  1. I would like to add: *Best Bagels = Enjoy Life Foods Cinnamon Raisin (mouthfull of YUM )
  2. OMG, I would have never noticed that. I was just assuming everything was gluten-free. Thanks so much Patti for your detective work! Edit- I just looked at all the conditioners for dry hair and they all have wheat germ oil in them, poop
  3. Great news that your hives went away, it's easier to have the detergent be the cause then something else, believe me! I hope you fit in some of Paula Deen's creations those last 2 weeks for good measure, since the rest of us can't, take one for the team
  4. I also react to a lot of the gluten-free breads/baked goods. I don't tolerate the alternative grains very well and other substitute ingredients. I can get away with eating them once in a blue moon, but I never could eat them everyday or several days a week even.
  5. Donna, I'm also sorry for your loss. Death stinks, it really does, and I don't cope with it very well, but especially something so sudden as a car accident when they are gone in the blink of an eye..... I hope you connect with your mom and find all is ok. Welcome back Patti I had to laugh when you said you missed 10 pages in just a few...
  6. I've been good! I saw your post up in the "OMG" book, I'll talk to you up there I'm trying to avoid soy just because I am a firm believer that everything we put on our bodies is absorbed by the skin, but it is difficult like you said almost everything has soy in it now. Mango, that's good to hear you like the Aubrey line. I think I am going...
  7. (Hi Patti, how ya been??) Great timing on this thread, I am in need of hair help too, stat I've been experimenting with different products and still am not happy with what I've tried. Currently I am testing Avalon Organics Awapuhi Mango Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner, it's not very moisturizing imo, at least for my hair type. I need...
  8. Good luck, I hope you are successful in your search!
  9. So sorry you are having such a difficult time. When I have hives they are, more often than not, worse at night, during sleeping. I was told by my naturopath that during sleep is when some of the organs are doing their work and various detoxification processes are taking place (and I can't recall exactly the process, I haven't brushed up on my anatomy...
  10. I have problems with my gums at different times in my cycle, so I think for me there is a hormone connection. But in unrelated events, I also notice a significant amount of what the dentist called "erosion" at the base of the tooth where I get like an electrical shock sort of if I touch the area. I wonder if it had to do with undiagnosed allergies all...
  11. I am so sorry Floridian, you and your family are definitely in my thoughts at such a difficult and sad time. I lost one of the dearest people in my entire life to a car accident, it is so shocking and takes you by surprise, and so final, and you feel so cheated and angry, so many emotions. I know how you feel. Please keep us posted to how you are doing...
  12. No, I totally missed it over the weekend!! I am so bummed. I am hoping they air it again, they usually do...I'll just have to be on top of when If you can't get into anything in your area, gluten-free bakery or whatever, I would just go for it on your own! Develop your own recipes on your free time and see where it takes you. I think most will...
  13. I agree that the same diet isn't right for everyone. This reminds me of a great book I read years ago by Dr Sherry A. Rogers called Wellness Against All Odds, she talked about how through her experiences she learned that even the process of healing called for a change in diet. She had always put her cancer patients on a macrobiotic diet and discovered that...
  14. Floridian, so god to see you Where have you been? I was beginning to think your absence was because you weren't feeling well. I hope that is not the case? Come back soon!
  15. Paula Deen is only the most sweetest, hilarious person I have ever seen. I LOVE her Have you checked to see if there is such thing as a gluten-free culinary school?
  16. I get sick lesss too, when it comes to colds, flus, etc. But I react to foods really easily and often and have lots of symptoms surrounding these reactions that mimic colds, flus, etc, so go figure!

    ARCHIVED Normal Bm's

Actually charmaine broxton, poop, or lack there of, is a popular subject around here. Since it is so much a part of the condition, either the big "d" or the big "c". I'm pretty regular now Berneses, after struggling with the big "C" all my life. I think it id due to cutting out my many intolerances other than gluten and just eating more whole...
  18. Hi Kassie, I created my own recipe for cinnamon rolls using Pamela's Amazing Wheat Free Bread Mix. I just prepared the dough according to package directions (I used a hand mixer with the dough hook attachments) Then working with extra plain rice flour (because the dough is sticky) I frequently sprinkled the dough surface, the rolling pin, and...
  19. It's not a wasted post, that's great news! Congratulations to you and your team
  20. What about omelets, or frittatas loaded with lots of vegetables?
  21. I felt like absolute C R A P when I took all grains, fruit, and starchy veggies out of my diet. I did this for 3 years, I only ate meats/eggs, fats, and low carb vegetables. My bowels stopped completely, I lost so much weight I literally was wasting away, I was moody and irritable, I had terrible headaches, my body ached, I had no energy. I felt like walking...
  22. Mango Your friend "D" dipped her cracker in your hummus
  23. I personally think everyone should try out and taste all the different brands, because what one person loves, another person hates. It all comes down to personal taste. *Best Bread = Food For Life *Best Pasta = Pastariso *Best Pizza = Deby's gluten-free Bakery and Cafe, or Beau Jo's *Best Crackers = Outside the Breadbox Multi-Grain *Best...
  24. Welcome Chris, sorry I didn't spot your post earlier. I don't have any info about anything soy, I can't handle soy products/soy ingredients. Nor alcohol, I'm not a drinker. As far as the pudding Cozy Shack is a brand of prepared puddings that are gluten-free. You can find them in most health food stores and even some main stream grocery stores in...
