  1. So far so good Mango. Maybe I can eat a few a week without any problems? That would be nice They do taste good! Maybe you can eat some in the very near future, I am hopeful you will be able to Donna, it's so true! The posts and pages add up really fast in this thread It's a gift...and a curse I...
  2. I thought of a few silly ones, sorry if they are redundant in theme.... -you have perfected the art of "store hopping", going from store to store around town to get all of your gluten-free foods because there is not one store that carries everything you need -the letters "d" and "c" actually have meaning, and it isn't good -your...
  3. Rachel, a couple things struck me when I read your replies. Is there any chance you want to revive something between you and your ex? Your words sound as if you still have a lot of feelings for him, almost as if the love is still there, and the door is not completely closed? Also, you mention that he became insecure and possessive and there were accusations...
  4. Ok, I understand your plan, it was nice of you to think of those who can't eat them! They are quite exciting, I get really giddy about them myself I had one today I'm trying them out to see if I have a reaction after clearing them out for a while.
  5. I am trying to figure out the great grain debate for myself. I recently went without grains/legumes for a month or so and substituted fruit in its place, I felt better on the grains and legumes I was eating than the one piece of fruit a day I added in. I have a lot of questions. Are some grains less harmful than others (i.e. millet, quinoa, amaranth)?...
  6. rinne, you crack me up! Great info about the sauerkraut, thanks for sharing!
  7. I'm going to have to go to the library and get the book, I sold my editions (I had 2 of the editions) in a garage sale I need to reread and refresh my memory as to some of the main principles and allowed food list and see if it will work for me. I never tried the keffir. At the time I did the diet she was only doing cow's milk and goat's milk keffir...
  8. Rachel, All of these feelings/points are very valid, and I think when it come to the cycle of illness and the emotional aspects of it, very normal. There is NO WAY you bring the worst out in other guys, no way! That is crazy talk. Look at you on this board, people flock to you You bring out the best in everybody here. It sounds like your...
  9. Hi Donna, welcome back So sorry something you ate made you sick, get some rest and I hope you feel better real soon!
  10. So when eating out, we're getting soy-ed, corn-ed, and canola-d without even knowing it.
  11. Somewhere around here in another thread, can't recall where I read it, (oh, it could have been on the Avoiding Corn board)....anyhow, another poster revealed a conversation with a server at a restaurant. She/he inquired about canola oil (sometimes those severely allergic to corn cross react with canola oil) and she told the server she would get very sick...
  12. I agree, this is what you need. I have had mine for years, with no signs of giving out. You just load the seeds in, pop the top on, and about 3-4 pulses is all it takes to grind them up really well.
  13. Good work Chelse for spreading the word
  14. I'm glad to hear you are considering getting some counseling for yourself. I think that is a step in a very positive direction. You can't force someone to get help when they don't think they even have a problem, but you can do everything you can to get yourself some outside support and assistance in order to get yourself strong. Good luck
  15. I agree, this news must be spread.
  16. You didn't like them Mango? I LOVED them, they were the thing I looked forward to each day How sad that a tortilla would bring me so much joy!
  17. Actually, you got me thinking.... I am considering revisiting some of the principles of this diet. My skin never looked better while on the diet. It doesn't look all that bad now since I have been slathering on a special salve at night the last few years, but there was a healthy glow that came from deep within the gut, I believe, and this diet was...
  18. It's called "die off", when the yeasts are killed off the byproduct is extremely potent and toxic and it creates symptoms that can mimic the flu for example.
  19. Ah, my Food For Life brown rice tortillas, how I miss them so.....
  20. I picked this flyer up at Deby's Gluten Free Bakery and Cafe in Denver, (I hope it's ok to post it and pass the info on?) _____________________________________________________________________________ Introduction To the gluten-free Diet and Celiac Disease, presented by Diane Moyer, M.S., R.D., C.D.E Have you been told to follow a...
  21. This totally p*sses me off
  22. Rachel, This is not a lecture, just an observation, but you know the saying, "life is what happens when you are busy making plans...", or something like that? I am in total support of focusing on one's health, but I would hate for anyone to let something pass them by because they were waiting for the "right time". You know what I mean?? Because there...
  23. I would love to figure out what diet is optimal for me and my body, I have been trying to figure that out for 12 years! I'm at my wits end right now, I have done just about every type of diet- several candida diets, Dr Weil's eating plan, The Fat Flush Plan, The Body Ecology Diet...... I went off carbs for 3 years and that totally messed my system...
  24. Thanks for the recipe Sounds really good.
