evie replied to Rachel--24's topic in Food Intolerance & Leaky Gut
Rachel, do you have enuf foods left to use a 4 day rotation diet? I am afraid you are going to lose (to intolernces) all foods or most! when you are having diarrhea that is when you are most liable to have that happen. sounds like vacation week was not such a great week, sorry. I just happened to see my dermatologist last week for pemphigoid of... -

Rachel, I have been waiting a bit since you posted about the new medication you are taking (ketitofen) so? to ask you to send info about how to get it in other states. thought you might be getting several requests. I will see my local Dr. on Monday, would like to tell her about it and if she can't prescribe it will tell my GI @ University some time in... -

ARCHIVED Celiac, Chrone's, Ulcerative Ibs
evie replied to genicol's topic in Parents, Friends and Loved Ones of Celiacs
Yes,I have heard of people having celiac and chrones + having celiac and IBS. So m,any times with further investigation people will find their IBS is actually celiac disease. If she is found to be celiac and goes gluten free she will get much better and probably would not develop chrons. wish you much luck with your daughters testing!! Living gluten free... -

I do not know about the saliva test either but from what I understand unless you are very lucky to get a REALLY knowledgeable GI for any celiac testing you may be on your own in working/ celiac disease. It seems celiac has not been taken seriously by most doctors, maybe because many medical schools teach very little about it. It seems the theory has been... -

No, they are just not online just now!! but i know how you feel you want instant answers. I am not as well versed as many here on tests. I had endoscopy several months ago that was negative then I swallwed a capsule camera that showed small intestine damage & satisfied that GI that I had celiac disease & started gluten free. He sent me to University... -

hiveman; sounds like you are having problems!! Sorry, you too. Many people on this forum have had or have either constipation or diarrhea, I am wondering if possibly you are somewhat constipated that causes the fullnes on your R. side. I went from "D" to "C" after being gluten free for a few months, now am m ore the way I want to be (nearly 1st time in... -

evie replied to angel-jd1's topic in Related Issues & Disorders
I have had those for 7 or 8 years, better now. first was diagnosed/ lichen planus by dental surgeon, then to dermatologist / diagnosis of citricidal pemphigoid, he sent the swab to Mayo clinic. Dapsone has kept me more comfortable for several years, after going gluten free for almost 6 months & cutting out several foods I have been able to cut down the... -

Rachel; I do not think you are a hypochondriac!! more than likely you have just been sick for so long your immune sytam has gone down the drain along / mine and many others on this board. After reading about sulfites on this line i know why my Dr. had me leave off dried fruits ( sulfites). i am in the process right now drying in my home ddehydrator some... -
I get pain in my lower to upper right side too when I'm constipated. Not to be disgustingly graphic, but if I press down around there I can FEEL the poop. It's like it gets stuck there (that is the ascending colon so it has to travel up and then turn...) My GI doc thinks I also have some IBS. Taking Metamucil helps me for the C, and Equalactin helps with...

My dentist is not allowed to do it & I have so many but for last several years I have had composite material put in when an old one need replacing or a new one put in. I like to think it helps. I used to get HEAL magazine (allergies) and writers there sure thought it was worthwhile to have removal of amalgam fillings. I do think could have started a lot...

evie replied to Byte Me's topic in Post Diagnosis, Recovery & Treatment of Celiac Disease
I agree!! If you are old enough you will remember when spaghetti first became popular in the US, then pizza & later sandwiches, especially subway sdw/ lots of bun. all based on bread/ wheat!! Long ago, like erly 1900's diets were based on potatos, when more moved to cities rice based, now wheat bread based!! no wonder there are more people/ celiac disease... -

Rachel; you sure are a good detective!! I sure don't blame you for being angry, I would be too and am. As far as i know MSG is not a problem for me but I sure am going to stay away from it just in case. Have you thought of writing to your local senator & congressman about the blatant misuse of MSG. Even 1 gram is a lot for a persons body to ingest!! when... -
Lister, I am so proud of you with your giving encouragement to someone who is having a rough time fighting the celiac disease too. that does mean a lot to us when we are feeling at our lowest, at least we think it is. Back 4 months ago my GI Dr. said " it will get worse before it gets better" and I thought "it can't possibly get worse" but it DID. I went...

I have not had a chance to try organic chicken either, it might go down better, when I have a chance I will get one to try. seems strange so many seem to have a problem eating chicken and rice, we must have eaten them together just too many times! I hope we all get over those problems. A friend of mine was surprised & said those are such mild foods!!...
