  1. This is in my July/August Natural Health issue, not a caserole but sounds really good: Zucchini "Angel-Hair" with fresh Pesto 3 medium zucchini peeled 1 medium green zebra tomato (or any heirloom variety), seeded and chopped 1 tbsp EV olive oil pinch sea salt and freshly ground black pepper (and more to taste) Pesto 2 cups fresh basil leaves...
  2. Thanks for clarifying, I'm on a hunt for gluten-free liquid smoke now
  3. This is what I buy, the Applegate Turkey Hotdogs. I think they are great. And my nieces have always eaten these and they love them. A hotdog does sound good about now for 4th of July, I wonder why that is
  4. Thanks so much for this link!
  5. This is regarding the liquid smoke, I couldn't tell if you were talking about the liquid smoke or soy sauce that you buy is from McCormicks or Spice Hunter? This is gluten-free also? I am making my family's traditional brisket recipe that calls for worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke, I assumed these both had gluten so I have been leaving them out...
  6. Has anyone had any of these Blue Moose hummus and dips and had any problems? I called the company and they were unable to answer about being gluten-free, they thought the hummus would be safe- really helpful
  7. I don't really know, maybe someone else will? I would think though the food industry is having to be more forthcoming about declaring allergen ingredients, especially when there can be fatal results when unknowingly ingested. So I am hoping labeling of questionable, newly developed or not, ingredients will improve.
  8. I don't know about anybody else, but I feel now that I am aware of celiac and after a year and a half or so of eating a gluten-free diet it seems like more and more people I know are having digestive difficulties and exhibit signs and symptoms of celiac. Maybe it's just me though.
  9. I just got Annalise's Gluten-free Baking Classics! I am excited to try out some of the recipes, I am in the U.S and wondered if anyone knew of other brands of rice flour that are finer ground?
  10. Patti You just peeked my interest in trying Vance's. Knowing you are also a super sensitive and you do fine with it, I might give it a try.
  11. I have seen canned chicken with "wheat starch" listed as an ingredient in addition to the chicken (the brand sold in bulk at Costco in fact). Maybe there are some canned tunas/salmons with the same? Also, with farmed fish you just never know what you are going to get, so i agree it is best to stick with Wild. But always read labels and check with the...
  12. These are great recipes, i don't know why I didn't notice this thread before! Thanks for posting Where did you find a gluten free worcestershire sauce? I haven't seen any in my area.
  13. hiveman, with auto-immune conditions it is common to have multiple food, chemical, environmental allergies. There are many other threads on this board that address soy allergies that might be helpful to you, as well as other food allergies like dairy. Here are some angioedema links. I find them to be really vague about the condition and not really...
  14. When I did a stool analysis some years ago the results showed fat malabsorption for me. I found this info about it: Some causes of Malabsorption- Acutely abnormal intestinal lining due to an acute intestinal infection, overuse of antibiotics, alcohol Abnormal intestine lining present in Crohns and Celiac Unbalanced flora, bacterial overgrowth...
  15. Good luck if you do try it Yeah, I think maybe it was the frozen meals that people were reacting to? But I might be wrong so don't quote me on that!
  16. This thread is hilarious, you all gave me the giggles I just saw the new Beano commercial today, and of course the Pepto Bismal one is always on. And the Tums...
  17. This is my favorite summer-fall tomato recipe, it is to die for with summer tomatoes. Caprese Marinated Tomatoes 5 roma tomatoes, washed and sliced thin or thick to your preference 1-2 clove garlic, minced 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon dried basil OR oregano (not both) You can use fresh basil or oregano...
  18. I love Brussel Sprouts! This is a good recipe thanks
  19. Also, you might want to rule out a peanut/legume allergy. Just another thought.
  20. My skin really changed, I used to have breakouts here and there and I just don't have them anymore. I am really enjoying cooking/baking and eating gluten-free, which at first was a very hard transition to make, but now I wouldn't have it any other way.
  21. Sorry I am so belated in getting back to you on this, I can eat this Amy's Pasta Sauce with no problems. And yes, I am avoiding soy, corn, gluten, and dairy. As far as cc with Amy's, there have been a couple of different threads about this that I have noticed and some do have problems with her products while many others do not. It really comes down to...
  22. That is one of the differences between uticaria/hives and angioedema, that uticaria/hives is on the surface and angioedema goes much deeper into the tissue (thus the reason it is so painful). Yeah, those doctors sure are something else. I have had some wonderful experiences too Fiddle Faddle, I don't know much about DH so I...
  23. This is so true. We may look fine/healthy to them but they have no idea what we have been through/are going through. I agree that most people think of it as a fad, or being picky about food, or even having an eating disorder and being a control freak about every last thing that goes into our mouths.
  24. I thin Nantzie, or Fiddle Faddle, can't remember who, already posted about this. Looks interesting! I am going to try something out for 4th of July and if it turns out ok maybe I will enter it.
  25. Girl Ninja, This is so true. Angioedema and some other skin type outbreaks are so different from hives, they don't respond to antihistamine meds like Benadryl, and yet they continue to lump these conditions with hives like they are related. I used to just say to everyone I get really bad hives, but now I say I have angioedema because they are two totally...
