  1. It sounds like you're disappointed that he's not making "progress" in reaching the goal of going out to eat with you when and where you want to. If you really want to eat out, even though it's not good for him and he's not comfortable with it, you should probably either treat yourself occasionally or go out with some friends. You could also take out from...
  2. You didn't say what your original body jewelry is made of. If it's not titanium, it could be too late to save the piercing. Some people even react to surgical stainless steel. A lot of body jewelry isn't even hypo-allergenic, and while jewelry like this should not be used to heal a piercing, it often is. If it's not significantly better tomorrow, you...
  3. Open Original Shared Link If you have a problem with soy, then don't eat it.
  4. Salt and pepper?
  5. What it says in the article is that for some patients, the symptoms of neuropathy do not improve, but at least the condition stabilizes.
  6. Undoubtedly this is true. But just about all women I know in my age range complain about forgetfulness and lack of concentration. I remember my mother going from doctor to doctor about this. People just expect middle-aged women to be scatterbrained, and so they expect it of themselves. It certainly makes it hard to diagnose and treat real symptoms.
  7. While your symptoms went away with a gluten-free diet, the conclusion of the research was that women who had no forgetfulness still perceived that they did, simply because they expected this to happen to them. I haven't experienced memory or concentration issues, and I attrribute this to my diet (in ways that are totally outside the scope of this board...
  8. I never served baby food to my daughter. She wasn't inclined to start eating solid food until about 8 months of age, and then I would just give her little mashed or crumbled bits of what we were having and let her play with them. When she was ready and hungry, she started feeding herself.
  9. It's also possible that the fragrance alone causes these symptoms. I get headaches from many fragrances found in commercial products. One day I got out of the salon with a headache, and by the time I got home it was so bad I had to shampoo.
  10. I don't have a huge amount of suggestions for you, aside from recommending that you prepare as much food from scratch as possible like I do. Quaker rice cakes are definitely out. They say on the label that they are made in a facility where wheat is used, etc, and if you call them they will tell you they are not safe.
  11. My layman's opinion is that how fast you recover after becoming gluten-free is related to how much damage you have to heal from. Feeling better in a day would be a very good sign, according to my criteria. I myself felt much better in 2 days, my major symptom being joint pain.
  12. While your symptoms may have cleared up after having gone gluten-free, these are not necessarily clear signs of thyroid issues. For instance, most women find their hair thins as they age - just in general. They may perceive that they are experiencing forgetfulness, but in a study I read which tested women with this issue the researchers concluded that...
  13. Great article! Every doctor should read it. They are diagnosing and treating only one symptom of the many possible symptoms that may result from gluten exposure to a gluten-intolerant person.
  14. Maybe. There could be a lot of reasons she is having stomach aches. Unless she's found that giving up gluten makes them go away, she needs to see a doctor about that.
  15. How's her weight? Malnourishment can wreak havoc with a woman's menstrual cycles.
  16. Now when I had bloody d from shigellosis they took me in right away. But otherwise, you wait, and if it's a Friday or Saturday night, forget it. I remember once removing stitches from my palm myself after being unable to get the ER to do it for me.
  17. Do you react noticeably to corn?
  18. Keep in mind that how good a country's medical system is is a judgment made based on what questions you are asking. You may look at the US and see that it is possible to get an appointment to see a specialist on relatively short notice. I look all these people who get tested and retested and reretested because their insurance will pay for it. I have no insurance...
  19. The pecan ones are great, too, but I can't say anything about cc.
  20. Andrew, it looks like your issue is with the English language and the words that happen to represent certain concepts. You have editor's complex - the idea that you can decide what you want a word to mean, based on some sort of personal logic. I'm a linguist. If you'd like to discuss that, it is off-topic and probably should be taken off-line. A seriously...
  21. I would fully expect to wait 4 to 6 hours to be seen here in the US if I were not in very serious condition.
  22. She said it that way? How odd. Chlorination is not a type of filtration. It would make more sense to say "killed" or "destroyed".
  23. It sounds like she's mixing massage with pseudomedical mumbo jumbo. She realigned your neck? If that really needed to be done, she should have sent you to an orthopedic neurologist. Acid in your hands from use? No. I would not feel comfortable with a massage therapist who thought she was practicing medicine.
  24. You should probably call ahead to find out whether it is a purchased product or they make it there. Then make sure there is no wheat in the ingredients. I've had some in the past that looked like they were floured before frying.

    ARCHIVED Low Bone Density

I've done speedskating, and I personnally would recommend against skating for anyone with low bone density. Not only is it not a weight-bearing exercise, but you can fall and hurt yourself easily. You fall a lot as a beginner, and even if you are expert you can wipe out at any time. If you do decide to do inline skating, make sure you wear kneepads, wristguards...
