  1. Ooooh, good tip hez That Martha Stewart is so clever!
  2. Welcome to the board rinne, that is a funny story Dairy is constipating in general, so it's good you were able to make that connection with it and your body.
  3. I don't know how I would do that, go without food and water for such a long period of time, especially with my blood sugar issues and I tend to get really really dehydrated and I need water frequently Good to hear it all looked pretty good as far as the one polyp. Keep us posted as to what happens with the next consult and surgery.
  4. I don't seem to have problems with Erewhon Crispy Brown Rice, the gluten-free version. You have to make sure it's the gluten-free version of the Crispy Brown Rice with the dark blue front, not the "wheat free", original, or salt free (they have different colors on the front). It only has brown rice, brown rice syrup and sea salt. The problem though...

    ARCHIVED Introduction

Berneses, you reminded me of a question I wanted to ask Robb. He had mentioned the relationship between insulin and skin tags and I was wondering if insulin levels affected our menstrual cycles, like its affect on estrogen? Or what about prostaglandins?
  6. I don't actually watch her show too much, but I think she has a great personality, really bubbly and enthusiastic about everything. But when I do watch, you are right, she has a lot of great tips and gives lots of little tidbits of information when it comes to food and cooking. I actually remember her saying the part about her only buying a certain type...
  7. Yay Mango, I'm so glad you put up your picture!! I am lost after missing just yesterday and earlier today
  8. Congratulations Julie Jules, What a blessing!! Julie Jewels
  9. Sleepingbean thanks for sharing your experiences, and advice and suggestions, very helpful not just to me but anyone weighing their options about having a baby while sick with an auto-immune illness I would like to have as much info as I can, arm myself with the facts, do you have any book suggestions or websites of organizations that relate to your post...
  10. These really made me sick and I was curious if anyone else had a problem with them? The ingredients don't list anything suspicious but I didn't notice it until after I ate them, under the ingredients it states "not guaranteed gluten free"
  11. I have similar experiences dlp. What I don't understand is I seem to be able to eat corn on the cob and fresh tamales with no problem, but when I eat processed corn or corn derivatives I get super super sick. I am starting to think about the synergistic phenomenon too, as far as other ingredients mixed together. When I have processed corn or corn derivatives...
  12. Sorry I am laughing Rachel, but the way you described what is happening to your computer made me giggle. Sounds like your computer is possessed. I hope you get it figured out soon.
  13. So true Fiddle Faddle, but it is also presenting problems for the men/boys and their systems. They are getting too many estrogens from meat, dairy, etc. and I read there might be a connection to this and infertility (in men) and ED.
  14. Thanks Andrea for the hugs, and the song. It was really helpful and so true, the sun will come out tomorrow and tomorrow is always another day to try and try again I hope you are feeling more chipper yourself. I love your new picture, it's always so nice to put a face to the name. Is that Seth with you? I am in love with him, he could not be any...
  15. Hi Manja, I am wondering if you have a problem with all forms of sodium? Someone else on the board in another thread was told by their doctor that baking soda is a form of salt, so maybe that is why you react to it as well?
  16. I have only been eating red skinned potatoes the last 3-4 years just for that fact, that they are the least starchy. I seem to do well with them, and if you can find them in your area Terra brand chips makes a Red Bliss Potato Chip. Very yummy, and last I checked gluten-free. Dried fruit is not my friend I don't know if it is the concentrated sugar...
  17. I believe dates are fresh, however there is such a thing as dried dates, they roll them in oat flour. Also you can get fresh figs. (I think there are also dried figs, so make sure you get the fresh if you do try them out). But someone can correct me if I am wrong....
  18. I actually did hear that about potatoes and gluten you guys. It was something I came across when I researched going gluten free, before I even came to this board. I can't remember where I found the info or what exactly the connection was. so true Rachel, the last thing you would want to eat if you could eat anything in the world...
  19. Rachel, I called her and she doesn't know of anyone personally ....But she gave me the address of the website for the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. You can do a search of your surrounding cities for a naturopath that has any emphasis area, including gyneclology. Here is the link: Open Original Shared Link At the...
  20. No, see you are the age you are until you hit 30, and then you just stay 30, forever and ever. It's amazing how that happens dlp, stay away from the Bumble Bar. We are going to have to come down there, or up there, wherever you are and have a Bumble Bar intervention
  21. And I did the opposite of you! I kept really good records of what was going on with my cycles and things related to it, and not so much what was going on with other issues, like food reactivity and etc.. Ah well, hindsight, looking back we always wish we would have done it differently. I can call my gyn's office and see if she has...
  22. I wish you could go to a gyn like mine. She's actually a naturopath and a nurse practitioner with a specialty in OB/GYN. She is really great when it comes to alternative medicine and understanding auto-immune illnesses and food allergies. Could you find someone like that in your area? Ok, you've given me great resources to get started...
  23. OMG dlp, I would have never guessed your age! I'm terrible with guessing age as it is. Everyone here has such a young energy about them Floridian 44 is not old! 40 is suppose to be the new 30, heck 50 is suppose to be the new 30 Keep us posted on your chicken challenge dlp.
  24. Thanks Andrea for the book suggestion and the website addresses to check out. I don't know what the laws are in my state, but the more I think about this issue I really should find out what they are. I do recall having to have records of all the required vaccinations to get into high schools and colleges here, and if you didn't have them then you either...
  25. Rachel, Maybe what you could do is go over your journal and pinpoint when you have the pain in relation to the cycle (ovulation, start of flow, etc.) , describe the pain, and note how long it lasted. Have yourself armed with the details, then you can present this to your doctor. Explain to her that before you were dealing with more pressing symptoms...
