about 1/4 tsp salt to each batch and a little pepper if you like too, if you do try to make these. And you should spray the muffin tins with a little cooking spary so they won't stick. Make sure you find a gluten-free can...
  4. I was going to say I don't know either on how long scramble eggs will keep, do you have a fridge provided for you at work to keep them cool until you do eat them, and a microwave to heat them up? You can also make mini frittatas, I can't remember if you cook that much? You take 8-10 eggs in a large bowl, add 1/2 c. rice milk or almond milk and beat together...
  5. I get my turkey at Wild Oats, maybe some of the others will know what brands are gluten-free at main stream grocery stores. I do know that Applegate Farms has a packaged turkey meat, but I think it is only at health food stores. To hard boil eggs is easy, everybody has their own recipe/method, but here is mine: Put your eggs in a pot and cover...
  6. Lister, I am really proud of you for hanging in here! I think everyone has given you some great suggestions on what to lay off of and what you need to add in. I agree about needing more protein, fruits, and veggies- less junk. I know it can get expensive but things like turkey meat, canned tuna, eggs, baby carrots, some other fresh veggies and fruits...
  7. If dairy is not an issue you could do twice baked potatoes, or get some store bought pesto sauce and toss rice pasta with that and serve your steak on top of a bed of pesto noodles. If dairy is an issue you could do roasted potatoes, that always gives them lots of flavor, or toss some rice pasta with olive oil, sea salt and fresh herbs. I have a really...
  8. I just took 2 9" cakes out of the oven and they fell a little in the middle. It seems like all the gluten-free baked goods I bake fall a little after I remove them from the oven and they cool for a bit. Maybe it is the properties of the substitute flours and other ingredients?
  9. Just to add, Copper Mountain is a mountain resort. It's out of Denver about an hour and a half or so.
  10. I don't know Andrea if I have seen any that size out and about anywhere. I have a set of 5 from my mom's collection, she used to make tea cakes (I think that's what they called them in the 70s/80s?). I am trying to replace all of my baking stuff little by little in case there is wheat gluten reminants. I'll let you know if I find any. Edit* I just...

  12. Congratulations! A year doesn't always sound like a long time, but it is. It's a long road and a lot of hard work so good for you
  13. Well, hard to say. I only followed it for about 3-4 months. It was hard for me because I couldn't do the keffir which is one of the main healing components, and I tried making cultured veggies and they didn't turn out, she (Donna Gates) wants you to make them often and eat them daily, again another one of the main healing components of the diet. I did...
  14. I did. It basically is all about healing the intestinal lining and clearing out the yeast. The diet is pretty restrictive and there is some out of the ordinary foods that make up the bulk of the diet, i.e. keffir and cultured vegetables.
  15. Maybe they have received a lot of feedback from people with cc and so they have changed their labeling to reflect that??
  16. I use the Earth Sciene skin care line, I have yet to verify from the company yet if they are gluten-free, the ingredient listings doesn't reveal anything but I want the 'for sure' from the company. At night I use this salve that is made by this lady in the mountains, it's called Beautiful Face, I just slather it on.
  17. I am one of the people you recommended it to Patti and now I use it too I have been using the lavender, I picked up verbena and chamomile too. They smell really good. I love the fact that there are so few ingredients. I hope there isn't citric acid, I looked at my packaging info and it wasn't listed.......
  18. I don't have any insight for you about cellulitis, so sorry your husband has this. Is it similar to an ear infection? With celiac, the immune system has been severely compromised, making it easy for infection to set in. I hope he gets better soon
  19. From what I have read on the Avoiding Corn board it is a mixed bag, some react to it and some don't. Some people, for example, can eat the Namaste mixes (xanthan gum is a listed ingredient, but the company clearly states it is from a non-corn source) and not react while others do react. I guess it depends on the individual.
  20. Rachel, how exciting you have a new sweetie!! I know we can't see you but you seem to be glowing, this post just gushes off of the page. If that even makes sense?!?!
  21. Fabulous! So glad you made it to Beau Jo's You were right where my family lives.
  22. I'm just curious as to why Spainsh as a second language should be an illegal requirement? Spanish and English are in a close race for the second most spoken language around the world. I would think speaking any language, multiple languages, would be a gift, no matter what it was.
  23.
